Bears hyberrrrrrrnate during winter. Yes, a tiger could kill a HYBERNATING BEAR that is SLEEPING and unable to move. So, a 12 year old little girl with a hunting knife, or a sharp wooden stick. When they talk about tigers predating on bears, they are talking about bears during their hybernation sleep.

Point is, no adult healthy tiger could kill an adult healthy brown bear, or grizzly bear in actual combat. I'd go as far as to say it is not even a match for an american black bear.

Fights can go either way, the Tiger is much faster and more agile, the Bears may be barely stronger, but not by much. A fight would go either way with a Tiger and ANY Bear if they both forced a fight to the death.

Never underestimate the measure of danger a tiger has. Tigers dominate all other predators, bears, wolves, leapords, crocodiles always. The only dangerous opponents are the Saltwater Crocodile (largest Crocodiles) and the Brown Bear, but it is extremely rare for them to kill the tiger, more likely to steal the kill. Tigers also kill more young brown bears and cubs, killing adult brown bears is rare, but brown bears rarely dominate tigers.

When I first saw the video, I thought it was a brown-phased Asiatic black bear due to the crest around the neck. What I'm seeing is actually yellow-tipped fur around the tips of the neck - a smoking gun that this is a juvenile. With this amount of snowfall it had to have been driven from its shallow den. Tigers almost always prey on Brown bears during winter sleep when they can sneak up on them. When the sleepy bear emerges it is disoriented and confused. Boars and deer are tigers main diet.
