@grieske - I'd say that the only difference would be changing direction in that the wing is rotated vertically in your hands to change direction as opposed to horizontally with the mast attached to the board. But since you have complete control over the wing, I'd say it may be easier than windsufing because you can depower more easily. Of course I come at this from a background in kiting as opposed to windsurfing :)
@grieske I'm actually annoyed I spent years learning and practicing windsurfing, when kitesurfing is soooo much easier. This looks a good deal harder than either.
i was wondering if you can use one of these to maybe run down a sand dune and skim down it kinda like how it looks when you learn hang gliding at a begginer hill", i wouldnt be using it as a hang glider as i know thats not what this is intended for and you can probly kill your self but just wandering if i could use it like how i described or maybe run really fast and jump and get little jumps of the ground with a little bit of hang time?
@hadabeesago - Well...when I saw the KiteWing for the first time, I instantly transformed into my 10yr old self who used to attach cardboard "wings" to my BMX bike and hit jumps made out of milk crates and 2x10's dreaming of catching more air! In short, yes - the Kitewing does and can perform like a short distance glider. Check out our FaceBook page (thirdcoastkites) to see more pics - the air time can be considerable!
This video's wording is full of filthy innuendos :P

Nice. It looks a little harder than windsurfing, but a lot easier than kitesurfing.
