  • R.I.P. Doug

  • Use to roller skate to My Sharona at the ring. Fall of 1979. Those were the days

  • love the air humping in the beginning

  • sharon helling ♥ we all miss you

  • Great song, so nice to see this again after all these years. Long live You Tube!

A trip down Memory Lane, this song just swept me of my feet when it came out.......lol

  • Of course there are people named Sharona the song was actually written about a real girl named Sharona!! Since then probably other girls were named after the song.

  • This intro goes hard!

  • Still difficult to convince some people My Sharona was the Knack and not the Kinks. Seen it come to blows.

  • the singer DOES look like lionel messi hahahaha

  • singer locks like messi ^^

  • THAT`S NICE COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • EMI Sucks.

  • Prescott is gettin' down!!!

  • has anyone ever met someone called sharona....cause i never have

  • @happiness4cyanide

Rent yourself a time Machine, set it for Brooklyn, late Seventies,

and Lo and Behold all will be revealed to you. Kinda like reaching nirvana. Speaking of which Kurt Cobain thought this was one of the best songs ever written. I think it's mentioned on the insecticide liner notes.

Sharona is a fairly popular name but it' no Susan or Mary or Elizabeth.

I've know at least two and yes I do live in Brooklyn.

  • @alphaboo1 ...........lol...you can have just said....yes i know 2 people with that name

  • @happiness4cyanide

Yes, yes I could have just posted I know 2 people with that name, but i though a little levity might be enjoyable. If you did not find it funny so be it, most comedy is subjective very little is universal. If I has posted I know two people with that name would be so boring as not even worth posting.

Plus you can have your name changed to Sharona and then you would know at least one person named Sharona.

Finally on the show Monk, isn't his assistant named Sharona?

  • CLASSIC JAM!!!!!!

  • When this song came out I was soooo sick of it. Now it's one of my favorites.

  • R.I.P. Doug Fieger: 1952-2010

  • haha, classic man! Awesome

  • RIP Doug!

  • May the frontman RIP!

I just read about death in People magazine just now.

  • This one just sounds better. More intense, more raw. They are putting everything they have into it.

  • @pef286 so much intensity....you can feel it.

  • @pef286 so much intensity....you can feel it. That boy really wanted that na-na from Sharona.

  • God bless Doug! Get The Knack was such a great album. This tune (in its full 5 minute glory), Good Girls Don't, their cover of Buddy Holly's "Heartbeat" were standouts from that wonderful debut album. I need to re-buy the Get The Knack CD if it's still available. Worse comes to worse will buy the vinyl and transfer to CD.

  • this song was one of those that made me wanna try to set a band

  • To the late great Doug Fieger. I remember seeing The Knack in 1994. It was a great night and they sounded great. You will be missed

  • In memory of Doug Fieger. My Sharona was one big song and a huge success. As homage towards you and this song, here is our version of My Sharona in francais by the group SENSE

  • I always loved "My Sharona" and the Knack. Thanks for the music, Doug. R.I.P., you will be missed.

  • Doug was a counselor at Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp in 2006. He was really great - very gracious with his time and insightful coaching. Doug, thanks for the music and for being such a "star" in every way. RIP.

  • I seen The Knack play at The Mississippi Moonshine back in 1987 in Downey Ca.

Just a great band and a great bunch of guys.

    RIP Doug.

    Thanks for the music.

  • R.I.P.

  • RIP Doug. Thanks for many fond memories and great music.

  • RIP Doug.....

  • Rest in Peace Doug Fieger.

  • RIP Doug Fieger

  • R.I.P.

  • Some fine blues playing.here. I'm not so certain it should have been borrowed to sell REALITY BITES & CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2: FULL THROTTLE. It's a turn off for me when they have to build up a so-so movie like CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2: FULL THROTTLE with a classic hit. It's been done too frequently.

I did like REALITY BITES, but only to a certain point, The "insert a hit here" approach often misses the target.

  • I agree, hoboken.

  • R.I.P.

  • the best lead guitar solo!!!!

  • RIP

  • RIP Doug! Great memories with this one

  • Another bit of a glorious era gone on to greener pastures. Doug, we are already missing you... thanks for everything, my Brother.

  • This song was #1 my first month in High School September, 1979! Great song!! R.I.P. Doug! That was my Dad's name too!!!

  • The Knack was always under-rated. RIP Doug.

  • RIP!! :(

  • RIP bra

  • RIP Doug....

    :-(

  • rip doug!

  • RIP

Thanks for a great song, I'll always remember this from Reality Bites which I think helped give the song a rebirth.

  • RIP, Doug and Bruce

  • I got The Knack

  • this is one of the few songs that will get stuck in my head

  • Its already in mine and wont get out :( haha

  • try listening to something else

  • Haha listening to some A7X :)

  • my favorite rock song of all time

  • Why do they cut the guitar solo short?

  • great music, great band! I came alive when I was a sweet young thing at 15 in my bedroom all alone! lol

  • this song isnt as good as new age girl

  • oh, this song ne--ever gets old. Never!!

  • would have made 4 a great rice-a-ronia tune.

  • first song i heard on FM radio

  • I love this song very much.

  • Me too!!!!

  • ****

  • adoro questa canzone

  • This was a great band, they were great technical musicians, great guitar playing, singing, drumming, but they just couldn`t come up with the songs after this. That`s why I hate bands today. It doesn`t matter if they don`t have the songs, they just keep shoving image and image and more image down the publics throat.

  • How exactly can today's bands "shove image down the public throat"? Do you think we are forced to buy crappy music? We are free to choose any form of entertainment we wish. For example, did you feel compelled to purchase any Jonas Bros. marchandise? I didn't think so, you big dummy.

  • God, fuck music! Hooray!!! That dude is a hell of a gun slinger too...

  • this is a god music

  • Hey 30 years ago this week, this song became #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Charts and stayed @ #1 for 6 consecutive weeks.

and 15 years later, the song appeared on the Soundtrack to the Film Reality Bites.

This song is AWESOME and I even heard John Stamos sing this on Season 4 of the hit abc series Full House.

  • the guy in the black curly hair with the guitar KILLS ME ..HAHAH :) has some sick moves

  • i feel horny when i listen to this song

  • Does it make your pussy wet too?

  • lol

  • It's good screwing music.

  • bellissimo!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is just fantastic. Classic rockin cheese. Undertones` Teenage kicks is right there and in some ways better but not as sucessful. This song will never die.

  • This might have been cheese, but at the time it was darn great cheese compared to most of the disco that was out at the time (I was going into my junior year in high school that summer of 79). And besides, Weird Al Yankovic provided his, "My Bologna" to go along w/ the cheese!

  • Too bad the drummer passed away a few years ago from cancer. He was what made this band and song quite good.

  • The story I've heard is that the guys implored the lead guitarist to stick to the plan, and he agreed to do just that ... then went off into 'the zone' as all natural guitarists do ... and the glorious result we hear to this day was captured in just one take ...

  • in the late 80's i always would listen to this on my CD in the car.

  • The Knack had two singles off this album which were this and "Good Girls Don't". Also, the Get the Knack album was #1 for much of the summer of 1979 before Led Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door album knocked it out of #1. This album was a great album.

  • Love this song

  • Is by the way you go on about it, non existent!

  • the song is very nice

  • The Knack was not a one-hit wonder.

    *sigh*

  • love it

  • frekin awesome song!

  • probly not

  • Number 1 One Hit Wonder of all time- Great song!!
