@inlacrima2013 Good tank or not, thats also extra range that is very useful. Its great for fights where you need to move. That extra range helps keep you in max distance incase you need to make a run across the room. After all, time running is time that is wasted. The sooner you get back into casting, the sooner your dps wont suffer as much. We also already have 2 free points in our tree which doesn't give us any real dps increase. Not having 2/2 at this point in the game is just silly.

@FoofyMoonkin i know it adds a little on range too, but honestly i have had no problems with the shorter range. i actually put those points into owlkin frenzy which i see hardly any moonkins specing into which is odd because in icc theres so much aoe dmg done to the raid it always procts and thats huge dps increase overall, try it out, take those 2 pts out of natures reach and put into owlkin and trust me you'll see a dps increase big time

@inlacrima2013 If you are using points in owlkin that you should be using in Nature's Reach, its a bad plan. If you are using the 2 free points you have in owlkin after all points are used in MAJOR talents, then thats fine. However, not having Nature's reach is just silly. Owlkin barely procs and is a waste in ICC, especially after the nerf to BloodQueen. Best way to summarize this is to read Graylo's Blog on Nature's Reach. Don't know the link, Message me. Also, treants (aka force of nature) are CLEARLY a pvp talent, they don't benefit form your gear improvements as you scale up (except for stam and resil: perfect for pvp) not only will your trees constantly miss the boss they have low crit and no armor pen

You're pretty much a dumbass. Treants are at least 150dps increase, without hero. If any talents are pvp strictly/mostly, it's Typhoon and Owlkin Frenzy.

The guide was good for when it came out. The main thing I have a problem with is NEVER spec Moonglow. It is by far the weakest mana regen talent. I personally specced Genesis one point to get the ten required points for the next tier.

Oh also, Starfall is an excellent dps increase as well. It does just slightly less damage (on SINGLE target) as the Treants, but has a CD of half the time. I personally have the glyph of focus (rather than Insect Swarm) because in my opinion it's FAR better.

I mean, what tank wouldn't want 3% chance of a boss missing w/o DR? And the IS glyph is a VERY small dps increase as it is (I switched it out and havent noticed any dps loss really at all).

glyph of focus is actually a pretty bad glyph. it increases the dmg done of starfall by 20% but decreases its radius.

if you are glyphing starfall you should glyph for the 30 sec cooldown reduction instead.

glyph of starfall and glyph of IS are nearly identical in terms of dps right now. IS being slightly ahead on single target.

once 3.3.3 hits however, initial calculations from what i have found will be that glyph of starfall is quite a bit better.

radius isn't 100% necessary (and when I use starfall on trash, it would pull second groups unglyphed and I'd prefer not pissing my tanks off haha). I'm always within range of bosses with the glyphed starfall, and since I do not use IS glyph at all, it's fine to use it imo.

like I said, IS gives tanks 3% miss w/o DR, so if you are using it and dont have another boomkin in raid who doesn't have it glyphed, I'm sure tanks would love you to get rid of it!

gem stats and on gear stats are the same thing, its not like you get more out of 10 crit on a piece of gear than 10 crit on a gem. Also. DIMINISHING RETURNS, you must explain this concept to noobs or they won't understand why stacking sp is cool but stacking cit and haste are not.

So, I shouldn't socket for crit then? most gear i see doesn't give very much crit though. mainly haste and spell power. I think that may be my problem with my DPS. I average around 4-4.6k or so DPS when i can probably do so much better with the gear I have.

Sounds like you have haste heavy gear, and usually with haste heavy gear you are spirit heavy. Best thing to do is look at your gearset and try to get more caster pieces (int/stam only with haste/crit and spellpower on it)

Good vid, just remember any "noobkins" out there, when u start gettin abit of gear, stacking crit is better than getting haste, as crits will increase your cast time by 20% (which would be insanely hard to reach stacking haste in your stats). Also i cant honestly say i agree with your spec, tho your point about mana regen is valid, typhoon is useless for raids and points in imp moonfire is a mistake alot of new boomkins make, its a waste, dont do it ;)

If you have two points left over but you didn't pick up starfall, I suggest grabbing that due to the cooldown change in 3.1. The last point doesn't matter as long as you have all the major talents you need (and max'd out)

No they do not. If Misery lands on the target, only thing IMP FF will do is give the armor debuff. If you have a feral in the raid, they are more than likely putting it up as well.

You can still apply FF now that it has the 5 minute timer incase the Spriest dies or Misery falls off by accident. But they do not stack.

No, you need 262. Since FF counts as a spell, but applies a hit debuff for you, it will have a chance to miss.

The 262 is the cap we need if you are spec'd into BOP and already have IMPFF or Misery on the boss. If you don't have misery or IMP FF on the boss, your spells can miss. IMP FF is a spell itself, so when you go to apply, it will have a chance to miss, but once its up there, you shouldn't have any other misses.

Excellent video... but I completely disagree with you on crit vs haste.

Yes, 1 point of haste is better than 1 point of crit, all other things being equal, but we have Nature's Grace!

It was easy to calculate the benefit of crit pre-3.1 as a crit would effectively give you an extra 0.5s of casting time, which meant that every crit added damage equal to (DPS x 0.5)

It's more complicated now but is still true, by taking crit instead of haste wherever possible we can keep up w/ pure dps classes
