@beakebros3 Proof or it didnt happen......Your youtube pic shows an over-weight kid with a guitar....Most definatley you. You need to be in top physical condition to make it anywhere near camp six.....
Synthetic air lol! If you mean the oxygen bottles, Sir Eddie used them too, "many" climbers nowadays don't.. And what do you mean by underarmor? Also there are no special mapping systems that tell you the easiest way up. GPS won't tell you what kind of crevasses or seracs etc are up ahead you. Not saying to take anything away from Hillary though, 100% respect for him and his achievements in mountaineering and other aspects of life..
shit when i tried 4 people died before close to summit and i chickened out! how did he not get altidude sickness and pass out or die? i have like 12 attempts, once i was close then i nearly died of the fright because of the height! good for this kid
Technology nowadays has made the ascent easier. It is still bloody hard, dangerous and taxing, but Edmund Hilary's achievement back in the day was so special because it was supposedly impossible. Nowadays we have synthetic air, synthetics clothing, underarmor, better wind resistant clothing, stronger and better climbing equipment and mapping systems to determine the easiest way up.
