As a white kid in Australia I used to envy Americans who could go and see James Brown,Otis,Wilson Pickett etc.Soul and funk is still my favourite music.
CONGRATULATIONS to The Mighty FAMOUS FLAMES for their induction into the 2012 class of THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME !!! Bobby Byrd, Bobby Bennett, Lloyd Stallworth, and Johnny Terry (not pictured). Should have been inducted with James Brown in 1986 !!!
Pretending he´s going to toss the tie out in the audience,.. just to keep it to himself... ;O) That´s my - "i feel so good i wanna kiss myself" - man....
OH MY GOSH !!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS JUST THE BEST EVER ! I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DANCE LIKE JAMES BROWN,,,,,,IF THAT IS POSSIBLE......GOD BLESS JAMES BROWN !
CONGRATS TO THE FAMOUS FLAMES Bobby Byrd, Bobby Bennett, Lloyd Stallworth, (and Johnny Terry). -- 2012 ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES !!!! They FINALLY get to join James in the Rock Hall !!!
thanks boy they were tight i am old school class of 68 bryant high moultrie, ga, so i love a good band both college and like james and other stax etc. thank and bless you.
The T.A.M.I show, Monterey Pop Festival, and Woodstock were the perfect musical storm that defined 60's music and have never been duplicated. Every performer gave their all.
This performance is from the famous T.A.M.I. show that Sting mentioned in the Police song "When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best of What's Still Around."
I saw JB in Kansas City in 1962, 1963 1964 and 1965 every time the crowd was bigger and the music was always GREAT. He was here always on Sunday night except one time on Thanksgiving.
@cw605 Although I lived here in Kansas City, I never attended his concerts. Do you recall when our city council representatives outlawed James Brown from performing in the old Municipal Auditorium? But no small change bureaucrat could stop the music of James and his red hot Flames band. Their popularity in Kansas City was unquestioned, and James Brown himself was worshipped by our crowd in Brookside.
Always funky...

An energy and talent that was truly God given
