I'm shocked at how many close calls I saw in this video alone, you're gonna get bitten if you haven't already :( lol, man I hope u have antivenom in arms reach there
I noticed that you grabbed the neck a bit to low there and yeah like you said, slipped a bit, I raised 3 eastern diamondbacks "nowhere near to what you deal with" but I also found myself getting way too comfortable and "cocky", I almost took a bite one day while I was helping him shed. "stupid" but what I would do when I needed to work with him without holding the neck was to stick him in the freezer for a minute, getting him super slow then working with him and thats how I almost got hit
that was funny al i actually laughed for about a minute when you said hey relax to the red male you never mentioned their name well besides that you said relax and then in the snake talk you said i am relaxed im trying to kill you that was funny!
Hi Al, I had to watch you feeding the baby Kings again because last night I met up with a 4 meter King on the steps of a local temple. Nobody could go up or down the steps and I arrived just in time. A friend of mine handed me a stick and said, "YOU CATCH SNAKES". I said, what is it? He said KING COBRA on step 380. How big? 4m. I said, NOPE. I got it off the steps and down into the bamboo thicket they love so much. Amazing snake. Not afraid of me at all. Came at me twice as I pushed his tail.
hi I'm from Indonesia,,, here a lot of baby king cobra but each in the preserve,,, must die because they just want to eat other snakes,,,, whether in this way can survive as a pet?
Hey Al, a long while back you used a pinkie pump in a vid and I haven't seen it since. Any particular recommendations for or against for people keeping fussy snakes?
if your gonna say crap like that, then don't watch the videos!!! Thx viperkeeper, very entertaining and wow amazing how you can hold one of them and still talk to the camera
Wow,great vid again Al. A slick king cobra in your hand, talk about needing nerves of steel, haha. Seems like it would be pretty easy to slip up and get tagged.
Great video! You said that the easiest way to get the mouth of a baby king to open for you is with a credit card. That reminds me of my ex-girlfriend!
Hey Al, let me say first off the kings look lovely, I'm sure their bite is far less! Now out of curiosity have you ever/ever considered keeping any Chinese Vipers? of any type?
wow that doesnt look fun too bad we dont have real feeder reptiles or that they cant switch to rodents at hatching it would be interesting to watch them eat snakes we need feeders other than rodents and common inverts some aphids and flies would be appreciated maybe some bullfrogs for feeder amphibians american toads newts and for snakes garters corns kings any would do kings would put up more of a fight
when baby Kings shed out how fast do they grow in terms of size i know that most kings get to be between 12-15 ft long and they really arent pleasent during ther shed it's gotta be hard to forcefeed work with the camara talk to the us and keep the snake under control good job r u keeping any of these guys or r they all headed for zoo's? and is buzzard still in the lair or did he finally move onto a zoo?
They will be about 6 ft in the first year. They are unassigned right now, so not sure where they will end up. Buzzard is at a Zoo living the good life.
thats the understatement of the year. THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE
Hey Al, I have athought for you after watching this video.I noticed you have to struggle alot with their bodies while trying to feed them and work with them.I thought maybe if you get a piece of that hollow foam (3 inch ) and cut it longways, you could lay their bodies inside the slit and have much better control, I don't know, it's just a thought after watching you struggle many times with their tales and bodies, maybe it could help you out and help you avoid a bite, Cheers ~Lee
@mykidsdad36 BTW to clarify what I was referring to with the foam.I was speaking of that Hollow Foam tubing people use for protection on bikes and pipes and so forth, anyways just wanted to make sure you knew what i was talking about, didn't want you to think I was completely a nut!-LOL Cheers, ~Lee
you can just get feeder snakes frozen, thaw a chunk out, sew it to a mouse or rat, then theyll eat that (naturally being snake eaters). eventually you can wean them off of the snake chunk. that way they dont stress out and that way you dont have to force feed them their whole life. i know you have been working with hots for a long time but i dont know if you have heard of that method or not. because if they're force fed they will just stop wanting to eat.
Well if you just sit down one day and pre sew a few feedings worth that way youre not doing it every day. I dont know. I hate feeding snakes to other snakes because I love all snakes, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Otherwise they'll be picky eaters and only eat when forced.
Snake poop and urine smells so bad when they expell it because of fear. I don't think I could even make that smell in the toilet after eating 6 tacos at taco bell.
Just a thought, but aren't there some type of snakes that breed easily in captivity? I'm pretty big into aquariums and some fish are VERY easy to breed and others are not. I would assume snakes are the same, no?

Why do you feed them something they don't like to eat?
lawnsausages 2 weeks ago
@lawnsausages Because they would starve or I would have to feem them rat snakes, which I don't like to do.
viperkeeper 2 weeks ago
@viperkeeper OK understand. What's the market? If you don't mind me asking, is it all about antivenin?
lawnsausages 2 weeks ago
@lawnsausages The market of what? King should not be kept unless you have A/V on hand.
viperkeeper 2 weeks ago
@viperkeeper I'm asking why you do it? Do you sell venom?
lawnsausages 1 week ago
@lawnsausages There is no market for venom. I sell animals to the venom labs.

do they learn to eat on there own after a while ?? i hope so cos doing that to an adult would be maddness :) haha

Me, I use a cotton swab to clean the ears, then I removed the cotton on both sides.
Then I put my baby cobra (Naja kaouthia Thai) upright, I place the rod in his mouth in a horizontal position, so that the mouth
remains open.
Once put the baby mouse, or chicken heart, or as geckos, I removed the rod of his mouth to push the food at the bottom of the gorge.
I also made my Elaphe gutattus.
But sometimes, its very difficult, because the jaw is very fragile!
