After a hour or so I realized that my strings were way to heavy for this amount of bending and my fingers too soft. Now I'm back with normal light strings and I am in less pain!

start with the D G at the 5th fret. do that layover thing up the neck. it's right on with the studio recording and with Ritchie's live versions.

I'm working on this solo... from Hal Leonard (accurate) tab. You are playing about 90% according to it.

One thing... you are not using your pinkie finger... I have been taught to use it... you can keep your hand more stationary, although there is more strength in the other fingers.

Is that just the way you learned? Btw... It is taking me quite a lot of practice, but I hope to be able to play at full speed soon... I'll try to remember to post a video response.

Nevertheless...I was taught to use three fingers for bends and the pinkie in position. Not for any specific song (i.e. necessary vs unnessary)...but for any and all songs in keeping with proper form. Proper form requires less movement regardless of what you are playing. That's all I was saying.

H'mmm. You are entitled to your opinion for sure. Music is indeed about emotion -- and feeling...but there is definitely a technical side as well. You can't play it like the original, if that is what you want, without knowing the accurate tabs...and you can't play as efficiently with three fingers as you can with four. But, thanks for replying... I am working on this lead solo and I can't play it yet at speed...you are much faster than I...at least for now ;).
