If you answer this I would apreciate it.... When you are doing your final mixing do you use.
A. headphones
B. speakers Cuz I always have trouble getting my songs mixed cuz it sound good in headphones but like poop on a stereo. If it makes you feel any better I subscribed earlier today :)
ive been having a lot of trouble when mixing kicks. the mix is perfect when its in fl but when i export it to itunes or any other program i can barely hear the kick -__-
Same question as SHARY, how do u link the out puts on the mixer tracks to an empty mixer track, to be able to control the volume?? SOME ONE HELP please
Hey, Have you guys seen the new Windows 7 powered StudioBLADE computer workstations? They're perfect for running FL Studio and all your windows compatable plug-ins! Click the link below to see videos!
YOU HAVE THE MOST ANNOYING VOICE ON YOUTUBE AND EVERYTIME I CLICK ANOTHER VIDEO ON YOUTUBE OF A TUTORIAL AND ITS YOU IT JUST MAKES ME WANNA KILL MYSELF AS SOON AS I HEAR THE FIRST WORD YOU SAY LOL BUT YOU STILL GIVE A LOOOOOOT OF HELP SO APPRECIATE THAT BUT GOT DAMN LOL
nice tips man.this is not that important but i noticed you right click and hit reset to set your stuff to default.its fast to hover over your setting knob and click the mouse wheel.you can also do that on your tempo...it sets it to 120 bpm.
well you are gonna go mixer menu, then look at the very top of the mixer display and click tp open.
after that look for the word " rename" there you can type the name you want and change the color you want.( its the little sqaure box right next to it, click on that and problem solved.
@ canavaro100, to change the color of your mixer channels, all you have to do is to rename the channel. as you rename it there is a small box just right after the textbox, click it.
You do that if you want to apply the same effects to those channels as a whole, instead of applying the exact same effects to individual channel. It is a good technique bcz it allows all those instruments to play together as one unit, not different pieces. Hope it helps.
can any1 help me? ive been working on fuity loops for a while now and ive finally got a couple tracks that i actually like and ive exported a couple 2 mp3 but the quality of sound is just okay nothing speacial, can u send me a video that coul help me as i dont no wot step 2 take next thankx!
i dont know that much, but i think its cause you have the digital interface with fl. Unfortunely the only advise i was givin was that CD-R's are cheap, so keep burning and listening on stereos and crappy speakers until you get what you are looking for. Then use that as a "skeleton" for future projects. It worked for me and thats how everyone i have been around did it. its time consuming but so is making music, the more you put in the more you will get out
I was always so scared of tackling the mixer, but you break it down so easily that I'm itching to try some things out now! Thanks so much for this great tutorial.
hey NFX. awesome tutorials you got there man. I was wondering... is there a way to listen to your songs ? I love your beats, and it would be great to listen to the whole thing. :) I'm a fruity user too, been for 6 years now, but you still manage to teach me some new ways to do the work. but yeh back to the topic... I really would enjoy listening to your songs... maybe on your website ?
You always have some good info! Im not a Fruityloops fan, I like hardware, but you go over some interesting concepts which I can apply there. Youre right on with rollin the lows off the hats, and the highs off the kicks! The only thing confusing was the compressor, I think you mentioned it, but its not just a limiter :) Good video!
1. How to create a new output, and put in a mixer? (yours is 'Drums') I only have an option to put my soundcard.
2. Please make a tutorial about compression..
3. How to make a Kick and Snare/Clap like there was in 'Busta Rhymes - Get You Some'' (I think its a combination of EQ and Compression - but Im not sure)
4. I Think U forgot about saying something about panning drums..
Thanx for the tutorials.. Learned a lot about music structure from U.. Hope to learn more
I saw the video you've made about drum mixing, its great!
i've seen the way that you have routed the drum mix channel into a single mix channel [channel 5 if my memory is with me].
i have an fl studio 8 xxl version, i haven't found the option in the mixer to rout in the way that you did, do you know by any chance what the problem is?
A nice tip when mixing drums is to pan them to the position they appear in the kit, so, the Bass would be panned centre, pan the high rack tom just a touch to the right and the middle tom just a touch to the left...... pan the snare a bit further (than the high tom) to the right and the low floor tom a bit further (than the mid tom)to the left....
@Steshaa That is a good tip, but it doesn't make sense from a standpoint of realism. When live drums are recorded, each drum usually has its own mic, so if you pan it, theres no reason to pan it in any certain direction.

The individual low frequency roll-off (even when it's not audible below like 250HZ) is sage advice. I probably don't remember to do that as much as I should . . . I tend to roll the entire mix off very steeply at like 60HZ, which is lazy and less effective. I never liked the way FL Studio records audio . . . I'll often take an FL Studio mix as a .wav file over to Sonar to record vocals.
If I'm using something like Native Insturments Battery, I'm able to load it into one channel, control multiple parts in the Piano Roll for that channel, but still EQ/chorus/pan/compression to each sound within the actual plugin. But you're right . . . I can't add VST plugins to each part that way, or automate changes.

@JDizz617 most people arent aiming for realism, if they were they'd have a drum set and be in a band
