  • Total brilliance.

  • @Blondi101MPA FUCKING BUMDER

  • @GymMaurison read below. :)

  • I think, the reason he is holding that roman picture is because, he likes them. And no one around knows that. So he likes to be like: "A MAGESTIC TYRANT. A WARRIOR OF HIS OWN KIND! A MILITARY LEADER AND A RULER OF HIS LANDS. HE STANDS READY TO DEFEND AND TO APPROACH THE ENEMY TO ANNIHILATE IT. HIS BRAVE EYES LOOK OUT TO THE SKY AND SEE THROUGH HORIZONT. HE DOES NOT SEE THE END OF LAND.. THE MIGHTY SUN! THE MIGHTY WARRIOR AND DEFENDER OF LAW AND SUPREME ORDER"!

  • lol Im a librarian, and I still think this is hilarious.

  • What's the deal with the picture???

It looks like John Cleese in a roman uniform

  • Wow, this seems to be the policy of my own library...

  • "Why this deception!?"

  • Mr. Fips!

  • "Oook!"

  • Wirklich extrem witzig!

  • hahaha rofl so funny

  • Oook..

  • Some time before Monty Python our good friend Franz Kafka wrote an essay 'Address to an Academy' in which a Gorilla described how he had learnt to behave like a human being. Some of Kafka's other stuff is pretty comic too. The scene in 'The Trial' in front of the initial hearing could well be out of Monty Python, and there are others!

  • this so reminds me of Discworld

  • Is there an Orangutang in the library? No, but ask the Librarian.

"that isn't a man! That is an Orang-u-Tang, from Bhang-Bhang-Duc and nearby islands!"

"Very good, Mr. Pessimal. Not many get that right."

  • @jmm1233 true!

  • i love how graham chapman is staring at that picture.

  • Looks like apefirmitive action.

  • Librarians round the world adore this sketch, and many of us have Eric Idle's line about employing "wild animals as librarians" posted on their walls.

  • No, it's just nonsense. So is opposing affirmative action.

  • lol

  • lol "what was that picture?"

  • haha Eric's a monkey. :D

    -hugs him-

  • The Gorilla is Eric Idle xD

  • First an ape, than an Autobot...he's brilliant. :D

  • It's the Librarian of the Unseen University! (anyone who's read Terry Pratchett will understand...)

  • not quite though, it not being an aggressive orang-utan who was previously a wizard but prefers the effect of the accident caused by a failed experiemnt...

  • agressive? hes not agressive!

    ugh!

  • Only if you use the m-word though.

  • Oh man! I was just thinking that! :-)

  • @thenouv -- I was watching the clip and thinking, "Everyone knows librarians are orangutans!" :D

  • @thenouv yeah!

  • @thenouv wasn't that an orangutan? ;)

  • @thenouv they'll understand you've confused a gorilla with an orang-utan.

  • Affirmative action for animals - too funny. Brilliant!

  • ah,Mr.pattinson,SIT!

  • Terry changes his voice at 01:08 :P

    I liked this one! x)

  • Terry Pratchett! haha! That's my only react.

  • LOve that Monty Python!

  • applicants! not africans ..

  • omg I'm lucky to be allive! I just laughed and gagged for 5 minutes straight after watching this, trying to picture somebody going into the library complaining about a damaged book, and all of the sudden this door opens, and this gorilla leaps out, and grabbs the book, and bite into their arm! omg!

  • Ah, Mister Paterson. Sit!

  • Terry's parted hair!! Ha haaaa!

  • a little bit like terry pratchett's discword had an orangutang as a librarian

    hmm

  • I know! Do you know which came first? It's getting on my nerves...

  • I was thinking about it to :)

  • i think it might have been mr.pratchett

OMG the colour of magic is coming out on sky!

  • Maybe he should have said "Ook"

  • Maybe he should. lol I <3 both MP AND TP.

  • aye!

  • oh yay eric lol tis a sporting good chap : )

  • Mr.Robertson savaged 3 people and had to be destroyed! hahaha AWWSUMM!!!

  • Is that Eric in that gorilla suit? It sounds a lot like him.

  • i believe so good sir

  • Do you think Terry Pratchett was inspired by this, with his orang outan Librarian.

  • I was wondering the same thing before I even saw your comment!

  • That is exactly what I was thinking! nice :)

  • Lol, yeah, I was wondering the same...

  • well, i was asking me that too ^^

  • It's humor! This video is obviously refearing to unemployed people who would do anything to get a job.

  • I love the last few seconds of this.

  • I love how the guy in the monkey suit moves around in his chair :D

  • Very good. The Monty Python group were insane, but geniuses. Make sure to watch their films (Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Life of Brian, The Meaning of Life), they are spectacularly funny. My librarian is a sloth... dull and boring... but can get angry when off by a certain person especially who I can mention...

  • mr phipps.....KONG!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow...that was hilarious!! It rocked!! : )

    Love it!

  • LONG LIVE MONTY PYTHON!!!

  • longer i live :P

  • Get out! Mister Librarian Phipps, seeing as you're not a gorilla, but only dressed up as one trying to decieve us in order to further your career!

  • Ook!

  • Wow...so that's where Terry Pratchatt got it XD

  • I must say that A) I haven´t seen this sketch and B) NOW I start to get an inkling where Pratchett got his librarian-idea from, even if it was subconscious. :D

  • My favorite librarian quote! You should see my library afterschool - you have to be able to tame the savage beast! Thanks for posting this!

  • love monty python and love more that they did a librarian skit...

  • It's pretty funny. kinda weird though..
