*sigh of relief* Thank you GMD for demoing this amp. I can always count on you for making useable demos. Sifting through the others here on YT is hard on the nerves.
hello! you play really well and your videos are awesome!!!! But I would like to know if with this amp we can get a kind of green day sound like in the song "who wrote holden caulfield" or "basket case" or "when I come around" (you can hear the sound by listening the songs on this site, there's also a great video for the sound called "dookie mod sound test 2" I think )with using a "bedroom rocker" volume (so with pedals) ?
how would this amp work with a Joe satriani time machine pedal and a ice 9 pedal. and also maybe a whaw pedal or would it be best to look for another 5 watt with an effects loop?
Good job on the review man. But dang, WHY DIDN'T YOU CRANK ALL THE KNOBS?! This amp sounds amazing when it's like that. I only found one video that did it, so I was hoping you would've too.
This sounds so good. I honestly think this can be a giging/live amp because I've seen that it can be connected to cabinets. Watch a 5:03 on this vid watch?v=AtFRmlPw3cY
I have a Les Paul Special (two P-90 pickups). How close will this amp get me to "Live at Leeds" on a budget? I'm not only talking about tone, but also about about the amazing dynamic sensitivity and responsiveness that the Hiwatt stack (and Pete) pulled off.
but other than that please tell me something ...if i put the volume at center position and put my LP's volume at 7-8 then can i get a clean tone without the over driven tone ?? one more thing doing such thing..i mean how loud it would be ???? compared to marshall mg10 will it be same like it happens there with the overdrive ?? coz i own a mg10 and trust be its pretty loud for home practice the way i mentioned ...!!!
I notice the nobs only go to 10 on this Marshall ! Are they all like that now..? That must mean they`re "1" quieter than when they went up to Eleven...! Peace Ye`all !!
this little guy is loud for 5 watts i only had the volume at four and the guys at guitar center told me to turn it down lol wish i could of cranked it all the way to here all of the gain, sounds really good, im a metal player so i would probably put a pedal in front of it, really thinking about getting this amp
no offence i love your videos but i got a better sound from this amp with a 400 dollar ibanez artcore not saying its your playing or anything but i think this amp needs a lil more tweakin than what you done to get a good tone not sayin your tone is bad either may just be me
@pridefighter93 really I feel your just basing this off your own opinion (which is fine) It's just that I've found with all of my playing exsperience (from small little bars to huge venues like Convention centers) that you can get any kind of tone you want out of any guitar just as long as you work at getting that tone (in my opinion)
@FASHWENKA i respect your experience (being a performer myself) i was just stating that he should have maybe done a lil more tweaking before he started jaming so that people could hear a better tone sample than what he does and i was just saying i could get a better tone out of a budget guitar and a tad more tweaking stating that this video does not do this amp justice
I've got one of these babies modded by RAT :D Not that i can play worth a damn really but it does mean that i can crank my bad playing a no one can complain! Loving it!
played one of these guys with a Visual Sound Open Road and it was pure tonal bliss. Absolutely awesome little amp, takes pedals very well, or just crank it up!!
I found it to be too loud for my apartment so I had mine modded to accept an external attenuator (Weber Lite). The stock external out plug went to the Weber and an in jack was added that went to the speaker. Sounds great at noon with a volume (mostly) boost from a BB-plus.
Finally! :) I've had my green ltd C5 since October and I love it! I just put a set of EH tubes in yesterday, and it sounds even better! I noticed some folks are saying it doesn't take pedals well? Out of all the pedals I've run through it, maybe two of them sounded like crap. One was the Boss FDR1... yeah. Anyway, great demo, man!
Yup, bass all the way down, treble and mids maxed, is the best setting for this little amp...Its pretty good for blues to classic rock , so I've kept mine...Cant handle pedals worth a damn either, unless its a Treble or clean boost.
@JandTRockBand2 HT-5 is much more flexible especially at low volumes. The marshall has better cleans, but you have to turn it up loud to get some dirt. I have an HT-5. I love it.
will it go louder than a drummer

Great Marshall sounding Marshall amp.Excellent demo, sold me on one. What are your favorite pedals to go with this amp?
07blackdog 4 months ago
Gearmandude, you think this amp can sound sick pushing it up front with a dirt pedal?
I'm leaning towards getting this little guy but the head only...I use a very faithful 4X12 circa 1990 greenbacks cab...
I'm trying to get away from the 100 watt monsters I own and turn towards something like this...Maybe a Class 5 for sure for tone rather volume.
As always you do great demos and shoot outs!

muddy as fuck unless you turn the bass all the way down. good for hendrix kinda stuff, but it sucks for tight rock riffs.
