I enlisted In the Iowa Army National Guard, and it was the best decision of my life, i ship to Fort Benning Georgia on June 11, Stay there for 15 weeks for BCT and AIT... Pretty excited

I am a pround soldier in the U.S Army ..National Guard SAPPER unit to be exact (yes i know im a weekend warrior i gotta hear about it all the time that im the "Almost Army" but i fight just like you active duty guys do if not harder)...My point is just that these critics come on here and think they know it all. Some train longer, or specialize in different things, but they ALL signed up to fight if they are called to it, fought through training like most people wouldnt believe, and are defending the freedoms of the rest of us.

@kingkongfool first of all the national guard is part of the army and they r trained like every other soldier and they pick their area of service after basic training , second of all if you have opinions on the national guard being for pussies then u try ranger training u wont make it past the first week and seals train harder than the rangers u wouldnt last past the first hour and third of all not everybod wants to kill in the military alot want to do intel or engineering

Read the history books about the National Guard....youll be rather surprised about what you see. Dont call us pussies. I have/had Marines in my family and the only difference between the Marines and the Army is this....You are A MARINE (singled out)...we are AN ARMY OF ONE.
