I used to cruise in a 1978 Eldorado Barritz, white w/sunroof, white leather interior w. red trim and a kick ass stereo system!! good times! This is an awesome song, his voice is one of the best I've ever heard! My boyfriend used to drive a Red cutless supreme..in those days, you really worked your ass off to drive a classy car.
Its now 2012! This song being heard is now working on that 4th decade! Thumbs up if-,....youre-,......still listening to this music-,........and-,..... it IS STILL 1982? :)
uhh..whose butt is that exactly? always thought it a girls butt with a guys crossed fingers behind it which would make sense. . except its a RIGHT hand, so it cant be a boyfriend. does the hairy hand belong to the butt? man....ive been scopin mike renos butt. damn. ...damn.
saw them at stadium jam in albuquerque in 81 it was fabulous...10 bands in one day & night, sitting on the grass, smoking grass, beverage in hand, what was my boyfriends name...
Did any band sound quite like Loverboy? Paul Dean's guitar sounded different than just the standard hard rock guitar, and Paul Dean's keys were just as much a lead instrument. And Mike Reno, obviously, could sing. Much harder than standard pop music, too hard for "new wave," too atmospheric to be hard rock.
@isitrealgood this is definately NOT new wave (not that i dont like new wave - i love it), its something closer to hard rock, but not close enough. its more like iconic pop rock from the 80's. its along the lines with foreigner and journey
They opened for zz top in 1983 wheeling civic center in wheeling w.v. I was on the floor and 17. We were in a 70 chevelle and my buddy got arrested for open container as soon as we got out of the car,to jail. I had to pay 10 bucks for a ticket..10 bucks..Called his dad .Great show..oh my rebellious youth.
High-Tech and video games of today. Not to mention...a Hell of a lot less traffic and way more freedoms that are now gone.I feel for the Teens today.Cops just don't remember being young once. whats a little burnt rubber to a road once in a while, done right as well as safe for others. BeepBeep.
I was born in 1987, I see a lot of guys my age saying they wish they were able to go back and live through the 80s. I have a 42 year old brother that lived it and I think I experience the 80s through his memories. But just think kids, our parents were listening to this kind of great music when they got down and made us.
@blimpfhs2005 I'd say '83 and '87, were the best years of my life, i had a 1971 2 dr cutlass supreme with chrome 5 spoke mags and a kick ass stereo, no shortage of great music, yeahh she was sweet the dames were always smiling when i took them for a ride.
@jetshull i'm with you! i was in my early 20's in those years...i had n 81 cutlass supreme..black with beige interior...350 V8!!!...and a blaupundt stereo with jensen speakers...hangin out in a commuter parking lot on weekend nights...throwin frisbees around...and of course great music like this blasting out of cars...man do kids do that anymore??
@JimmyConway60 right on, we didnt have the frisbees but we were riding our skate boards late at night by the park, other head bangers would stop and we'd all smoke some weed and ride the sk8 boards, young and free, jeez kids today actually cant afford those cars because of the safety checks now, ha ha i remember we would start an old beater, and whammo you had wheels, no safety check, good times.
If I had a time machine I would definitely go back to the hairdo days of the 80's (when I actually had hair to do), And all the tasty babes in their skin- tight faded LEVI's (the only real jean ever) couldn't be any more delectable than they were then. Ta hell with these denim knockoff pieces of crap that all those jackoffs wear around their punk asses (fuck you people look stupid) I am a proud fucking Canadian, and I miss music...REAL music. Anyone with a time machine hit me up. Pull up your fu

i was 16 in 1982,you think i dont miss it,god what id give to be in 82 again.there was nothing like being young and the chasing women, miss it all, mike
@04buddy God, I miss the Chase Too, but one of them hung himself, and the other Shot himself, and the third, Shot himself to so, I guess It is really Over, but I listen too this song because it reminds me of the good memories, and laughs, and cries, we had, the thing that I hate toi realize, that it "Is Over", but I still Love them so.
God I Love These Guys ! I went to see them at the "Kingdome" in Seattle, Washington, when I was 19, and I still love this Song, I have so many memories, good and bad, but thats what they call "Life" .
My friends played this song at my going away partie to the united states marine corp....... When I was in boot camp I thought about this song every day. After my 18 mounts- I listen to this song over 100 times. dam what happen to great music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I saw Loverboy with Journey in '81 in Houston and it was AMAZING. We were right at the front of the stage. High school girls JAMMING with the best!!!!
And on top of all that, Hollywood can't seem to make a decent movie. Everything they do is the same old crap they've been doing forever, except now lately they've been taking everything I grew up on and destroying it(Transformers, GI Joe, Dragonball, TMNT, just to name a few). Well, one good thing about being around right now is that it's so much easier to get a hold of all the stuff I do like thanks to computers and internet. But everytime I hear a new song or see a new movie trailer, I cringe.
I don't think I was born at the right time... It seems like everything just keeps getting worse... TV, movies, music, even videogames(tech increases, so graphics and sound get better, but same old kinds of games, just looking nicer)... It all just keeps getting worse. I find myself still playing NES games, watching old shows, and rocking 80s hair metal... I was born in 1986, but I wish I was born 10 or 20 years earlier. There's nothing tolerable on radio or TV anymore today.
@DerStadtschutz i know i was born in 1991 so i didn't even live to see the 80s. even though i collect older videogames, i have more nes games then i have 360 games. i like 40s,50s,60s,70,s music but i like the 80s music the most. there are a few songs i like from the 90s and 2000s but they weren't on the radio. and unlike most people who say they like old music i actaully like rap, not the crap thats on nowadays i'm talking about the classic hip hop like biz markie sugar hill gang fat boys etc.
I'm going to see them tonight here in las Vegas. I can hardly wait. I've been playing their videos all day on youtube and have my CD ready in the car. They were favorite band back in the 80's. I was in my early 20's living in Huntington Beach, CA at the time. It just didn't get better than that. Life was great.
I was 14 when this song came out.. freshman in high school. please.. take me back to then.. when everything was innocent.. music ruled.. life was better
Sounds cliche, but the memory of the high school years, friends, music, discovery, will stay with you for life. This song and album bring me back to that time like no other.
well, once upon the time many years ago i heard this song and dance it till i dont remember but i still can ear it and remember that old times! Beautifull!!!
What a great band - 80's still has the best music ever put out in this world. Many who are tired of the rap chant are returning to this true epic of music.
@TheEarlymtv Amen. That just about sums it up. Nothing like the 80's. I hate cell phones. Back then, when you left the house you were unavailable....period.
I was 11 when this song came out going on 12 when I first heard it I thought it was foreighner until I saw them on solid gold, I always new that they had working for the weekend, but I think this is far one of their best songs, I am black but I like to listen to all genre's of music when it is good, like tasting different types of food and liking it
@AFFORD2TRAVEL Music knows no boundaries....race, gender, ethnic background, whatever. That's the beauty of music. I agree with you. I love all music, all genres.
the people who don't like are probably lady gaga fans, but you r right this is real music from one of the greatest musical decades of all times, I love the 80's.
The music and bands from the 80's will never be equaled. My Heart goes out to all of you people of the 80's out there..Good Times, sweet memories, and the best bands and songs. Stay Safe Everyone.
Back when we all had great music and talent, and our memories. Unlike the no talent trash the record companies are promoting now. So sad where all the good music has gone.
my sister gave me this LP way back in 80...lol..i still have the original..i was like wtf is this with a dudes ass man..lmao...but i put it on and was floored really...
i guess i was a high school sophomore - it most definitely wasn't cool to like loverboy, wasn't rock enough for the rockers, wasn't punk, little bit of canadian gayness factor there, they were popular therefore not alternative, so most guys if they wanted to be cool wouldn't have claimed to be loverboy fans where i'm from - but they sold a lot of albums, had a good year at the top, and i remember the songs well, really good stuff
Isn't cool that the younger generation here on YouTube are discovering how awesome the 80s music is -- and realizing that their generation has missed out and now they want REAL music!
So thankful that I grew up with such incredible music that involved extremely talented musicians actually playing their own instruments and not having to rely upon "back-up" recordings. Saw these guys live at a county fair for $8 a few years ago. It was an outdoor venue and they brought in two 3/4 ton Ford trucks filled with speakers. It was a blast and they kicked ass!
You also forgot that fact that almost all modern "musicians" rely on autotune software to correct their lackluster singing ability. Its sad to see the decline of music.......
So thankful that I grew up with such incredible music that invovled extremely talented musicians actually playing their own instruments and never having any need to rely upon "back-up" recordings. Saw these guys live at a county fair for $8 a few years ago. They brought in two 3/4 ton Ford trucks filled with speakers. It was a blast and they kicked ass!
I wanna be 11 years old at the roller rink again with this song blasting out of those GIANT speakers and all the "techno lights" going everywhere and the silver globe in the middle making everything sparkle! Maniac speedskaters zipping by while you try to learn new tricks and THEY fall on THEIR asses!! Smell of that cheap pizza and popcorn!!!! Giant softpretzels. Trying to go to the bathroom on skates! ROFL Pac Man dying over and over!!!! Soundtrack of my LIFE!!!!
@elteescat HaHa I'm class of 86 so I was always tagging along with my big sister (class of 83) so I KNOW all that you said! This is early 80's all the way **** LOVE IT ***
@UberKrispy I'm class of 89!!! =D Can we just go back for five minutes?? Long enough for this song one more time?? And let me grab another slice of that pizza!!!
@elteescat How bout "Good Times" by Chic, "Signed Sealed & Delivered" by Stevie Wonder, "Stroke" by Billy Squier..."Locomotion" Grand Funk...songs from the roller rink :)
@elteescat I think you described my teenage years and many others back in the 70s and 80s. I will always remember my days at the roller rink as some of the best days of my life. I made many friends and met lots of girlfriends at the rink. Just reading what you posted made me miss the good old days. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
@elteescat Yes, I do miss our 1980-1981 days. Right before MTV came out. And in one of my Junior High math classes, I drew a pattern to try to defeat that Pac-Man, and it was repetitious and you could never defeat it unless the power went out...otherwise you'd be still doing that pattern ad infinium forever and ever...sorry, I find this funny
@AIKevorkian That's funny as hell! It took so little to entertain a kid back in those days!!! A game project you made up yourself and got entertained for hours! These days, kids think they have to have hundreds of dollars worth of game equipment and all the latest games and gadjets!! All WE needed was a quarter!!!! lol
loverboy was one of favorite froups growing up and they always will be..... DJ in Ga

Back when we all had great music and talent, and our memories. Unlike the no talent trash the record companies are promoting now. So sad where all the good music has gone.

i guess i was a high school sophomore - it most definitely wasn't cool to like loverboy, wasn't rock enough for the rockers, wasn't punk, little bit of canadian gayness factor there, they were popular therefore not alternative, so most guys if they wanted to be cool wouldn't have claimed to be loverboy fans where i'm from - but they sold a lot of albums, had a good year at the top, and i remember the songs well, really good stuff

Love the red leather pants! Let's face it, the 80's had some kickass music, and this proves it, and this coming from someone over 50!!!! Egad!

In so many ways, the quintessential 80's band.

@leadchick
You also forgot that fact that almost all modern "musicians" rely on autotune software to correct their lackluster singing ability. Its sad to see the decline of music.......

AIKevorkian 8 months ago
@AIKevorkian That's funny as hell! It took so little to entertain a kid back in those days!!! A game project you made up yourself and got entertained for hours! These days, kids think they have to have hundreds of dollars worth of game equipment and all the latest games and gadjets!! All WE needed was a quarter!!!! lol
elteescat 8 months ago
@elteescat was there....why do so many people our age want a time machine?...kids nowdays have no idea how FUCKED they really are,..cheers!
