  • MAN JUStin bieber sucks! wy donr beibeber all about it!

  • r.i.p grandad

    Daniel Convey

    will always miss you

  • I am working on this song right now. When I learned the true meaning of it from my voice instructor, I got a big chill down my spine. This great piece is meant to be sung with emotion, and great feeling.

  • @WeeMentalAmb GTFO bitch!

  • what is this song about? who is danny?

  • @joejar77 Danny is the son who has to leave and this is the lament of the parent left behind fearful of never seeing him again before he/she dies (originally written from the mother's perspective it's as commonly sung by men now). It was written by an Englishman but has become inextricably linked with Irish emigration. Although there are so many awful cheesy versions around sung well it's amazingly powerful

  • @dalesgas The original song was called "Eily Dear" but was later changed by a Scotsman to "Danny Boy" and used to recruit the Irish into WW1, the tune is very old and called "Londonderry Air" which is a tune used to many songs and dates back to the 17th century. The most most recent song sang to this tune was called "You Raise Me Up", Londonderry Air is also the unoffical anthem of Northern Ireland. In the original "Eily " is the wife of the English writer Weatherly.

  • @joejar77 you know...... danny....

  • Andy Williams sings this song good, but Jim Reeves sings it much better.

  • R.I.P. Dan Wheldon. You will be missed

  • he performed this with the wrong attitude: "i'm a cool white guy, whatever." It's supposed to be a lament and love praise for another person - not oneself

  • Ugly americans "Birdman" episode brought me here xD.

    Beatiful song btw. :)

  • R.I.P Dan Wheldon 1978-2011

  • RIP Dan Wheldon

  • Originally telecast in color (this is a kinescope of the original videotape).

  • Listen to Jackie Wilson's version, you may never listen to this one again.

  • Unsurpassed, a great singer and a true American patriot. He is one a a few in hollyweird , and we should be damn proud of him.

  • Wish I could hear Adam Lambert sing this.

  • The song and singer makes me want to do something patriotic for this county...USA

  • @racourdav Yes you're right, he's short but he has absolutely a GIANT talent! That's incredible, isn't?!

  • they sang this at my freinds dads funeral.

  • @bartguy27

They sang this at Moe's Tavern's funeral.

  • @MrNauran what episode was that called

  • This makes the tears run...

  • An effortless, true singer. Shame they dont make em like him anymore =[ True singers of his talent would laugh at the so called 'singers' of adolescent age today who couldnt 'sing' without auto tune and all that electronic fx rubbish.

  • an absolute classic so beautiful every note brings me back it is a wonderful piece thank you Sacuya for posting this

  • why have a comment section if you desire NO comments this is crazy when most people only wish to express and shear the heartfelt joys of the music being posted in reference to a pass spent with family members and love one's whom has passed......... to many posting? What is too much when you reflect on life sheared experiences that will never be regained

  • Oh so beautiful<3

    Yes,sir,here i m.Are you calling me?

  • -Well there goes 20 bucks. I bet that it was oh Johnny boy. Son of a Bench >.<

  • i play this to piss people off on xbox

  • It's weird how people called this "oldie music" and "oldie voice" where as it's what singing is supposed to be. It's not screeching notes and rapping on the top of your lungs to sing pop and other stuff. It's supposed to relax you and bring joy. It should come easily and naturally and without strain on the voice.

  • This version always bring a tear to my eye. So effortlessly brilliant, as Dannys998877 said, and yet so beautiful. And looking at the video just makes it all so much better. Thank you for this upload!

  • ROLE MODELS !!!!!

  • I love this song

  • Futurama brought me here.

  • @lTheeMCl haha same here...we must be watching the same episode right now haha

  • me, my father, and my grandfather are all named Daniel- Danny for short, and we are an Irish family.

  • Comment removed

  • MY NAMES DAN !!!

  • Beautiful song. Not stylized the way I would have done it, but it's so beautiful that it doesn't matter. He's really good.

  • This song was playing when I saw the 11 o'clock news about Bin Laden being dead. It made me think about the war and my best friend over there serving. So sad to see the world a mess as a result of terrorism. As an American I know we make mistakes but we sure as hell look good making them. One can only hope that our great allies support our government's decisions and not judge the entirety of the nation because of it. - God Bless America, The World, and Andy Williams!

  • A great American patriot, who happens to be a fantastic singer. The hollweir left tried to squelch him, but he was too talented and overcame that.

  • Beautiful version. And he seems to do it so effortlessly. He even handles that top note which defeats a lot of pop singers. It really doesn't require an operatic tenor to sing it properly.

  • @Dannys998877 Agreed!

  • @Dannys998877 Indeed!

  • @Dannys998877 I posted this for the first responders of 9-11..i find the background so similar to the trade ctr...just a coinsidence

  • @Dannys998877 I posted this for the first responders of 9-11..i find the background so similar to the trade ctr...just a coinsidence

  • @Dannys998877 probably because he is singing the top note in falsetto.............

  • @Dannys998877 That "top note" is only an F#!!! I'm a low baritone and I can sing that middle voice. He only falsettos it to make it softer!

  • @aaronfromhastings was thinking the same thing... =P

  • Thank you for the upload. LUV the old footage. Luv this song so much !

  • Splendidly breathtaking. It speaks to the heart.

  • It's good but I like the one that Zoidberg was singing in Futurama best. Like deeper and.... it's hard to describe for me... I'm kind of a retard that way.

  • My Russian soul truly appreciates the beautiful Irish melody and the sad story of an Irish lad and his true love ...

  • @serpent2001 I always heard that it was a father sending his son off to war. Even more poignant that way.

  • My Russian truly soul appreciates beautiful Irish melody and the sad story of an Irish lad and his sweetheart.

  • The firsttime I here this song when I was young.,i felled a song to make me happnese

and i memerry in to my heart

  • Any body who listens to Andy here and a tear doesn't come means your eye is made of glass.

  • Fenomenal voice ! 1:38 fullvoice or falsetto ? Very nice !

  • The words to this song are so good.

  • brilliant!!!!! Oh Danny boy!!:x

  • @joeasmythe It's frank sinatra's ghost

  • Andy Williams is Great...I really like his redition...people that don't are Jealous tone deaf idiots.....sorry...but you are...!

  • Andy Williams had one of the very best voices of all time, no doubt about it!

  • My Father liked him well.

  • Wow, thank you!

  • ~I just have to hear this beautiful song on Saint Patrick's Day! Andy Williams has the most beautiful voice...

  • Check out Mario Lanza's version. :*))))

  • GREAT!!!

  • Nice!

  • Oh Danny boy oh Danny boy I love you so

  • During the early 1960s, when he gave this performance, Andy Williams’ pipes and musical sense put him just a hair behind Sinatra. He needed only the most delicate orchestration, or none at all. Thus, whoever was responsible for this overbearing arrangement should have been shot.

  • Yeah let's shoot them especially @franklindavid, the arogan one he thinks he is the godfather who can arrange everyone who sings this song.. It must "flower are dying" WTF.. He must learn how to respect the legendary star!!

Just sing this song by yourself, make it better than andy williams, oldman!!

  • he thinks his idol is tenor, what a stupid old man, his idol is bass. andy is tenor!! See, his idol couldn't match andy's gold and see that "alfred cini's" video : POOR VIEWS, there is only few people interested viewed his video,There is none of his video which got million views, poor alfred cini (not johnny fontane because JF is Frank Sinatra). Yeecckkkk!!

  • franklindavid is al martino's fan, the ugliest voice ever... His idol couldn't sing like this, no vary tone, so bored such a robot yeck!!

  • There are some people who really jealous with this incredible rendition..

  • god damn i really wish i could live back in those days :)

  • @franklindavid You ,sir, are either tone deaf or have wax in your ears.....

  • @stlplyr He is truly deaf and has an inferior taste

  • Comment removed

  • @PrinceWilliammmmm Agreed !

  • @stlplyr def wax xD

  • Velvet voice and tender song....Thank you !!! :))

  • he finally got his hand out of his pockets at 2.59 ghehe

this is a great version of danny boy, I'm not used to sing it the way he does, thats a nice thing though!

  • @isd138 it's actually about a mans son going to the army and he dies. its a really :(

  • Some songs were made for Andy Williams...or perhaps it is the other way around. In either case, this is one of them.

  • What a voice he sings this song so well, probably the best version I have heard

  • one of the greatest singers ever born!. back in the day people could really sing

  • Mr.Williams's is truly the one and only person to do justice to this song, such a beautiful voice. - What more can one say?

  • I played this at my fathers funeral, I didn't cry, but I am now, I hope he knows.

  • My grandfather, who was part Irish, absolutely loved this song. Always remember him when I hear it..RIP.

  • Perfection.. that last phrase is just wonderful.. there are just no words.......

  • This world classic has been covered by more artists than probably any other song in history. But no one sings it as good as Andy.

  • my father wanted to play this at his older brother Daniel's funeral. His brother died when he was 12 from cancer...He always protected my Dad and when he was gettIng treated they threw his wig around on the bus...it was then my dad's turn to protect him. I was pregnant with my first child a boy, my 8th month of pregnancy, then my father had a heart attack i thought he died, but he had quadruple bypass surgery n he survived. My lil man is 4 1/2 months and his name is Daniel :-)

  • This song was played at his Funeral, my Mom use to sing this to him when he was a Baby.

  • My Brother Danny died one Month ago today Jan. 6th, 2011, One Month has gone my Sweet Brother still hard to Believe, I Love You So Danny!..Your sister Angela

  • @trublon4u

I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you're going through, but this song makes me cry, too. It's so sad, so beautiful.

"Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. ... I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner.

    All is well."

  • I always love andy and elvis :)

  • This Andy Williams version is sung beautifully but you should check out Elvis Presley's version.

  • by far the best version of this song

  • guden tog me wench i would fuck your testicles

  • What a fantastic voice and Man.

  • Well if this doesn't bring a tear to your eye, its made of glass.

  • OH GOD NO! NOT THE PIPES! HELP!

  • Great rendition by one of the few patriots in hollyweird.

  • Thumbs up if you have to listen to this for homework!

    Just me eh?

  • Its so Ironic this song was sung at His Funeral Jan. 9th, 2011 this song speaks of Snow, it Started Snowing that Night here in South Carolina that evening after he was Buried, I Love You So Danny!

  • @trublon4u how is that ironic?

  • @butcheredwards ....Right now anything can be Ironic just losing my Brother 3 weeks ago, thats how.
