  • What D.C. needs is a for thousands to descend on those buildings pray in the name of Jesus to see these people finally get what they deserve for allowing this treason and for Constitution lovers and those who love Jesus to anoint all of those buildings with olive oil! This idea came to me and I believe it is what is needed! If you don't believe in God then you don't really believe in freedom either so I don't care what any of you atheists have to say!

  • Thomas Jefferson Memorial should require no permits for anything. There should be people not only dancing, but also making speeches, carrying signs, reading the newspaper aloud, reciting poems, rapping, kissing, singing, and shouting. Quiet contemplation is the last thing Jefferson would have wanted. Maybe after the Dancerevolution we can get some party lights and disco balls in there.

  • Just so everyone knows, the preferred dance step for the July 4 demonstration in public monuments across the country is called the "Knee Jerk". It's pretty easy, all you have to do is choose your favorite morally and musically bankrupt track, choose your favorite lick, record that over and over, load it into your pricey eco-unfriendly gadget and dance, it will put you in a trance state so you won't notice you're being an idiot. Caution: Do not try to think or stand up while doing it.

  • There are rules for the nation's capitol including acquiring a permit for demonstrations of ANY kind. Added to all the people who think they know what

"God Wants" are now those who think they know what "Jefferson Wants".

With so much going on in the world this is a non-story blown out of proportion by Adam Cokehead and his knee-jerk minions.

Brilliant publicity stunt Adam, enjoy your 15 minutes of fame before people wake up and grow a brain. Zombie invasion manifest.

  • Im sure Those kids had something better to do than look for problems with the top flight security... POINT BLANK it wasnt built for a party environment!!!!

  • to quote Thomas Jefferson, himself:

"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so" -Thomas Jefferson.

  • @aptitudedude Aw, poor Americans, not allowed to stage their knee-jerk zombie nation at a public memorial, how terribly unjust! Compare that to the millions of starving and homeless in this country who aren't allowed to eat or those in other countries being murdered and displaced by the U.S. and NATO.

I hope everyone who attends will get years of satisfaction from their arrest records. Like a bad tattoo it's there for life.

  • The guards and police evidently cannot read the walls.

  • I believe I understand your desire for freedom and your choice of how you expressed it on this night. But I would like to offer this concept, "You have to pick your battles". Aloha.

  • @wyknot100 Who would ever have thought that this would turn into a battle ground?

  • @geminicatman Come on, please tell me your not serious. You had cameras and you even seemed to have a rehearsed rebuttal dialog. And I assume you to have higher intelligence. You must/should have taken the probability of this action to "turn into a battle". If not, then let me offer, from now on expect battles whenever expressing your freedoms while not in your closet. Freedom is not free.

  • The single responsibility the Constitution places on government is to secure the rights of every individual. As long as American robots obediently elect Democrats and Republicans year after year this is the direction our nation and liberty will take.

  • "Read these walls that you guard."

    I'd buy it for $25 on a t-shirt.

  • It is a memorial children. You little liberals cannot do everything you want just because you have no self respect or respect for others. I know it feels good to you to break the rules but they are made by the grownups. You can change these rules by following the rules to change the rules when you grow up. When you grow up you will stop doing childish things, you will, take it from a grownup.

  • They say they are "celebrating Jefferson birthday" which is funny cause he never really celebrated his birthday or cared mush about it. I don't think Jefferson would have been discontented about the guards kicking them out, they were merely doing there jobs.

  • Here is a plan: new flash mob, no dancing, only booing. Boo the rangers, boo the cops. Get it all on video. It will drive the cops crazy.

  • If you follow carefully who these clowns are you'll see what their true Agenda is. Do they dance in the Planetarium? What about the Art museum? Do they dance at the Washington memorial? Just find out who they are and you,ll see what they have in common. You'll be surprised. They are part of a vile conspiracy that your brain wont want to believe.

  • You were at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial?? Doesn't that already make you an extremist and potential terrorist according to the Defartment of Homeland Stupidity?

  • Freedom is dead. I'll be looking forward to the phase where the people take the power back.

  • Jefferson would say that we are in need of water for the tree of liberty.

  • @Gideonwoulfe Yeah, holy words ! We need a ship of water for the tree of Liberty :)

  • ". . .when we are silent and peaceful." What a pussy.

Like the thugs give a shit if you are "silent & peaceful." You are COMPLIANT, and THAT is what they want from you, your obedience slave.

Americans better grow up and psychologically prepare themselves for the possibility that they one day might have to plunge a knife in the neck of bankers, corporatists, their political puppets & pee-on enforcers.

  • I'd love to see 1000+ people show up there in 1 month and dance their asses off.

Someone needs to organize it. We need Stephen Colbert.

    We need Stephen Colbert.

    We need Stephen Colbert.

    We need Stephen Colbert.

  • @SolomonKull - Stephen Colbert is a Zionist Stooge working for the government. He is as phony as Bill O'Reilly.

  • Tomas Jefferson, one of America's leading voices for freedom of speech, would be disgusted with these rent-a-cop security guards.

  • @SolomonKull leading voice for freedom? you better not be talking about the "emancipation proclamation" that was not a move for freedom, it was a stupid move that actully failed to produce ANY results (except for showing the world, how dumb america is).

  • So who are the 41 douche-nozzles who "disliked" this?

  • Hey AMERIKA, how’s that New World Order and Policed State working out for ya.

    The Fatherland- Nazi Germany

    The Motherland - Communist Russia

The Homeland – An Unspeakable bastard crossbreed of the two above!

    Velcome to za Homeland

  • Fuck supermutants.

  • Wake up sheep. Fuck these tax feeders. Buy guns, and take back your country.

  • Trust me!! If you're in a position of 'authority' & it's not a local private business, you're one of the idiots they've placed in there to insulate the elite while they're plundering the public!!!! BELIEVE IT!! So if you're not in a position of 'authority' as mentioned above consider it a compliment!! You're not making squat for a living but at least you know you have a brain in your head & that's why you're in the financial straits you're in!!

  • These pedants, bureaucrats, you're forced subservient to, w/2rd grade reasoning skills wield control over everything in your life-police, banks, city hall, airports/TSA, courtrooms, city clerks, city tax dept.,& IRS to name a few! Intelligence is anathema to tyranny-rogue governments & officials!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow!! What a fascist Govt!! These security people are just total goons!! They're dumb f goons, not even qualified to clean toilets!!

  • The irony that somebody is being arrested outside *Thomas Jefferson's* memorial for trying to express their liberty under the 1st amendment is not lost on me.

"The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits." -TJ

  • Look at all these boot-licking sheep posting here. If people want to dance let them. WHO ARE THEY HARMING?

    Police state in full effect.

  • (cont'd) So

A: Grow up, and stop acting like rules only apply to those who actually know how to read.

B: If you break the rules, you're liable to get punished and deserve to be punished.

C: If you disrespect the dead, large groups of people or anybody...you deserve to be disrespected in a far more blunt manner.

D: Just because you think it's cool doesn't mean everybody else has to agree or allow you to do it.

  • I'm glad they made these arrests and dispersed the crowd. You have a bunch of people disrespecting a national monument, breaking out a large crowd of people acting like they don't have to follow rules because of "fuck da police" mentality. Same thing recently when a woman got thrown of an Amtrak train for being poorly educated, and being angry that she couldn't violate the rules and disrespect everyone else because for some reason she thinks she's better than everyone else.

  • @IcabodCrane You are truly lost. They were not harming or bothering anyone and it was silent. Freedom of Speech and Expression were paramount to Jefferson and to our country. Jefferson is turning over in his grave. Civil disobedience is one of the truest forms of protest. It is peaceful and needs to be done to prove points. Otherwise, we have a bunch of people like you that will gladly lick boots and not even understand how perverse this country has become regarding draconian police state laws.

  • @ruzzism

I'm not gladly licking boots...I think there are more important things to worry about than whether your iPhone is better than an Android or if you can breakdance at the Jefferson. Maybe if we weren't in the middle of a serious HOLY WAR both in terms of international and the Republican fight to push God into government while everybody is dying without medical care....then I'd give a shit over whether you can harmlessly dance around on someone's grave and call it freedom of expression.

  • @ruzzism

Or memorial rather...if you're going to try and pick at it. Gun rights may be in Jeopardy if Obama gets reelected, 400,000 people die each year waiting on social security. We have quite a few countries who would gladly nuke the crap out of us for pushing our beliefs and laws on everyone else who exists, whether their culture is different or not. Every time the Earth farts America ends up giving more attention to the world's dying than our own. There are More Important Factors.

  • @IcabodCrane I say this is just as important as anything you listed.

  • @ENJOYtheLITTLthings

Well then you have some serious problems...lives being lost, fundamental separation of church and state and other serious problems; yet you honestly believe being able to create a B-movie version of a Friday house party on a dead man's memorial is just as important?

  • @IcabodCrane Yup.

  • Well you kids tried to set the police up for a lawsuit, and the appeals court just smacked you down hard today. Now maybe you should focus on growing up, getting jobs and being productive.

  • Why do you have to fucking DANCE in the Jefferson Memorial??? That's just fucking wierd, you guys are kinda stuck up.

  • Shut the fuck up and obey the authorities.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't get this.....

You were told to leave state run property and quit dancing like retards there. You were even given an explanation as to why dancing like retards in a MEMORIAL is not ok; but you were asked, then told, to leave.

    You didn't.

    You got arrested.

    Where's the problem again?

  • liberal douchebags trying to get the next internet sensation on video? mission accomplised. you can hear the g@y in this guy behind the camera 'whoa don't touch my property, we're being celebratory'...deliberate inflammatory anal suburban whiteness at its best. you know these people sit around with 100k in student loan debt dreaming up something that makes them feel they made a statement before marching back to their cubical on monday.

  • COMMENT FAIL AGUNDIS1825 LOL!

A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of

nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate." --Thomas

Jefferson: Rights of British America, 1774.

"No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal

rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to

restrain him." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Gilmer, 1816.

Jefferson a true republican maby you should put down that Sarah Palin doll with the goin rogue audible

  • @The Yeoman Farmer Thomas Jefferson (Declaration of Independence) and James Madison (Father of the US Constitution) were both Democratic/Republicans.

I guess you can say they were the founders of both the Democratic and Republican parties.

  • Okay that was just stupid.

Who throws people out of there for dancing??

    Crazy.

I wanna know what happened to that lady.

Can you imagine being thrown into jail for the night?

"Oh what are you in for?"

"Well I was dancing... and... yeah."

  • Nnnnnope.

    Not arrested for dancing.

Arrested for disobeying a lawful order from a peace officer to leave, then being a shithole about it.

Seems cut and dried in my book.

  • There's nothing wrong with america for not being able to dance in a memorial...

  • First, they did not have a dance permit.

Second, even if they did, there are big signs on the wall...

    No dancing

    No foot tapping

    l

No rhythmic movement of any kind, including hip swaying and head bopping.

  • @greggh

    Are you serious??

  • I fucking love these type of trolls ;D

  • No one should have been arrested for this, but arguing with a $6 an hour rent-a-cops over your 'freedoms' being squashed because you can't dance like retards in front of a statue is laughable.

  • They are special police offiers and make way more than 6 bucks and hour

  • Read the walls? Those guys went to DC public schools.

  • The jackass is making a deal out of it like these guys were explicitly trying to crack down on libertarian dissent. Give me a break. The dudes were just pissed that these idiots interrupted their easy shift.

  • precisely.

  • That monument belongs the US; you know we the people! They have every right to be there.

Police like that, I think do not realize that when they take your or my freedom, they take Theirs and their childrens away too.

  • wow you guys are retarded

  • It doesn't take much to get arrested in the United States these days, does it? How very, very sad. I guess there is no pursuit of happiness allowed at the Jefferson Memorial.

  • We should be more concerned about police brutality than dancing.

Why does this video get so much publicity, but the hundreds of videos of police tasering innocents, beating up people, throwing them out of wheelchairs, etc. get smudged into unawareness?

  • Thank god I don't live in America! Weird behaviour of the security guard. But may happen also in other countries. Still disturbing.

  • The thing to remember is that security and police are being offensive in ways that the public would not. If they were being disorderly to the extent that people protested their behavoir, it would be reasonable for them to be removed. People aren't objecting here, police are. That's what's wrong with the US right now. If your neighbor's playing loud music, talk to them first. If they're beligerant, then call police. But first, be human.

  • ok so it's a little weird that they are dancing at the memorial at midnight, but if you're into celebrating the life of one of our founder fathers, go for it. At least you are patriotic unlike some groups (ie. Code Pink). DC police are the dumbest around and inefficiently run.

  • OH DEAR!

  • so idealistic. the rules of society exist even in the jefferson memorial. there is a very high standard for codes of conduct in a memorial building. if you think you are knowledgeable, that is something you need to learn. they had every right to kick you out and to arrest her. you were being disrespectful and defiant.

  • The Jefferson Memorial is open to the public 24 hours a day. These people were doing nothing nothing but quietly dancing to celebrate the birth of one of our greatest founding fathers--the guards did NOT have "every right" to kick them out. And wanting to know the reason for your arrest is not being "disrespectful and defiant--part of being a responsible American is knowing your rights.

  • There are SO many more important things to protest. Stop wasting our time.

  • Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes.

  • If any of these privileged little publicity hounds ever had to serve in the military or God forbid hold down a real job to pay real bills or feed their kids, they wouldn't have the time, energy, or the inclination to be pulling these stupid stunts. Give me a freaking break! Dancing to celebrate Jefferson's birthday!!! That is just a lame excuse to have something to post on You Tube! If they had a valid point to make, it was lost during the whole "we want to dance, etc." scam.Get a job!!

  • That's a ridiculous statement. No one was looking for publicity. They purposely scheduled the event for late at night so as not to disturb visitors to the monument. I do have a real job. I work 50 hours a week and attend engineering school and had I lived in the DC area I would have been there. This was not a stupid stunt. I have danced at my friends birthdays and Jefferson has done more meaningful things for this country than they. It wasn't a demonstration, just a celebration lighten up

  • Let's be honest, if they weren't looking for publicity, why videotape the whole thing. Record it for what purpose? If they chose to just go and dance to celebrate, who would really care other than themselves?

  • Really? No one ever makes a video for themselves? So I wonder when the film of my fifth birthday party will wind up on youtube, or my trip to Canada, or DC or Panama Beach. They could have easily been documenting it for themselves. Or maybe they did want to post it; however, that in no way means they wanted to be hastled.

  • Funny you should say that. I do not know how many hits your fifth birthday would get, but your trip to Panama Beach would be of some interest. The way I see it is, the beauty of living in this country is that you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine and we both get to state it. Be well.

  • You're a bunch of obnoxious ignorant kids. You just wanted to exploit Jefferson's words for your own amusement. Your intent was make a scene and you succeeded. I think most visitors to the memorial would have left because of what you were doing. The cops had legitimate reason to tell you to leave. In my opinion they didn't arrest enough of you.

  • shut the fuck up ... what a dickhead

  • Wish the guard just took a club to this whiney, attention-whore.

  • Oh get real, what bullshit!

  • american police is sick and fat!!

  • /watch?v=3wW5NhP5RNg

  • STFU fhagboi

  • The 'dance' wasn't intended as a political statement. It was the D.C. leg of the New York based website Improv Everywhere. The point is to have fun and provide entertainment for the unsuspecting. They don't do things to support causes.

I'm not surprised someone was arrested. Jefferson memorial has pretty strict security. Yes, she might not have been breaking a law, but the monument has rules visitors are supposed to follow, and she might have been breaking those and that's she was arrested

  • lollapulizer, just to clarify Improv Everywhere was not involved - but it was definitely in that spirit.

  • I got linked through the Improv Everywhere website and since it seemed like the kind of thing they did, I just assumed it was.

  • she was breaking a law the officer told her to leave and she didnt. trespass

  • who is that fag behind the camera, and why wasn't he arrested first

  • is it so important that someone is gay or not?

    stupid asshole!!

  • They were sent home with the dancing Israelis. Ziontologists understand that to save the earth and mankind from Osama ben Xenu, only fear and obedience will work. The bigger the lie the better it works.

  • I wondered what happened to the "Dancing with the Stars" losers

  • I lol when people get arrested for dancing, i'll take note not to dance ever anywhere for fear that the big bad security guard should come and arrest me.

  • It wasn't a bright idea to do it in a national monument anyways.

I won't say that the guard were right for approaching them and wanting them to leave, but I don't think it was right for them to continue to dance and argue even when multiple guards/police showed up and asked them to leave.

  • 'oooh, don't you know how dangerous and subversive dancing in public is?' you people below who see this as "nonsense", you really are ridiculous and cowardly. yeah, i said it -- straight up cowards. if you don't agree with appropriately resisting unlawful authority -- say, cops hassling you simply because they can -- then you DESERVE a jackboot-style government. hope you're of the right political persuasion when the guys with the warrantless National Security Letter come knocking!

  • What seems to be lost here is that Thomas Jefferson would regard with equal contempt both the abuse of power by the guard and the narcissistic delinquency and juvenile exhibitionist stupidity of the kids involved.

  • What seems to be lost here is that Thomas Jefferson would regard with equal contempt both the abuse of power by the guard and the narcissistic delinquency and juvenile exhibitionist stupidity of the kids involved.

  • London squares freeze for one minute with hundreds of people joining in.

    France does the same thing.

20 people decide to dance around a statue and they get arrested. Bet the wino's in the middle of the street were having a laugh...

    Idiots!

  • How can you expect the guard to read what is written on the walls, when he is a nigga and obviously can't read?

  • Your kind is a dying breed. People like you hold back great nations like America.

  • Jefferson would have mocked your protest and wanted to know why your are dancing and not marching over injustices elsewhere... idiots!

  • I agree... These guys are a bunch of idiots looking for attention.

  • Really, find a real cause. Like something that would have meaning....uuuhhh cancer, AIDS, poor, hunger, ignorance, etc.

  • enough to make anyone angry:

*camp sounding voice* "your angry... your angry... wow". I think he showed great restraint. Many others would be stamping on the camera by that point. You think you are very clever for pulling this nonsense. You predictable ninnies love this sort of shit- but the joke is on you.

  • WTF?! Why were they dancing in the Jefferson Memorial? Did they bring any silly string with them? LOL!! No wonder they were thrown out.

  • you guys are idiots. if you irritate security guards and cops, they'll find a reason to arrest you. charges will probably get dropped, but you still had to spend time in the pokey. at any rate, seems to me you should thank the cops. you got exactly what you wanted, which was a nice anti-american youtube video. congrats!

  • "Anti American or anti-authority? Who are the patriots here?"

profound. seriously. thank god for you.

the monument is government property which happens to be open to the public. just because you pay taxes doesn't mean you have any legal ownership of the memorial. would you expect to be allowed to sleep in the president's bed? are you really so dense to think that you have a right to use any government property to behave as you'd like?

  • Actually the monument is public property held in trust by the government.

  • lazyass86 must be one of the people in the video. the security guard was pleading with those idiots to leave. he said the dancing was disorderly. it was incosiderate for the other people trying to visit the monument.

anti-american? maybe the comment: "there is something wrong with America!" "oh terrible day, we can't act retarded at a national monument!"

when security asks you to leave, you should leave. anyway, the guy in the video sounds like a total homo.

  • The monument was established for the public to enjoy. You say, "acting retarded" like you even saw what they were doing. The presidents bed is his controllable temporary property, different circumstances. The guy, "sounds like a homo" shows the level of prejudice you had watching this video against the stars. Is it now a crime to sound like some socially undesirable?

  • american's are idiotes... holy shit the shit you gays do! dont come over here.

  • Do you hear the black ops helicopters hovering over your house? WE ARE COMING. Learn how to spell if you are going to insult someone, it gives you more credibility.

  • Sometimes I eat cheese in the basement. Something about the smell of basement must and aged cheddar makes me feel like all is right with the world.

  • why are they protesting?? whats it about.

  • Fucking Hippies have nothing better to do. Reminds me of middle school where kids were defiant and disrespectful.

  • nobody's rights were violated-

they were told to leave, they didnt- they got arrested. looks like cops and security guards doing their job to me.

these kids have no idea what it's like to be violated.

  • what?

"take a historical check of the company who have said that."

you're comparing the security guard at the jefferson memorial who makes minimum wage kicking idiot hippies out to historical villans like the nazis? piss off, kid.

  • America, land of the free. haha.

  • if your into dancing go to a club. Why not try baghdad for a dance see how ya get on???/Why not?why not?

  • fucking hippies...

  • what would they do if many people gone dance there?

So next Friday 20 o clock!

Let's dance together at the same place!

  • What's so wrong with doing a little dance?

  • oh please, if you're going to decry the errors of the american empire you cannot state "i know you're just doing your job, but..."

BUT nothing. you lost this battle.

  • -____- some guys only acknowledge the SysTeM if it works in their favor?

  • go cops! arrest those punk kids! one more whiner off the streets YAY!

  • viva la revolucion

    (V)

  • lol at the guy talking

  • Ron Paul/Mike Gravel 2008!!!

  • These places are Federal Parks which have hours, rules and people who are pretty adamant about seeing that you follow the rules. Have your party in the park, on the grass, in the trees, but, stay clear of the memeorials.

  • agreed, these little brats have lost whatever shred of respect they learned from their parents.

  • Yes they have hours--open 24 hours a day. These people were not vreaking any rules.

  • NO, they do have hours, and yes they were breaking rules. Maybe you could get away from the computer for a while and go and visit our nation's capital. You would really enjoy it. Just about everything is free since we are already paying for it.

  • I've been to D.C. many times, thank you. What rules were they breaking, exactly? They were wearing quiet headsets and dancing. It was a completely peaceful gathering. (In case you didn;t know, the Bill of Rights guarentees people the right to peaceably assemble.)

  • 24 hours. They broke no rules.

  • to the guy holding the camera I would have blatantly yelled fuck you at the cop as he was walking in the door

  • anon510: you could get arrested for it, it's disturbing the peace or something gay like that

  • your peace?

or just your peace of mind

  • your peace?

    or your piece of mind?

man i cant remember what it was

  • R[LOVE]UTION!

    FREEDOM!

  • It want the full video. What happened before you started taping. Were you being disorderly?

  • brianGosh1: you can see "Act 1" in freethejefferson1's profile

  • i dunno they seem to be taking the piss.

but she didn't deserve being arrested.

  • Why was she arrested?

It is not clear. It looks like false arrest.

  • i gave it a chance. zippy sympathy for these idiots (and i dont mean the cops).
