I am looking at possibly having this procedure done due to recent and debilitating hip pain. I'm 55 yrs old and other than aerobic swimming I cannot think of any possible cause for what seems to be loose osteophytes,impingment, and early arthritis. 33 yrs of pushing x-ray equip.and patients around may be a factor. I can't take NSAIDS for pain due to asthma limiting my options for pain relief. This procedure looks promising. Thanks for posting so we can better understand and know what to exoect.

I just had this done too, October 25th. I am fully able to ambulate (walk) again now and fully load bear again. According to my doctors, within 6 weeks I will be fully back to normal. This was so much better the the originally proposed THR.

I had this done; 2 days after I turned 17. I'm still recovering my surgery was august 10, 2010. I had a laberal tear 11-2 o'clock. I also had a pincer ipmingement so they shaved the bone. Along with that i had iliopsoas tendinities, and it was severely inflamed causing pain up into my abdomen so they also released the tendon. I'm on touch touch for 6 weeks, and will be in physical therapy for 24 weeks. I was fairly active prior; soccer, indoor soccer, basketball, track & cheerleading.

WOW! This is amazing! My mother (70-something) just called me last night and told me she was having this surgery this morning and I freaked out! I couldn't figure out how they could do a hip replacement procedure without full on cutting. Modern technology is AMAZING! My dad just called me this morning and she is doing fine and is in recovery. I'm so relieved. Thanks for posting this so that we can understand this procedure. :)
