  • If you've been in a difficult, even abusive relationship, this song has great meaning...

  • Used to make love to this song...

  • This diva can sing anything.

  • Jane's version: (yeah, ya gotta credit me if you sing this version) All of him Why not take all of him? Can’t you see I’m SO good without him? Take his lies, He’s a confuser. Lizard eyes … He’s such a loser. His goodbyes Left me without his lies I’ve gone on And found someone new. He’ll take your heart And tear it apart So let him take all of you.
  • I'm not talking 'musicians' I'm talking artists. Face it, Billie didn't play second horn, drums nor base. It worked because she worked, hard, night and day. Showbiz is BIG and stars are the name of the game.

  • ....take my lips, I want to lose them, take my eyes, i never use them.....THANKS BILLIE!!!!!!!!

  • この曲を聴くと、上海の」BLUEJAZZ」を思い出します。この店はないけど、何回聞いてもいいでね。

  • 8 people never loved

  • I do think this might have Teddy Wilson on piano and Lester Young on sax. Would love to know which year this recording is from.. Billie H recorded it more than once.

  • Try listening to the NOFX version, I couldn't believe that it was a cover of this.

  • I'm 21. Turn 22 in December, and MAN! I'm positive I'll buy some Vinyl to enjoy what the music industry rarelly do anymore.

  • Great vid for a super classic big song

  • Some of you folks need a life. Music is the 'spice' of life. If it's a pursuit, you might as well be video gaming.

  • @rcarroll88

Who are you to judge the way others live their lives? And are musicians not in a pursuit of music?

  • So classy and so sincere. Thank God for Billie Holiday :)

  • PS : sorry for the multiple comment, but I had to write all this down now :)

  • My name is Hugh, I'm pushing 65 and I also love this music but make no mistake, I would not have been allowed to sit in certain restaurants or aspire to certain jobs (let alone president) so let's enjoy while we keep the truth in perspective.

  • @CalvinRocsxD You like this kind of music an you're 13? I thought I was the only one.

  • @deathray393 haha me too.. well I'm 14 (:

  • @kayandmady12 I am actually 14, I just said that because the age difference is not significant

  • @deathray393 ah, ok (: hahah this song has been stuck in my head for the last week

  • It's been in mine for like a year, ever since I played it in my school's jazz band.

  • @CalvinRocsxD - congratulations litlle boy!! i also wish i would of been born en the 50's... i'm 22 now. and i love this kind of songs...

  • @CalvinRocsxD i wish i was born in the 40s so i would be old enough to appreciate the 50s music

  • @CalvinRocsxD @CalvinRocsxD Would have/would've**. The 50's isn't even when it all started; to have fully enjoyed the prime of Jazz, you should've been born in the early 20th century. A lot of 50's children know nothing of this music.

  • @Dan3043

I'm 21, and I think there's nothing better than Billie to chill out and nothing better than Louis to feel an instant 30000 volt power-up.

I listen to nearly all kind of music as long as it's good, that means I can listen to Jazz, Hip-Hop, Drum'n'Bass, Progressive Rock, Heavy Metal, Classical, House, Blues, Reggae and a number of other genres so high I can't even name most of them.

  • @gt4lex

But there are masterpieces made by incredible artists, that pushed youngest musicians to give us their best, and some of them have also pushed others in this way. I spend hours on youtube and music channels every day, browsing randomly to discover new things, and I hit some awesome stuff, both old and very recent.

  • @gt4lex

However, no matter how much tracks or songs I add to my playlist, there is always a moment when I come accross one of those marvellous classics, then listen to classics during hours shaking my head, moving my body and swinging my arms. I also play them in every circumstances, in car, on way to school (or work now), when I cook, when I sleep, and I never can't help to feel good !

I agree that a lot of young guys are close-minded but I know a lot of youngs who still appreciate this.

  • @gt4lex It's wonderful that you have educated yourself to be able to appreciate beauty from so many different sources. The truth is, I essentially listen to music everyday all day, and depending on what I'm doing, and what my mood is, that's the sort of music I listen to. Whether I'm doing school work, showering, cooking, walking, happy, 'bluesy', inspired, etc. My music library is composed of 20k+ songs, and that's from old Jazz, music to the 70's (Carpenters, Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire...)

  • ...to the 80's (Fleet Wood Mac, Michael Jackson, Stylistics, Madonna, Donna Summer...). I'm a 90's child, so I have early 90's dance stuff and the late 90's pop explosion and New Age peak, groups like The Cardigans, The Cranberries, The Corrs, Garbage, Alanis.... I have lots of contemporary music.... I pride myself on being able to recognize most any song that anyone asks me about, even if I don't like it. Music is my passion and it's my life philosophy... I live, breath and eat music. =D

  • @gt4lex I'm 21 myself, and I reckon there's something that this music has and evokes, which can't really be said for any other genre. Billie, Ella, Louis, Nat King, Nina, Dinah, Sarah... amongst others; they're just incredible. I also enjoy comtemporary jazz geniuses.

Nonetheless, I must admit, I too am fond of other music genres, which as well set different moods that jazz/blues can't. I love chill-out music, new age, house, opera, indie music and there is some mainstream music I enjoy as well

  • dificil escolher o que é melhor o video(sensacional) ou a musica(maravilhosa)

  • Very cool video, the conch shell and the horn, Sweet

  • Marry Me ^^ )

  • smooth

  • Such a nice and sensitive film.

  • @MattLikesMusic27 you mean the '30s? this is really different from '50s music :)

  • @MattLikesMusic27 My son who's you age always says the same... :o)

  • @MattLikesMusic27 I think she recorded this in the 40's and the song was written in the 30's

  • @MattLikesMusic27

It's cool you like the 50's, but this song was written in 1931, and this version is from 1941. Some of the best songs come from this era.

  • @Ribzypunk yes best songwriting standards are form that era

  • @MattLikesMusic27 like Mj said YOua r enot alone dude...those were THE YEARS

  • @MattLikesMusic27 No offence Matt but she died in 1959 and recorded very little between 54 and 59 you really needed to have lived in the 30's

  • @MattLikesMusic27 Same here. lol

  • @MattLikesMusic27 Me too!!! I love everything about the 50's! <3

  • @MattLikesMusic27 My name is Jean-Luc. I am 16. I'm with Matt 100%.

  • @XxMaggeexX

Comments like this just prove that the old greats will never truly die.

  • @Demendred1605 Never. How could something so soul filled die? Comments like this give me hope in our youth, I don't think I've ever had someone tell me they listen to Billie too.

  • Her voice just gets in there and sort of, well, I think 'tickles' your heart. That's the best I can do to describe it. It's sort of a real deep down naked thing.
