look people he has an addiction, and i know how he feels cuz i had one. the are not easy to brake ! ive been sober for 3 months now and its one of the hardest things ive ever done. give he some time he'll sober up when he just cant take it anymore ! if you ask me he is warrant, he wrote all the songs back in the day, and was one of the founding members ! just give him a chance !!! peace !
Motley Crue's "Wild Side" didn't exactly seem like a good time. The lyrics were about living in the hell of Los Angeles gutter. Guns N' Roses lyrics weren't always about having a good time. Ozzy Osbourne's lyrics weren't always about have a good time. Skid Row's "Wasted Time" doesn't paint a happy picture. You should pay attention too.
I have to disagree with the Geoff Tate comment. I saw Queensryche in concert just a few months ago and he hit all the high notes with ease. He doesn't sound much different to me than he did in the 80s when I saw them the first time.
I see no dif between him now or him in the 80's he sux anyway. All the hair bands of the 80's got there commuppence in the 90's.They all fell by the wayside.
At least the 80's hair bands like Motley, Poison, LA Guns, ect are still touring and releasing albums... where are those 90's bands? Oh that's right, they all killed themselves.
The only reason people go see them is so they can say they seen a dinosaur.R u 1 of they rare guy groupies. The music made by the bands u mentioned was made 4 ladies.FYI I think Aqua net is on sale at Walmart.
80's hair metal is fun to listen to and is real music. Why would you want to listen to some depressing 90's song that makes people want to fucking kill themselves or whatever. It all beats rap though. But the 90's (grunge) sucked terribly. The 80's was the Golden Age of music.
the guy has a point; music in the 80's was about fun, and thats all music should be. people like that prick kurt cobain killed the essence of music i think.
music should lift your spirits and make you want to sing along, and have a good time. thats why you go to a concert. you dont put on an album thinking ,"oh, i feel like i am too happy, lets make me suicidal", then put on some nirvana or shit like that. you put music on to cheer you up.
@w0bbl3r You couldn't be MORE right! Kurt Cobain killed music as we knew it! I read a post somewhere that Warrant KILLED hair metal! I'm like whatttttt? Are you serious? You could not say that if you lived in that time! Because anyone who was around during that era and was a fan of any hair metal knows that GRUNGE killed hair metal! Bands like Nirvanna & Pearl Jam KILLED hair metal! I hate when people make comments on something and have no idea the facts about what they are commenting on! UGH!
@basketsbylynda Speaking of knowing facts.... nobody was out to kill hair metal. It had become self-parody. Every band looked and sounded the same by 1990 thanks to greedy record companies. Something had to give. I was a big 80's rock fan and also liked bands like Pearl Jam when they came up, and still do. I also still like Warrant and other bands like them today, the ones whose music proved substantial beyond the pin-up imagery. Nobody was forced to like Nirvana. it just happened.
@basketsbylynda And just to be clear, I'm not trying to shit on you or be any kind of a dick. there are literally a thousand reasons why the musical climate changed in the early 90's. It's never happened like that before or since. There's political reasons, generational gaps, the state of the country at the time, etc. It was time for drastic changes and rock music was swept up into it. Dig around online there's lots to read about the cultural shift that happened and the role rock music played
First of all nobody called it "hair metal" back then. MTV coined the phrase in mocking "tribute" in the late 1990's/2000's. Second of all, blaming Kurt Cocaine for killing the music is ignorant. The record companies and complacent pre-fab bands killed the music. They self-destructed with endless power ballads and commercial crap. There were very few "hair metal fans" around when Nirvana broke out. Only 13 year old girls were buying the records for the ballads. UBUNTU

Obviously his voice can't sing the high notes anymore. It's similar to Geoff Tate from Queensryche. Although Geoff has been active all these years and has re-written his vocals as his range shrinks. Looks like Jani just tries to force it through and it doesn't work.
To have talent like Jani and then piss it all away. His voice and his songwriting ability is something you can't really learn it's given to you. I know the rest of the band/management is extremely pissed off at him, but there is nothing they can do. Janie is Warrant. He is the main songwriter and lyricist. No Janie...No Warrant. Jamie St. James was stable/sane, but his songwriting doesn't fit the 'Warrant' sound.
I don't agree with that. Jamie St James Warrant album sounded much more like the classic Warrant sound than the last 2 or 3 albums they did with Jani where he tried to be grunge & alternative sounding.
Is this a joke? Jani use to kick ass, but this would have pissed me off if I would have been there...I would bet that all those people there are never going to another warrant show.
I'd still rather have this happen from time to time than to pay money to see Jamie st. James. F**k...... it's good to thrown down but shoulda partied after the show like god intended.
Alcoholism isn't funny at all and it's clear that Jani is battling some Big Fucking Demons. I'm Prayin' for ya Jani and I hope you get help because when you're "on" you're awesome. God Bless.
for anyone who has tickets to a upcoming warrant show don't plan on goin because they will probably cancell the date. if anyone is plannin on buyin tickets. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! i had tickets for the show at lifestyle pavilion in columbus oh. they cancelled that date. great white and ratt were the bands added on to replace them and they kicked ass..
If that prevents me from having to hear that mess again, let's have it! :) That having been said, I have nothing against the guy, but even you admited that he doesn't sound too great here. Don't take things so seriously and maybe you will get more out of life! Don't worry! Be happy!!! :-D

Sad that people that lived the 80s don't realize not all the music was about fun. In fact, a lot of it was about hard times and fear. Pay attention.

Ummm, so you're agreeing with me but ask me to pay attention, too? The two specific songs you refer to are indeed NOT about fun or good/happy times.

That is why I listen to power metal. It is upbeat and fun music to listen too. The only grunge I can listen to is STP
(occasionally), because they don't sing about death all the time like Nirvana did.
