I think the reason he's never been nominated is because he actually becomes these characters (he even talks about being criticized for it on one video) and you aren't watching Gary Oldman playing the character, you're watching the character. As good as say, Tom Hanks is, you are acutely aware it is HIM acting. Not so with Gary.

I am always amazed at how many Oldman fans have never seen or heard of Romeo is Bleeding, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Those are two incredible movies, and the characters he plays are absolutely brilliant (as are all his characters, of course). But really,....GO fans, check these two movies out, they are both worth the time to watch!
