great song, not the same exact sound as ccr glory, but very great anyway, it could have been one of their classics had it been released afetr they got a little fame very good song , but haven't heard a song by ccr and john fogerty after ccr that i didn't like
Thanks Pauley!! Never heard this before and really like it. I guess I need to get that boxed set.
I often wonder about the stuff they did that John didn't think was good enough at the time [and threw away]. I'm sure it was better than most bands' released stuff.
This is essentially a reworking of the Four Tops' "It's The Same Old Song," but it's still a good tune in it's own right. I especially like the key change for the second bridge at 1:23.
There's a Spencer Davis Group song that this sounds like, too.
Actually, the Golliwogs had changed to Creedence Clearwater Revival by the time this song was released. The A-side was "Porterville", their first single.
Yeah, apparently the name change came about in the last few months of 1967 and this single was out just in time to have the Creedence moniker on the 45.
God, they put out so many songs before they were famous.
Amazing , i love CCR

@TeamMastaPr2 Please stop pointing out the dislike ratings. Way too many people do that and it gets really annoying.

Good thing John Fogerty developed the whole swamp music angle. They were going nowhere with this Motown type stuff.

Damn, I cannot get enough of this song. John's voice is just awesome on this. Definitely not Tom on vocals here.

Man if this song isn't influenced by the Four Tops (It's the Same Old Song) then it would be a CRAZY coincidence! I love it!

Haven't noticed that but it certainly has the sound that we would hear on their later stuff.

This could've been an insane single. I'm 26 and this is in my top 5 singles of the 60s.

One of my favorite guitarist singers. He's even better today guitar wise and vocally.
