haha.. very funny! I hated Quarantine 2 though, more than Quarantine. It felt so cheap. Especially the ending. It's like they wanted to finish the movie and found the easiest way to do it. The actors were horrible, the plot was too simple and most of the characters were useless. Especially the black military lady. Basically her use was to find the the thermal thing and give to the main character. In fact the thermal thing was quite useless (unnecessary). The terrorist was killed too easily IMO.

I Loved Rec but didn't really like Rec2. Although I appreciate the fact that Rec2 is a GOOD film, it wasn't really to my tastes. Both are better than Quarantine by a long, long way.

Very cool channel, and solid review. I guess Blair Witch Project is more my kind of thing in the found footage genre...I guess for me at least in Blair Witch they couldn't fight anything solid (more like a force that they could never see...plus I like the acting and ambiguity more). But if I see some infected folks right in front of me...then drop the camera & fight to survive.

And the cameras made more sense to me in Blair Witch (they used them as flashlights) then in these...at least to me.

@ 2:02 Jenifer Carpenter sucks just as much, if not more, in Dexter than she does in this movie. At least she dies in Quarantine. I have had to put up with her for the last 5-6 seasons of Dexter. Why can't she die in that series too?

Have you seen Quarantine 2? It is not a copy of REC2. It has a totally different plot and takes place on a plane. I know it sounds stupid, but I liked it much more than Quarantine 1. The characters and acting are better, although I realize that isn't saying much.

The problem goes even deeper than that. Not only do these people fail to see the flaws in Quarantine, but they fail to see the beauty in Rec. The only reason it appeals to them is because it has blood and violence. Everything else just goes over their heads. Again, I'll reference 5:32 in Part 1 because it serves as a good litmus test. Do they not see the actors in Rec pouring their hearts out into their performances? It's the difference between realistic, and nauseatingly forced.

I think the acting on REC was superior (more realistic) but the "massacre" was "better" on Quarantine (more bodies). About the subtitles: I am not American so don't I mind reading subtitles. He said "The door locked behind me". Drums are after because it's the most fucking ridiculous plot device I've ever seen (It's a fucking joke). The writers couldn't think of a reason why they couldn't easily escape the dog, so they have the door lock behind them. The line has terrible delivery, and the door closes way after he sees the dog. He says it's locked but you hear no turning of the handle or anything. I can't relate to anyone who thinks the two movies are on the same level.

REC is an amazing film IF you're Spanish.

Quarantine was made for people who speak English. So they can focus more on the danger, rather than what is being said. It's as simple as that.

Quarantine also happens to be a better movie, in my opinion. Yes, it's a carbon-copy remake, but the explaination for the carnage makes more sense in the remake.

REC is about the supernatural (demonic possession) yet Quarantine has a more realistic approach (advanced rabies, chemical weapons)

I was lucky enough to have seen Rec before Quarantine so I don't know how much it will ruin. I've seen both now and can still enjoy the good one so go for it. As for Paranormal Activity, I thought it was decent and was enjoying it more as this movie that nobody knew anything about before it exploded. People suddenly went from saying that it was the scariest thing ever to saying that it was stupid and didn't scare them at all. I thought it was fun and interesting to watch with

the budget it had especially. Steven Spielberg ruined the ending though. Somehow he thought it would be better if he turned the movie into one of those youtube videos that had the face going at the screen for no reason at all. I could have thought of a better ending than that, and I did. It's not a movie for everyone, but it's not terrible enough for me to be making a review of it. Who knows? Maybe the sequel will be.

But I was still able to dismiss that and really be effected by this movie like i was squirming cuz of the claustrophobic atmosphere of the apartment halls.
