  • la simpatia fatta misica GRANDI!

  • Ron Jeremy plays a mean guitar

  • @mikeandmike LOL

  • actually the guy on the right is Romane, the one on the left is Stochelo.

  • I like this!

  • WOW,

  • @lioz51092

lol quote! and he lols too!

  • 5 *****STARS !

  • such a great groove at the start... not one you see in gypsy jazz much

  • *O*!!!!!!

  • wes is a boss!

  • AMAZING!!! Thanks for posting these marvelous artists!

  • just the best,thanks so much...peace...m_

  • why is the hole so small?

  • from what I read this guitar sounds way louder than any other. Guess it kinda concentrate the sound. I haven't seen this type of guitar, the selmer maccaferri, in any other style of music.

Tho I'd really like to have one myself and try to do some manouche metal.

  • you can have one for about 3,500 $ I guess.

  • those guitars(called manouche maccaferri)are luthier made....the most famous luthiers are MAurice Dupont and Stefan Hal,they run from 2100 to about 16000 euros.the only brand who makes industrial series is Saga guitars, prices from about 400 to 1400

  • it has a shorter scale aswell, so it doenst drag out the sound as much as a normal acoustic guitar.

  • @MSlabyrinthian : why is the hole so small? For what Maurice Dupont told me it's because at that time they were no amp so they needed loud sound to be hear when a sax or trumpet was playing. That's also why you can also have a "caisse de resonance" in a selmer guitar. (piece of wood to amplify the sound)

  • @LatchesPH what gypsy guitar are they using? i think its a django replica one

  • @joshua9312

Selmer-Maccaferri replica...Really this guitar are the "petit bouche", second period after Maccaferri left the Selmer..

  • @andros1961 I think the one on the right (Stochelo's) is actually an original Selmer that might have belonged to Django (number 504).

  • *O*!!!

  • Beautiful stuff!

    Thanks again. :-)

  • Stochelo's rhythm is unbelievably dry.. awesome :)

  • I use both the Dunlop Jazz III picks and a bone pick I made. They work for me. Some people glue two or three Fender heavy picks together. I have made picks for people out of coconut shell, and some like the agate picks. It's all in what you're used to I guess.

  • Does anyone know the type of pickup that Stochelo is using on his guitar?

  • people say you need to use a turtle shell pick to get that sound, i beg to differ and so does bireli lagrene. He uses basic fender/dupont hard and thick picks and sounds fantastic.

  • I use Dawg bluegrass mandolin picks. They do wonders.

  • @sintygypsy, I agree with you, many players also use the handmade ''wegen picks'', i tried the 5mm and 3,5mm, the 5mm is a little too thick for my taste but that 3,5mm is great, i always use it.. but everyone likes different ones, just try a lot of different picks:D

  • oleoleoleoleoleoleoleoè !!!!!!

  • the two gypsies are paling guitar.wow.thank god im gypsy,

  • Does anyone know what pickups they're using?

  • they use big tone pickups it is a transducer fitted in the bridge of the gutar they cost around £130 or $260 they also have mics to fill the sound out for ambience but the bigtone is what all the gypsy jazz guitarists use

  • .. You are right.. Stochelo once gave me his pickup.. And it´s really strange.. But it´s better than any pickup I´ve ever seen..

  • no they're not using bigtones, they're using audio technica lavaleer mics. AT 831

  • ehm.. that´s just your opinion..

  • what do you mean that's my opinion, it's the truth, hahaha

  • stochelo was staying at my house the entire weekend, we spent 4 days gigging and recording, i think i kind of know what he uses... but thanks for the insults

  • Well.. As I wrote before - Stochelo once gave me his favourite guitar pick and I still have it. It is not that pick you´re describing. So don´t be so cocksure. I didn´t insult you seriously; take it easy..

  • i wasn't talking about pick, i was talking about pickup... his favorite picks are the bigcity wegen picks , but he's used many others... we just spent the entire weekend filming 2 instructional dvds on the style of stochelo rosenberg that I am producing

  • .. Oh, I am really sorry, I didn´t notice it.. You probably saw him during his last trip to Montreal, didn´t you? He hates travelling by a plane, so I guess he isn´t there so often, haha.. Do u have something from those instructional dvds?

  • yes i am the one who arranged the trip and produced the DVD, clips will be up soon, so check youtube regularly... we filmed 2 DVDs

  • dude how you can query someone who spends 4 days giging, recording and sharing a toilet with Stochello?

  • a) if you consider this as an argument, than.. lol

    b) it was a misunderstanding, i thought he'd written something else..

    c) "i am the one" .. lol..

don't crack by a pride, you bubble.. :-)

  • If you are still in contact with him, please tell Stochelo that I would truely be lost in the world without his music. He is my hero.

  • Awesme ...this is totall cool!

  • amazing musicians

  • Anyone know what kind of pickups they're using? they capture the Selmer sound pretty well I reckon-much better than pickups in other clips I've seen.

(please send me a message if you reply-I'm SURE I'll forget I posted this).

  • nice version

  • my ears/my view . .here are 2 of about a dozen others of this genru style . . .outstanding . . .j-ok

  • Nah...there is a lot more than a dozen. But I admit that players of that caliber are hard to come by.

  • i have this entire concert, it's so amazing, true gypsy guitar masters.
