Really amazing... I love the beautiful and deep "mystical" sound of the persian Ney. Really great!

Does anyone know if there is a Clarinet that can produce similar deep "sound"? Would it be an A-clarinet or Bb-clarinet? Oehler or Boehm?

I'm not a specialist, but as clarinets come in various sizes, I'd say that the bigger the instrument, the deeper the sound (well, actually, the lower-pitched, which is not exactly the same but it still comes close). It also depends on the way you play your instrument. As clarinet goes, you mostly want to blow very very evenly, in a narrow air column, if you want to get a nice sound.

Thank you for this video. I fell in love with the ney on my first visit to Egypt and ended up buying a complete collection of them. It took me almost a year to get notes out of it and as a Westerner from the UK with no one I know who plays it I find it difficult to teach myself it. Seeing a master play is an inspiration and being able to study his technique in videos is priceless. I will be going through your other videos when time allows.
