Tires plus stores in the Denver area are nothing more than adult daycare's. I personally, and many other people including employees. Say that they are ripoffs. Numerous complaints of overcharging practices. Replacing parts that are perfectly good. Insisting to the customer that recommended repairs be done to solve their problem. Only to find out that after paying for the recommended repairs. That wasn't even the problem. Leaving the customer with a huge bill and the same problem.

That's why you do stuff your self. Obviously it over heats. First check your coolant, then Check your thermostat, if that's good check your hoses, if there good check your water pump, then you might need a new head gasket and if you over heated it a lot you might of warped the head then you need to get that re surfaced, then check your block to see if it's warped. The lesson, maintain your car properly. The CEL and SES light doesn't come on for no reason.

Now everybody calm down. The reason the Nissan overheated is because the owner probably decided to run it low on coolant. Aftermarket parts will affect the stock performance. The Nissan catalysts are junk. Did anyone ever scan it? Or better yet, is it near 100 grand? The proper diagnosis could lead to something completely different. I know you check your youtube comments. They got me also on new tires installed them then told me they wouldn,t warranty them unless they replaced a tierod end that was .001 out of tolerance...0 was the tolerance....So $187 bucks ..I told them well screw your warranty because if the tire was to wear uneven it would void the warranty anyway!! Rule number one if you suspect something has a problem with it take it in rightaway. First of all- WHY WERE YOU DRIVING THE CAR HOT?NEVER do that! Once the needle reached the far side of the hot, you pull over safely and turn your engine off! You could have done more damage by doing just that then anything else--------- Also, I doubt that idle problem is serious. On a 4 cyl, there is only so much that can go wrong. If the chain is off, then it can be corrected. You aren't really out $4,200. They probably fixed the problem. Just messed a few things up putting it back together.

@Magicman1264 the judge I had was a meathead, I had paper work from the other mechanics stating their fuck up, the timing chain was placed on wrong and I drove it as it was and they (TIRES PLUS) did some other shit to my car to burn out my wire harness out. The judge refused to call the mechanic as listed on paper and ended my case. Tires Plus is bull shit and I'll always put that out there no matter what, unless they buy me a whole new car, then I'll shut up.

That is a temperature gauge, C means the engine/coolant is Cold, so take her easy until the gauge reaches about halfway depending on the vehicle. H means seriously overheated, Pull over as soon as it is safe and turn the engine off and either fix it or get it towed.

You know something is terribly, terribly wrong when you hear the engine rattling and revving slightly, but unexpectedly. That is why the reputable dealers that sold it to you almost always emphasize over why they hope that you will take it to your official dealer. The guys that built it and have spend years and decades servicing these manufacturer-specific makes and models will know it best. You really did have a problem, but I am usually skeptical of those "check engine" lights.

What everybody is missing is the fact that the mechanic is suppose to test drive any car he repairs after he has finished his job to make sure their are no further issues. If there is then the service manager needs to be notified and he should then tell the customer. Did they ever tell you what the DTC's were for the check engine light to be on?

The idiot tech there took the chain off, didn't note the position of the chain and fucked it up. I have the paper work from the mechanic who fixed it. The only we to get it to heat up that excessive would be to brake stand or put it in park and rev it continuously for hours on end. These 4 cylinders are not that bad and the engine should actually be shutting off if it gets past a certain limit I don't know why yours didnt.

Biggest Mistake: GOING to Tires Plus.

Tires Plus is one of the biggest scam outfits out there right now. Very crooked chain. They ALWAYS try to get you for unneccessary repairs AND their scum "mechanics" mess up simple, routine repairs.

And why would you have a crappy place like Tires Plus do major engine work like a head/headgasket etc. ??  Even the excellent independent tire and auto center (with top-notch mechanics) that I always go to doesn't do major engine work like that.

i am an ASE certified tech, and from the looks of it....you are running your car while it is overheating BEFORE you took it to tires plus..... that my friend will cause serious damage to the head gasket and the head,,,,,( valves seals,and piston rings can not get that hot because they will lose their ability to hold compression, which is very important for engine drivability and idling) so in turn... i think your car was fuckd up before you took it to a maintainance shop, to fix a heavy linejob

O K? What do you NOT understand? The heads are fine! Yes they fixed it, but they didn't assemble the Timing chain on wrong on a SENTRA.

Oh, Morgan Tire & Auto gave me zero customer service. They didn't want to pay for nothing, took them to court, they wanted to only pay half of the damage they caused, I went to court and lost because my technicians did not show up to court like I asked them to and like they agreed.

it is not required for someone to be ASE certified to work on a car. Also being ASE certified does not make you a better mechanic and ASE certified mechanics have mistakes as well. Companys like tires plus have insurance for cases like this so if you came back they would of covered the job. If you think mechanics is easy then learn how to do it yourself and stop complaining when someone makes a mistake. It could of happen anywhere.

Tires Plus did not cause the overheating, they caused my RPM gauge to sputter because they put the timing chain on wrong, they blamed that on me instead of them going back into the head to make sure it was on correctly. The tech who put my timing chain on wasn't even an engine specialist, he was a suspension and steering tech. The timing chain was placed on off of 2 teeth.

I wouldn't use this video as-is to defend your point. Driving your car while it was overheating (no less making a video of it) is asking for trouble. You may very well have damaged your head(s) by doing this, with the symptoms you are now experiencing materializing as you continued to do drive it. It looks like they repaired whatever was causing the overheating, but the damage to the engine may have already been done. Sorry dude.

You're wrong and I have paper work to back this up. Tires Plus did fix the coolant issue. However, when reassembling the head, they removed the TIMING CHAIN. The timing chain wasn't placed correctly, it was off by 2 teeth, hence making the car run rough on idle.
