This new Spider-Man exists only in the 'Ultimates' titles; you know, the one where Peter Parker dated Kitty Pride, Nick Fury looks like Samuel L. And I'm black I don't know anywhere where an unqualified black person can get a job. All of my black friends have jobs and are qualified.
I work with a number of black people at my job and they're college grads and qualified. In some departments at my job you can't work in those departments unless you have experience in that field and they wouldn't hire anyone without experience. Oh yeah might I add, the hiring supervisor at my job is black and I have seen her turn down black applicants before because they were not qualified for that particular field.

Bottom line is, the reason why this is an issue is because Spider Man is not white and people are afraid of change and they reject the unfamiliar because it's easier to do that. As for myself, I'm black and I embrace change (only if it's positive) and if that makes me wrong then I'm sorry. I have no problem with this Spider Man and I had no problem with white Spider Man either. I have all 3 DVD's for Spider Man and I'm a fan. I don't care what color he is. He's cool in any color :-)

This new Spider-Man exists only in the 'Ultimates' titles; you know, the one where Peter Parker dated Kitty Pride, Nick Fury looks like Samuel L. I work with a number of black people at my job and they're college grads and qualified. In some departments at my job you can't work in those departments unless you have experience in that field and they wouldn't hire anyone without experience. Oh yeah might I add, the hiring supervisor at my job is black and I have seen her turn down black applicants before because they were not qualified for that particular field.

2011 people are still racist. I remember being a kid watching the super friends and I didn't care what color the super heroes world, all I cared about was can they save the world. I'm black and I'm a fan of spider man and it doesn't bother me a bit if he's black. When he was white I didn't care either. I just think Spider Man is cool no matter what color he is.
