The angle of the mount it going to be a trial and error thing. It will depend a lot on how wide the view angle is. I think the bill of the cap is the way to go. The actual mounting technique would depend on the camera model.
The camera that I use is slightly on the heavy side. Tightening up the band of the hat and using ear muffs does work to keep the hat in place.

What editing software were you using?
How hard was it to determine the correct angle for capturing your shooting?
Any suggestions for how to mount on your cap?
What do you think about strapping it to the side of your head?
Did the camera tend to want to fall off your cap, or did it pull your cap off your head?

do you think that the camera will be able to handle the recoil of a 12 gauge? I want to use this for trap/skeet shooting
