hello darkonion can you help me return to factory rom on my droid 2 gloval my tag name is MrPescoeloyo is it posible to go back to factory rom i did a back up before installing the fissoin 2.4.3 on my phone can you help me?
@MrPescoeloyo First thing first. You should try to boot into Clockwork Recovery and restore using the nandroid back-up. If that doesn't work, you need to look into SBF Recovery. I have a video on how to do that. Click my name and see the "How to Unbrick Your Phone." Only difference is you'll need the D2G SBF.
What a total waste of 8 minutes. I walked away from this worthless review learning nothing. You need to organize yourself a lot better than this before posting reviews.
@siriusgamer Most ROM's are using the default Froyo ROM. I personally use Fission, but the others, ApeX and GummyJAR have very similar interfaces to Fission. Essentially, stock Froyo with some flare.
Stuck in Sflash screen taking battery out doesn't work, can't access Bootstrapper, ??? Wait, I did it.
Ok I had to hold home and power button 5 min. follow directions for restore. Every response to my question was press x and hold power, but I am not on that droid. Thanks for your response. Some tilk v1.21 can't find all my Contacts. hmm...
I've seen this review and your Fission review. I really appreciate the time you take to make these videos. I am looking to install a ROM and have been wondering what the differences are between the options we have. Might I add a suggestion? You seem to talk mostly about the look and feel of the ROMs which is certainly important but I wish you touch more upon stability and bugs. Are different ROMs less stable others, do some contain bugs, etc. Thanks again for your work.
@automaticbulb Hey. Glad you enjoy my reviews. The difference between the ROM's. To be honest, it is the cosmetics and what variation of apps the developers package with the ROM. There are some operating stuff difference, but to the average user, and for everyday use, most people, including myself, can't tell the difference. As for reliability and bugs, of the three ROM's, I think Fission has the least bugs, just because it...
@automaticbulb it has been around longest. But to be honest, for every day use, bugs are so minor, that you don't really care, or rather, you don't notice them. As for your reliability question, can't really tell if one is significantly more reliable than the other. What I can say though, is that all three are significantly better than stock in every way. Hope that helps!
@kev0475 Thanks for your reply. I just finished installing Fission and it certainly is better than stock. Makes me wonder what was going on in Motorola's heads... I wanted to ask a quick question: Let's say Gingerbread gets released for Droid 2. When Team Defuse gets around to updating their ROM for 2.3 will the update be as easy as updating their ROM? Or is there something trickier that has to be done? I ask because of the locked bootloader and what not.
@automaticbulb Hmmm. I am not quite sure. I'd imagine we'll see a leaked/rom'ed Gingerbread sooner than an official OTA version, but I am not quite sure.
the link doesnt work for the droid 2, can you upload it to like mediafire or some kind of file sharing website??

GummyJar is awesome, Liberty 1.0 is way better (Mainly because it's GummyJar base with a ton of fixes and extra features)

Wait, I thought you can't flash fustom ROMs on the Droid X/2.
siriusgamer 1 year ago
@siriusgamer You can flash ROM's, you just can't mess with kernels because of the locked bootloader.
kev0475 1 year ago
@kev0475 What would one be able to do with messing with the kernel? And what ROM do you use in your other vids, it kind of looks like stock 2.2.

kev0475 1 year ago
@kev0475 So, could I flash default froyo on my droid 2? Like the same version on the original droid or the nexus perhaps?
siriusgamer 1 year ago
@siriusgamer You can flash ROM's designed for your phone onto your phone. You should look into Fission, ApeX, GummyJar, or Liberty.
