@Orriist Britannia is not one of the harshest enviroments, at the very most it is average. try living year after year in Barrow, alaska, the himilayas, the sahara, the gobi, the outback, or hell the carribean. i for one live in Vermont, where it snows nine months out of the year and rains the other three. and yes it snows 9 months out of the year, the last six years we have had snow up until early august falling.

@bint86 I didn't want it to sound like that. I certainly speak of the past and the knowledge to clearly distinct wright from wrong and act likewise. Those are the glorious deeds I wrote about. Today it's very hard to know who your enemy is, and thus it is hard to decide which course of action to take. And I can tell that being a warrior is not exactly the best thing that can happen to you but I wish I was one of the warriors of the past who fought to defend their lands, families and ideas. :)

@adraxethmera91 None of us will know what it is like ot have faught in a battle that long ago. How do you know that it was clearly distinct back then? When infact it is so much harder to unite an opinion or ideal back then without the communication back then. One of the problems countries have faced when fighting an enemy was that they didnt know who the enemy was because of lack of better knowledge. I admire your belief in morality. But I think conflict is always a bad thing, even with honour.

@bint86 Of course none of us will ever know how things were back then when it came to battles. I just think it must have been easier since there weren't multiple enemies. Today battles aren't only between countries but also in the market and in the media areas and someone cannot tell for sure who's the one to blame. In the past people had to face one or two things only, today someone has to deal with a variety of "enemies".

But I will agree to that, sure conflicts are not a good thing but when they have to take place, they must be glorious and majestic, according to my opinion of course. And this majesty and honour of swords clashing, I believe, belongs to the past not because of the lack of swords today but because the concept of war has totally changed.

Just because honor has been taken out of the equation does not mean that some cant understand it. everybody is different, and certain viewpoints rest with certain peoples still to this day. to die honorably in battle is still longed for in this world even today by some. the opertunity to give your life for something greater. not all soldiers these days understand this. because war has changed. but the idea still exsists.
