  • No Japanese audio because the English is the original.

  • I guess it's a little late to mention this now, but the reason why a Japanese audio track was not included on the DVD is because at the time there was no such audio track. The movie was released in Japan in English with Japanese subtitles. I hear-tell that a Japanese dub was produced for television some time back, but what you get on the DVD is what was seen in Japanese theaters.

  • Hey Good Review! iM GLAD U liked it at least. Cause it needs some recognition.

  • Great review as usual

  • Left Hand is hilarious. Bloodlust was a fun filmand is great for killing 2 hrs.

  • So Oji-san, what kept this from being 5 stars?

  • It's probably the Uncanny valley that this particular artist takes you through.

I saw the Highlander, and most of the first one. For some reason it's really hard to like the characters when you spend time on them. Just creepiness all around.

  • Vampires are okay, but I prefer werewolves. Is there any anime on the subject out there, besides Wolf's Rain and (Vaguely) Spice and Wolf?

  • There's a werewolf in this film.

  • Hm. Well, this has me interested. The visuals of the movie alone make me want to watch it.

Thanks for bringing this one to my attention, Gramps! I could use a little less mecha in my collection!

  • This movie was great

  • Do you happen to know a Professor Rose at ASU, Oji?

  • Ah, I remember this one. I was so shocked that there was no Japanese track, but a little research explained why. Still, it was a very pretty movie, and the character design made people take notice.

Shame they didn't adapt the second book into a movie in the interim though, it would've made for a better narrative.

  • Great review. It's a great sequel to the 1st film. The movie was based on Kikuchi's third novel, Demon Deathchase. I read the book and it's very different from the novel. It had a more Clive Barker-ish feel to it.

  • Great review to an excellent movie.

  • Actually, as far as I'm aware, Bloodlust was originally recorded in English and was originally designed to be done in English.

There is a Japanese dub, I haven,t heard it though, the English voice acting is superb... probably better than Cowboy Bebop even.

  • i would disagree,

even if blood lust is very good, and the dub is good but not overall superb as cowboy bebop.

but its the number of good voice actors that makes the english dub of cowboy bebop more stronger then vampire hunter d.

but it is just minor detail's and a subjective view.

sadly i speak objectively HEHE (not) happy Halloween

  • Whoa there...that's a MASSIVE claim. CB and GitS dubs are the gold standards for English dubs.(them, better than the original dubs)

Do not tread into that flame war lightly.

  • Thanks Jii-san, happy halloween.

  • this was the anime that got me started to watch more anime in general so i am glad i got my hand on that anime so early^^
