Kosher food does not mean healthy food. In order for something to be kosher: the fish has to have fins and scales, the animal has to chews its cud and have split hooves, which has to be decapitated and processed using salt (i'm not sure why)and can't have any flaws (like a broken leg etc.), all birds are kosher except a few they to have to be decapitated and processed using salt. You can't have any insects (some foods have them as coloring). And thats about it (i think).

@wisebbq1 Just to help inform, koshering an animal is mainly about getting the blood out so it can be buried in the ground. Blood isn't kosher. We use salt to help with the process of removing blood from the meat. If you don't get the blood out, the meat will go bad quicker. Plus, it's just gross to eat meat with blood still in it.

The announcer says that the kosher regulations are mentioned in the Bible. This is true, but misleading. Prior to the Gospel age (i.e. when Jesus came), this was the case, but there are several New Testament passages that say all foods are permissible. One is Matthew 15:11.

Nearly EVERY time I ate a Non-Kosher Chicken from a Supermarket, I got the shits. That has NEVER happened when I eat a Kosher Chicken or Poullet(sp) The Kosher meat is more expensive, I paid about $7-9 for one, but it 1) tasted much better and 2) I NEVER got sick.
