  • it's just a different style. He's a fucking shredder, slash isn't.

  • Extremely good solo but i think it doesn"t fit the whole song great!

  • Buckethead is my god!

  • i cant count how many fingers he has?

  • 0:51-0:54 HE ISN'T EVEN LOOKING AT THE GUITAR

  • I think this was BH's finest moment as far as Nightrain solos goes. Slash's Nightrain solo in '92 Argentina is a good one too

  • Here's how I look at it Slash is like the author, and Buckethead is the Illustrator, Slash writes the story, Buckethead paints a picture.

  • I love Slash, as most people do. His inventiveness and originality is what sets him apart and makes him who he is, but Buckethead knows how to make things more melodic to the listener and that's why even though I love Slash, Buckethead just as great of a guitarists but it's like comparing apples and oranges, two completely different fruits, some people prefer apples others oranges.

  • I can just imagine the hugest grim on his face under that mask :)

  • is not better than the original but it's good too

  • FUCK ALL YOU DISLIKERS!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:50 i wonder what he was looking at ??

  • @thejordanfusco brain(the drummer) maybe

  • OLD GUNS N' ROSES KICKS ASS !

  • Reminds me of Megaman 2.

  • I think Paul Gilbert is the best, because Paul Gilbert is teacher of Buckethead.

  • @ramavengenz take a look at Pebber Brown, HE taught Buckethead and also takes time to make video lessons on here too! well worth watching if you're a guitarist

  • Nightrain solo?!!

    Sounds like anything but

  • I think that Buckethead just might be the Greatest Guitar player in history who doesn't have the last name Zappa. Sorry Vai fans

  • Check out Buckethead's Nightrain Solo in Rock in Rio (I think III) it's mad...

  • How!? HOW The hell does he play like that!!? Amazing!!!!!

  • I went to this show with my ex-boyfriend and another friend of mine. I liked GN'R but I was upset to find out Axl was the only original member performing. But holy fuck did Buckethead blow everyone away that night. I never heard of the guy untill Axl introduced him, and I can remember how crazy the crowd went when he played his solo. I even remember a lot of people wear KFC buckets on their heads that night lol. Good times.

  • @boludo1995

    You are a feeling/soul.

  • what shit did bucket eat ?May i have some?

  • 42 : The answer to life universe and everything, including the number of people with assholes where ears should be.

  • he's not a musician, he's a robot.

  • Buckethead actually raped that fret.

  • ... and worlds exploded.

  • Comment removed

  • @PeKay91 Buckethead didn't join GnR. GnR joined Buckethead.

  • NoONE can replace SLASH.

  • sorry buck fans, but nothing can beat slash. NOTHING

  • @lwyyys Nothing can beat Buckethead. NOTHING

  • "what is music to me is not music to most"

    Buckethead

  • nice melodic solo BUCKETHEAD!!

your are my 2nd best guitarist behind randy rhoads!!

  • I like slash but i have to admit, buckethead kicks slash ass, but i have to say too, no soul, no music.

  • @PositiveZ08 Who has no soul and how don't they?

  • @nemovgi Buckethead has no Soul while playin'.

  • @PositiveZ08 How not? I've seen him playing amazing ballads and there felt like there was plenty of soul behind the music. Just because he is behind a mask and you can't see him pulling facial expressions doesn't mean he has no soul.

  • im gonna be him for halloween

  • Wow, I am in AWE!!!

  • @toofattothegrave slash didn't really write the solo on this video, as NOTHING of the original solo is left. It's all Buckets.

  • @kburr12345 Not sure but I think he's probably only playing his character.

  • @kburr12345 Buckethead is musical savant.

  • @Georgiew1 no he's not, he's a normal person, it's all an act, the joke is on you

  • @cbarrett34 Too bad your opinion doesn't mean anything to me.

  • @kburr12345 no he doesn't, he's normal, it's all an act

  • @kburr12345 Either that or he's an alien... or just faking it

  • @kburr12345 nah i saw him in real life and he seems pretty normal =p

  • @kburr12345 nah, he´s just weird and awesome!

  • @kburr12345 maybe he has? if he would have autism and he wouldnt wear a mask and wouldnt ''play'' his alter eg buckethead, he wouldnt be accepted by the fucking music industry and many people, unfortunately ... think about it.

  • @kburr12345 i hink he's jus acting

  • @kburr12345 Some form of GENIUS

  • GnR was only Buckethead's backing band

  • Gotta love 00:50

"Hey I am in the big screen!"

  • Slash is far superior , tho this is pretty good i must say !!

  • @slash129 slash can't hold his pick

  • people seem to forget that no matter whos playing the solo, ron, bucket or slash, theyre all just fooling around in a minor scale, which is a pretty basic thing to do when youve been playing for years. you just gotta be creative with it. People should be able to appreciate each guys take on it for what it is and stop fighting over who does it better.

  • Buckethead could play this solo with his right testicle and still blow away Slash!

  • Buckethead is like guitar incarnate. I have never heard a guitarist like him.

In regards to GnR... I think most people would say SLASH is as much GnR as Axl Rose. Slash and Bucket are very different guitarists. Having Buckethead in GnR is like having Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, or Satch joining GnR. They are MASTERS of the guitar, but them replacing Slash is like replacing George Harrison of the Beatles with Buckethead. A better player, but how can you replace an original band member.

  • @toofattothegrave buckethead wrote this version of the solo the two sound nothing alike slash plays it much slower and uses less notes buckethead plays it faster and uses more echo.

  • @Vizzix he didnt wrote this , he inprovise it ;) liek at all his life videos, he is a master of improvisation

  • we all know that buckethead is faster, but slash plays it with "balls", like rock n roll is supposed to be played.

    just my opinion.

  • @beavisvr what balls? buckethead has nunchucks :P

  • This solo gives me the chills. The way it's played is just amazing

  • Wow....... Slush just got PWND at his Own friggin SOLO !!!!!

  • @LikeIToldYouBoy Correct

  • 0:17... seems like hes about to start something AWESOME!!

  • Overall, I like BH better, for this song I like BH better. But there are alot of others he just doesn't do justice to. Old GNR is too bluesy for Buckethead to really fit in.

  • @toofattothegrave this is an improvisation to me, because in the next shows, it will be a little different from this particular episode in albany. so, FOR ME, it is not slash's work!

  • its good but it aint better then the original no way

  • OMFG, this guys is so incredible... and pretty scary too xD

  • buckethead............kicked slashes ass....in this song

  • @awwyeah1234 IN ALL SONGS!!!!

  • tabs? xD =D

  • slash is better...buckethead just repeats the same patterns in every solo...i'm talking about the gnr period..

  • @iamnasty lol dude get some music education if you think that buckethead repeats the same paterns, but actualy slash run the same alt the times

  • @napierdalacz102 yeah sure..

  • @iamnasty almost evry buckethead solo is improved ;)

  • Buckethead runs circles around Slash! I appreciate Slash as a musician, but Buckethead's skills are way more superior =)

  • 1:18 is not enough solo for me... fuck the beginning is too awesome...

  • good stuff!!!

  • Slash always does the same thing buckethead does allways something else(impro) yet it fits if he came to holland i payed 500$ for a ticket my inspiration.

Anyways Buckethead doesn't fit GnR Since GnR doesn't ask any of his musical talent this is just a little jam for him

  • just like axl bucket can play many instrument, many style of music and sound great in all of them, versatility

shame ax didnt get CD out befor 04, i would concede a dis full of (brilliant no doubt) demos just for bucket to stay

  • @ 0:22 - 0:28 lol STARPOWER FTMFW

  • not better than the original.

  • he'd be better of in a metal band, solos like this are amazing but not for this song

  • He does good in almost any band you can solo in, and this solo is AMAZING!

  • Don't talk shit about Slash's version. They are two completely different things.

It's not like Slash was even remotely interested in insane shred or bred for it by Paul Gilbert.

Slash was a kid from the 70's who loved blues and hard rock, was self taught, and can handle that 5 note blues scale like no ones fkn business.

Especially anyone's who thinks they can put his solos in line behind anyone else's.

  • @kashguitar i agree with all of that apart from the self-taught bit, it says in his book he had a teacher

  • slashs solo rapes this one this is fukin gay and repitive

  • You're comparing two completely different styles lol, they are both equally as godly in their own way!

  • GOD i wish i could play that...o.o

  • buckethead

    MY FAVORITE GUITARIST EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    U rOcK

  • Way better than the original solo, way better.

  • "take it!" he sure took it!!!

  • its have bin cool if buckethead and slash have play together

  • that would be amazing.. taking turns soloing or even playing in harmony?

  • Wow he's really in to it... Don't fall asleep buddy.

  • he thing i hate about people who can't shred is they're ALWAYS like "speed isn't everything!!!", but lemme give you a fuckin' newsflash, emotion isn't everything either. it's another technique on the guitar, just like shredding, emotion means shit when you're some depressed kid jamming 4 notes on a boring pentatonic. then you have people like buckethead who know how to use shredding right, and now they're rich famous guitarists

  • music isnt about being rich and famous dip shit. ill let u figur out wat music REALLY is

  • Comment removed

  • damn i jizzed everywhere lol

  • i like slashs style but i like bucketheads music

  • @drevil49 no shit, you listen to the music buckethead makes alone now ? Soothsayer, jordan, too many humans, king james ?

  • Both Buckethead and Slash kick fucking ass. That's my opinion

  • Buckethead is awesome

    but

Slash plays more wilder than this

  • Comment removed

  • hahahaha... youre so wrong dude, its funny....

  • Last time I checked bh wasn't fat like that bastard slash

  • bucket head!!!!.......*bows down

  • buckethead > slash

  • wow!!! this solo is great!

  • Wish that System got back together and picked up buckthead.

Or even slipknot if he had a new mask.

But Buckethead can do some great metal.

  • I agree: buckethead is not "rock n'roll" but he is better than Slash

  • way better than slash. skill and musicality. No competition inn this song.

  • yeah, in terms of "who's better at playing guitar", but Slash fits well in GnR, so obviously ppl prefer slash's solo.. I love buckethead but he doesn't suit in GnR, he deserve a much BETTER band.. :D

  • im not talking about in general, i meant for this video. Overall, 9 out of 10 songs slash plays it better, but for nightrain, bucketheads is so much more musical. musical=better.

this isn't even an opinion, its fuckin fact lol

  • @pgdrums12 it's still an opinion. Just because slash doesn't play at the speed of light doesn't mean he isn't good. Speed isn't everything. Buckethead is much quicker and more precise, but a lot of the reason I love slash is because of his bluesy/rough style.

  • dumbass

  • @blueraine21 Absoluty true

  • @blueraine21 better than the new guns n roses yes but the old gnr were fuckin awsum and slash pisses all over chikenhead... i mean bollockhead....shit ...knobhead ..eerr ....buckethead.

  • @blueraine21 I dunno dude, I actually prefer the sound of bucket's solo for some reason. Even though it's pretty much almost the same

  • more feel and better sense in music

buckethead is just more technically apt

    well mate

    I tell you this

You don't know shit about music

actually, you're already an asshole just for the comparison...

  • Technically frickin awesome but where's the soul?

  • @jeffwho7 who fucking cares, its just to awesome

  • I love slash....but i ve to consider that Buckethead is Great too....when i saw him for the FIRST time I laughed a lot but know I respect him....but i prefer always SLASH...the true Hard Rock style...

  • u rock bucket...

  • Seen them both, My opinion doesnt mean shit unlike what most people think on youtube but I just think you are wrong... but I can agree to disagree

  • putting thumbs down is only proving my point

  • its OK bucket hater, youll realise it that your wrong one day :P

  • coming from the fool, look i respect that buckethead is a good guitarist but this is just not his style

  • Da sbroglio!!!!!

  • I think BH does the NEW GNR justice, but what would GNR be today without Slash?

  • You just got to love when he does that "i'm not even looking at what i'm playing" thing in 0:19 and 0:51.....

  • @DBZ666Dante hahahha ikr? I believe hes looking at himself on the screen. probably thinking, "DAYUM! That guy is the shit!" XD

  • @DBZ666Dante Hahaha yeah, i think he was checking to see how badass he looked on the screen

  • @VilleSkateKrewRep hahaha LMAO

  • @DBZ666Dante With that mask, I think he doesn't really have to look at it ever.

  • @DBZ666Dante haha he's like "huh? oh hey guys whats goin on?"

  • effortless

  • i love the style of buckethead shred and shred XD its really cool

  • much better than the original version of Saul Hudson

  • ooh really?

  • definately

  • 0:51 when he see the screen , bucket is like:

That's Buckethead. That's Buckethead, right there

  • its a good thing bh left new gnr cus bh's music is not band type he prefers to make his own stuff and play by himself u guys noe wut i'm saying?

  • avesse rispettato almeno metà dell'assolo originale.

  • Bucketheads music is full of emotion he doesnt need a human face to put human feelings in his music. If band cant understand buckethead is there for the music then the dont deserve to play with him

  • yeah you wish he'd play like a normal human being and I wish you weren't so goddamn stupid !! purkie is so right I mean why would he need a face to show his emotion? if you're a musician or just like music then you can FEEL the emotions but you have to stop being ignorant and just try to really listen to his music..listen to the song "inferno" it will change your mind =)

  • Omg just read that Buckethead would be Ozzy Osbournes guitarist but hes outfit...

  • What the hell?? 0:48 to 1:00

  • just a freakin fast lick one you get it down it's pretty easy.

  • come on guys stop comparing them theyre both great but im not gonna lie buckethead is a beast but still love slash

  • i prefer slash the slash solo is more beatiful

  • This is better then the orginal, but its probably based on the orginal so credits to slash =)

  • I like this solo better! it's insane.

  • 0:49 to 0:59 he kicks ass !!! awesome

  • yes, but to be honest, he kicks ass from 0.06 to 1.18 :D
