Very clever, but every baby can do that. Really. Babies can easily learn stuff like that. This is not really reading (yet), it's recognition of words, just like they remember faces and their favorite toys. Still, more parents should do this, because it's very good brain-training and babies love to learn. They will have a head start later on. I started a few months ago with my boy. He's 18 months old and already recognises about 120 words and begins to understand how to use individual letters.

They will learn the things they're interested in. All babies have their own order of doing things. My nephew didn't like talking at all, but he was riding his bicycle at 3 years old. The neighbour's girl is playing the piano and she's 4. I believe you should let children go their own way and guide and support them. As long as it makes them happy and you are not pushing them.

See, I like this BECAUSE she was taught. If she wasn't, I'd think she's inhuman and we need to get rid of her because the world is going to end.
