  • Why do you fight the doors where the rooms are empty?

  • @12chapin When you say you looking at the stats or checking enemies weaknesses, where at you getting the info from?

  • edge looks WAY cooler in psp version

  • is it stil the same if you are playing the re-make version on the psp

  • only problem is im playing the nes version its still titled II

  • lol i came here because i thought i was doing something wrong ends up im just under lvld

  • Much appreciated HC. The inlet also messed with my head. Combed the entire place four times! With the encounter rate, at least I got some beastly XP. Not a total loss. : P

  • That little "Inlet" is what threw me off, couldnt find a way past it. Thanks alot HCBaily.

  • I just got to this part. How close am I to the end?

  • these walkthroughs are SOOO much better than the voiceless unedited ones where i have to either skip or watch EVERY battle and have no idea what the guy is thinking because he wont talk!

THANK YOU BAILLY! without you i would have missed 10 or so of the most important chests!

  • 18 dmg... 1 dmg... 8 dmg... aaaah, good ol' dumbed down american difficulty ^_^

  • How do you get to the sealed cave? I'm flying around on the Falcon and I can't get there.. Is it through another cave or entrance that will get me over there?

  • an easier way to deal with the assault door is to have everyone defend untill you get to rosa then cast reflect on the party member that is targeted. dimension 9 will get reflected and the door will kill itself

  • Hey, Kain ran out of my party! Golbez took him away with a Dark Crystal before i could enter that cave!! Why didn't that happen to you?!!?!?

  • @forsakentoyou earlier in the game, you used the warp glitch to grab the dark crystal (as HCBaily showed in one of his videos). If you check your inventory, you should have a story item called "Dark." Don't worry, this happened to me too. You can simply skip the Sealed Cave at this point, but I wouldn't as there are tons of prizes and a lot of experience to be gained.

  • "when you need it and dont have it, you sing a different tune" - Bert Gummer

    quote from "Tremors" movies

  • i prefer you new videos! you re way more energic

  • Actually you can Reflect back its instant death attack. That's why the game tells you what character is going to be the target.

  • To everyone, I try to balance Cecil stats, so actually the Light Sword is useful. Sure your attack goes down compared to the Defender or the Avenger. But against Undead and for being a Holy weapon, it's actually decent for Cecil. Certainly a great throwing weapon though. :)

  • You know HC... After watching all of your later videos, I don't like those old ones, becosue you sound so... lifeless...

  • 1:41 yes but in the words of Bulma Briefs, "KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!"

  • In the DS version, the Trap Doors have to spend a turn locking on to a character before they can use their insta-kill attack, which means you can just cast Reflect on the target and have the door kill itself. Makes the Sealed Cave so damn easy, the only reason I hate it so much is because the rope-climbing animations take so damn long.

  • @MigeulP Also works on the GBA version. I also agree about the ropes, but on the DS version, they take longer but looks cooler.

  • @drmattisinthehouse I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing. I just wish we had the option of skipping them.

  • @MigeulP In the DS, some scenes are skippable. That's a good thing.

  • i can't find the sealed cave... T.T

  • When I first walked into the Sealed Cave, Golbez took control of Kain and Kain left my party! What did I do wrong?!

  • @BlackBlueLagoon The same thing just happened to me. The cutscene that is supposed to happen after the sealed cave happened before i even opened the door. Which version are you playing?

  • @chairfighters the PS re-release. If you watch the next video, he explains why that happened. (Hint, it was a glitch we exploited much earlier in the game)

  • @BlackBlueLagoon The dark crystal must've somehow glitched it's way into your inventory, because that's what triggers the cutscene.

  • Thank god I managed to survive the sylph cave, the phantom world is next for me.

  • @HCBailly Hi, I have another FF I think, cuz it's called Trap door in mine, but where do you get teh AvengerSword?

  • @videowatchright The Avenger sword comes out of the Sylph cave. You have the original US version of FF4 (2) if they're called "Trap Door".

  • @lovesthebass from sylph cave? I hate that cave T.T There are green spots that kill me, well, weaken me, and the monsters are too strong. All of my allies are around lvl 30 or higher... And I can't defeat the trap doors and stuff... Train at Tower of Babil? From which level is it recommended to go to Sylph cave, and Cave of summons? I'm halfway Cave of Summons, but those spots are there too... Wht is recommended level to go into sylph ad summon cave?

  • @lovesthebass oh, and btw, so, Avenger sword is at Sylph Cave, but wheres the Ninja/Fullmoon? And the Defensesword? Btw, got at the Cav eof summons, or at Sylph cave, dunno really where, but got the Silencerod, for Rosa.

  • @videowatchright You can get through Sylph cave and Cave of Summons as soon as Rosa gets the spell Float. Use it on everyone every floor to bypass damage from the tiles. The Avenger and Fullmoon boomerang come from the same room in Sylph cave, and the Defense sword comes from a chest in the Cave of Summon. Leviathan and Asura are both from the Land of Summoned Monsters. There are two main paths in Sylph cave, so you'll have to go through that twice.

  • @videowatchright The Ninja sword also comes from the Cave of Summon. In one of a three chest secret passage that also contains the Poison Axe (which sucks).

  • I usually killed the trap doors before they even used their instant death. >___>

  • @lovesthebass what's your trick?

  • @videowatchright Being a little overleveled usually, by soloing on Mt. Ordeals for a while. That and having the Avenger sword, Defense sword and Ninja/Fullmoon. Usually three shot by Cecil, Kain and Edge before they do the instant death attack, even if not you can get a virus spell in from Rydia before it does it as well.

  • @lovesthebass And where to get those other summons for rydia like leviathan and Ashura? Just by training? Or going to the cave of summons to use it with the land of summons to get new? Srr about nagging, just want to get further in the game xD

  • ...a little bit. Thats... uh this is HCBaily signing off, have a good day! XD lol

srry srry i thought it was funny

  • 6:58

i thought you said ''take that, frence!'' sinds hes equiped with the baret =P

  • I have a question, I need to know where you got the LUKA key ? If you could let me know I'd appreciate your help.

    Thanks DJ

  • There's never a shortage of Ethers in this game lol, compared to some other FF games when its hard to find, or cost a crazy amount of gil

  • "They just die." lol

  • All those traps! Where's Admiral Akbar when you need him?

  • it's a trap it's a trap it's a trap

  • Meh they just die.. thats all lol PERFECT!!!

  • 1:40

    I LOVE THAT QUOTE!

  • yh same mines 7 7 all the way lol

  • i played all of the final fantasys in order from 1 to 12 n i never figured out what the pheonix down did till final fantasy x so i never died woo go me lol

  • what was ur favorite ff game

out of all them mine was 7

  • i like 4 the most

  • cain left my party at this scene?

  • Is it just me, or do the poses for the Miss Vampire look like that of the Cloud of Darkness?

  • bwahahahahahahahaha in ffiv for the ds you can reflect the ninth dimension spell back at the doors

  • You can do that in the SNES version, except one character has to die first. After that, wait for the next targeting spell thing and cast reflect on him or her. Worked 4 me.

  • "They just die, that's all they do" XD

  • The trap doors are even easier in the DS version, because you can just give Cecil the Draw Attacks augment and cast reflect on him- the door will then proceed to kill itself.

  • What i do is have Rosa cast Reflect on the targeted party member. Easy battle. XD

  • I think you're "supposed" to go to this area before the Phantom & Sylph caves, which is why they give you the Light Sword here and the Avenger "later." I always come here first, beat all the trap doors so that Rosa can learn Reflect & Levitate, take all the treasure, play the sidequest caves, then beat the boss of this place.

  • "I wish my keys did that..."

    ROFL.

  • when your were fighting those bats Edge did 1337.

  • Woah, I just noticed that, Good call. :P

  • I usually always have Rydia summon Leviathan to kill the trap doors instantly. It's only when you don't deal enough damage in time that the door becomes another monster. I remember that the monster's exp. is added onto the exp. of the trap door, giving you more after the battle ends, but for argument's sake, killing the door with Leviathan works just as well, and my levels weren't that much, Rosa hadn't learned Cure 4 yet, lol.

  • In the GBA version of the game the trap doors need more time to cast the instant death spell. There you can just cast Reflect on the party member the door 'targeted' to instant-kill the door itself.

  • another great video, as always. when i was watching the first trap door battle, i remembered a good strategy for them. all you need to do is wait until the trap door locks on to someone, then cast reflect on the locked-on character, and the trap door will kill itself. i hope this helps

  • Wow, that's all you, at your level, need to do to take down the doors?

    Damn :O

  • Is the boss of door in this cave?? (I don't remember, but there's a boss in one of the game that moves near constantly and must be beaten faster.)

  • no that's final fantasy 12

  • I don't think so, there might be other games beside 12 because I didn't play 12.

  • That's Final Fantasy 7, there is a huge door/wall thingy in the temple of the ancients that closes in on you, but if you use Aeris' final limit you can just ignore being fast cos he'll deal zero damage with the squeeze attack or whatever else anyway

  • I see. I don't play 7, either.

  • Haha actually you were right all along, it is THIS game here, just a bit later

  • I like how Cecil is surprised at each trap door. You'd think after like 10 doors in a row being a trap he would be like "A trap?!"

  • Hehe yeah, in the GBA version he says something along the lines of "The door suddenly transformed into a monster!" You'd think that he's get tired of saying the same thing over and over again.

  • Wouldn't it be more helpful to make use of the rat tail right now?

  • You can't do that until after the Sealed Cave.

  • Oh that's right. That would explain why you also haven't done the smack-down cook-out.

  • It's a trap!!!

  • No, rly, I think they shoulda said that instead of "A trap?"

  • nice!

  • Does it make a difference which hand Edge either weapon in?

  • I've looked into this and couldn't really see that it did. In FF2 however, it's kind of important that you pay attention to this though.

  • It sounds weird to me having the boomerang hit after the sword strike.

Also, I prefer to have the weapons, that I'm likely to switch with the boomerang, directly below for easier switching.

As far as damage output goes, Edge is ambidextrous, so it doesn't really matter.

  • many trap doors! I don't rememberr them!

  • I have been playing along with your videos on the GBA version, and though I've walked through this game many times before, your videos have given me insight that I probably would have never gotten by myself, plus a whole bunch of other cool fun facts. Very well done on these videos; I will be looking forward to the rest of 'em.

  • The only difference is you don't do the Cave Of Trials in this version, nor the Chronicles version for the PS.

  • well, it looks like your coming up to the hardest boss in the game

  • The boss is easy. If you notice carefully, the bosses and enemies in game attack in patterns.

  • well when I was a kid this was the ONLY boss to ever kill me, and yes I know they attack in patterns.

  • Ahhhh. I know how that feels. For some reason, When I was a key, The sad theme gave me nightmares. For Some unknown reason.

  • I really like to watch your videos. i hope you're making another "Let's Play" after this one :)

  • Thanks. The NES fan translation of FF2 is highly likely to be my next one.

  • NICE! I really lookin forward to it :)

  • cool,i really enjoy these vids

  • what program do you use to record these?

  • CamStudio.

  • @HCBailly how do you use camstudio when i use it it works but doesnt record sound

  • Either its hypercam, camtasia or camstudio..i prefer camtasia.

  • i've been away for a looooooong time.
