If it were it would be fully through Christ and so it would be a presentation of Christ to us. But no, I don't think that the scripture is 'alive' in the sense that it Christ makes himself perfectly clear to each individual reader. I don't like these lyrics. "The word is alive"? Why do some christians insist on expressing themselves with clichés in stead of finding their own voice? "With arms wide open"? "It shall not pass away"? This borrowing of biblical wording is a way of lending your speech (or lyrics) an inflated sense of authority. Pseudo-King Jamesian phrases like these are mere tools. For God's sake say something original. You could learn a thing or two from Bride's Dale Thompson.

also, fellowship. surround yourself with those who love God and follow his word. You will find strength in numbers and you become part of a family. God's family. His church. this is where church is important. very important. This is where you are fed spiritually. God will speak to your heart through the pastor and those who minister. You will see what i mean. However you must find the right one. there are many out there that are corrupt and teach false doctrine.

@JTIanEater You surround yourself with His word and will. it takes self discipline. and it is hard especially when things arent going "good". but He wants to mold you, and it will be painful at first. But their are many pieces to the puzzle that make up the big picture. you may even have to be broken down completely to even be workable. Ive been in your position. yet we all have a unique story... yours will be your testimony one day. First, I suggest reading your bible (everyday if possible)
@JTIanEater even if it just a few scripturess. try one chapter. second, you have to talk to him. not ask him for things. just talk to him. everyday throughout the day. in joy and in hard times. if you ask for things, be it for forgivness, for strength, for patience, for meekness. but if you ask for patience and strength. you will be tested. you will encounter situations that are difficult but this is how you learn.
@JTIanEater third, seperate yourself from sin and the world where it is abundant. Nobody's perfect but you must strive for it. God hates sin... but not the sinner. Repent. if you fail. try harder. if you fail again ask for forgivness and try even harder. Untill you are victorious. You must watch who you are hanging with, bad company corrupts good character. They are also in need of God, so dont abandon them, just dont get caught up in the sin again this includes family and friends.

Now, i am not perfect and have no room to even speak in this manner, but i have learned enough to know where to start each day. And although i struggle i believe God still uses me, and i thank him always for that. @jxmayhem Yes, I know pathetic people who call for God over every little thing they do. But if it makes them happy, isn't that all that matters? I know I don't feel mattered at all and hates asking for help from other people since i feel like they don't care. He's just, for me, someone there when no one else is.
@Bakabunii God does care about every single little detail of your life! It is hard when you are struggling to reach out for help, for many reasons, but we are to 'bear one anothers burdens" and TRUE christians are the hands and feet of Christ. I have been struggling myself- and I found that when I got back in the Word and started praying again I feel the joy and peace that comes from a close relationship with Christ- not religion.

The word really is alive. :) God has helped me so much in my life, and He contines to do so. For the people who have watched this, and haven't excepted Christ, but you feel something deep inside you, do not wait. If God is speaking to your heart, that means it's time to do something about it. Do not postpone, because it's about God's time, not yours. You never know what will happen tomorrow. I got here listening to Casting Crowns' songs. I have spent the last 15 minutes reading comments posted here. I am hurt by the disrepectful comments. I can't believe there's so much hate for God. The Lord has been there for me in the darkest times, when I had no where to turn. If not for the Lord, I probaly would have committed suicide 25 years ago. But their are many pieces to the puzzle that make up the big picture. you may even have to be broken down completely to even be workable. I know I don't feel mattered at all and hates asking for help from other people since i feel like they don't care. It is hard when you are struggling to reach out for help, for many reasons, but we are to 'bear one anothers burdens" and TRUE christians are the hands and feet of Christ. I have been struggling myself- and I found that when I got back in the Word and started praying again I feel the joy and peace that comes from a close relationship with Christ- not religion.

I got here listening to Casting Crowns' songs. I have spent the last 15 minutes reading comments posted here. I am hurt by the disrepectful comments. I can't believe there's so much hate for God. The Lord has been there for me in the darkest times, when I had no where to turn. If not for the Lord, I probaly would have committed suicide 25 years ago. So if we want to sing, "I was made to love You," then He is going to encourage it. And you've obviously never actually read the lyrics to One World. Read them in the context of Romans 12. I know darkire that there is going to be a day when all answer to God for our sins. It is up to you to decide which way you will go. One thing that unbelievers always say is "there is no God". How do you know? The devil is always there tempting you to do or say whatever you please but so is the Holy Spirit to help you know what is right.
