Had the compu-fire bought from another distribitor which i will never use again installed it properly but i failed on us so we got the compu-tronix one from you guys and installed it love the fact that you don't have to mess with the points anymore and it has not failed a week after the instalation.like the compu-fire did
Awesome, I bought a Compufire electronic ignition 15 or so ago for my 63 Beetle with a 2010cc detuned race motor, it was a different style with the coil pack mounting on the doghouse. I thought that was a great ignition and I can imagine that this is too, but I love that the original coil and dist cap is used and the module is where the points mount. I would imagine it's even more reliable but I wonder, is this a more powerful spark using the original rotor cap and coil than the type I bought?
I've got a compufire that must be 10-15 years old by now. I carry a spare set of points, but it hasn't let me down yet.
