I don't know how you did it, but I cannot create empty clips in an audio track using Live 8.2. I can however add dummy samples to the tracks, so clips are created.
Thanks to a friend I have made the switch whole heartedly from FL Studio to Ableton Suite 8. Quite a change after using the Fruity Loops series for more than 7 years.
Great video thanks! But say that I wanted a live sound to go through the dummy clips rather than a loop. From what I have tried everything is the same except for any modulation envelops i would want to set from the clip view (such as transpose, volume). Its as if the live sound goes through dummy clips, gets altered by any FX envelops, but completely ignores any transpositions or volume envelops. Would you happen to know any techniques or ways around this?
Hey dude..really great tutorial. I have seen a lot of tutorials, and yours really stands out for quality.
My only criticism is that you need to find yourself a screen capture program, because beginners won´t be able to see very clearly what your doing. Keep em coming!
Nice tutorial. Follow is great to get variation in a drum pattern and allows for some very useful automation in live or production setting... as mentioned. Word. Be good.
Hey mate. great video! just wondering if you could explian colum three the Submix as I dont get how that works to record the previous . Im guessing its recording the session into arrangement but assigning the arragment to a loop in session...but how? Id love to know! james uk
chan. 3 is a submix channel that takes the AUDIO from the Dummy Clips Channel -
ie- Route the SUBMIX CHANNEL's (Audio From) to- Dummy Clips
arm record ... Now Trigger the Dummy Clips and the submix channel at the same time. The submix will record the Audio with EFX from the Dummy Clips - ...
good video, thanks for the tips. I just got my launchpad and it is a very powerful tool to have. lots of possibilities with the launchpad.
