  • Everytime I come back to this lesson, I learn some small subtle new thing I didnt get the last time. SOem of his later lessons i picked up more quickly but this one still gives me lots of trouble.

  • i think hes barring, he sounds better playing it barred then open. this is a good finger work out. maybe i just have small hands but i can play like every primus song and some wooten and this was a lil tricky at first

  • wait are you barring? i cant tell

  • I dont know why but i never get thaat smooth bass slap sound whenever i do the slap,

Is it my guitar or atre it my strings? Or is het just me?

  • I ordered a P90X and instead of that bass FXs machine I got a bunch of fitness exercise DVDs! wtf !?!

  • @bladesaint21 yeah.. xD now you can rub them over your strings to get bad effects... isn't it a nice compromise xD?

  • @93Basstard LOL

  • very articulate cool

  • i can almost play it at the speed as you can but my left hand fingers hurt after a while and they get "tired"

    oh well practice practice practice

  • no im talking about strumming

  • i play bass in school and i keep getting yelled at for using my thumb.. and i think it may be because im used to watching my dad play electric .. can u tell me how to stop ??

  • assumung that your talking about your left hands thumb (if your righthanded) , try holding it on the back of the neck of the bass while playing

  • +5! gr8

  • thanx man.nice exercise.GOD bless you

  • thanksssssssssssssssssssssssssss.....you´re perfect!!!!!!!

  • thanks man ;) i like it :)

    5*

  • I had commented on your videos before, but I just came to notice, it sounds like a music shop bass, where it's not tuned up properly. Is our bass like this purposely?

I actually want my bass to sound like that.

  • I think that is because of the compression used. Also I need to control the output volume as its very hot and my PC's input doesn't handle that very good. To high and it will distort the sound.

  • Ah. So you record using your PC? Like, AUX>Sound card or just like, webcam?

  • Yes. The bass goes into the Pandora PX4D which goes to the microphone input of my PC. The webcam software is then configured to use the microphone input as sound source.

  • Have you ever had any feedback from the amplifier?

I need to record myself, but I'm too scared to plug my laptop into my amplifier, from when I had plugged my iPod in my amp, and blew it.

Don't worry, everything was turned off.

  • I guess that you want to pluck your amp into your laptop. I haven't tried that but if your amp has a direct out/line out it should be possible without blowing something up :-)

  • what is the Pandora PX4D?

  • It's a little effect box and practice amp for headphone use. Its good because it has a lot of effects and drum loops, and you can play without disturbing anybody.

  • can you just buy it in music shops?

  • Yes I think so. But there is a never one called PX5D, which has some more features. You might want to check that one out also.

  • very nice, ur fingers are cool haha they are like flipping on your left hand haha xD

  • what guitar is he using

  • He is using a Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray :-)

  • Thanks for uploading this video, man! This will really help me! I've been playing bass for a year now, and I wanna learn how to be funkay, lol. You really "explain" this well, I like how you take it slow in tempo, and get faster. A lot of videos that I've seen don't. 5/5 =D

  • Thank you.

  • Simple as far as what notes to play but amazing in the sound, tone, finger speed and confidence.

  • Wow... Lol this is gonna build up enourmous finger strength in my left hand... great job by the way. So fast lol

  • kra muito bom mesmo, very good

  • you've got great technique

  • Thanks man, and good luck with your bass playing.

  • very cool. i'm gonna try this one too ;-)

    keep slappin'

  • i wish i came up with it first...*cries in the corner*

  • ;-)

  • cool! you must have to build up serious strength in your left hand for this one cause my hand is tired after a few times round..

  • I still feel the pain after a while, when playing this one ;-)

  • pretty dudeish

if only i had a bass

guitar will have to do for now

    keep slappin' and poppin'!

  • wow awesome i'm gunna try this!

  • Thanks.
