  • If you answer this I would apreciate it.... When you are doing your final mixing do you use.

    A. headphones

    B. speakers Cuz I always have trouble getting my songs mixed cuz it sound good in headphones but like poop on a stereo. If it makes you feel any better I subscribed earlier today :)

  • @codemiesterbeats I've found that running it through your stereo is the best way to do it without buying studio monitors.

  • Respect from Pakistan :) Lol you already are successful enough as people prefer coming to you even instead of the 'image line' tutorials :D

  • thanks for the tutorials there the best

  • yo how do you get the effects on the bottom of the mixer and tracks on top, i messed with my mixer view settings and couldn't get it like that

  • wow! thank you so much! i really love how it took 18 mins but feels like it took 5! i really learned alot, thank you! you are the best! i subbed!

  • Same question as SHARY, how do u link the out puts on the mixer tracks to an empty mixer track, to be able to control the volume?? SOME ONE HELP please

  • how did u make another mixer track of drums,,that controls drums collectively????

  • I really like the ong at the end ver creative sounds! Thank you again for great tutorial! I can't thank u enough!

  • What are those lines at the bottom of the channel imports?

  • Do you guys kind Compression bass and kick works for you ? I also heard some use a bit of Comp on every sound ?

  • great ! And i thought compression is F-in useless to use. i suck big time..good tips on drums panning too..

  • Good tutorial, but you kinda drag on some times. A whole lotta "um" And "uhhh"

    lol. Still good though. Thnx

  • @eleckson true!

  • Great video, very helpful.

  • I'm happy with what I've learned here. I thumbed up.

  • good lookn, nfx. keep it upp.

  • Comment removed

  • nice tips man.this is not that important but i noticed you right click and hit reset to set your stuff to default.its fast to hover over your setting knob and click the mouse wheel.you can also do that on your tempo...it sets it to 120 bpm.

  • Hi nfxbeats, firts thank you so much for all your tutorials it's very useful.

I just want ask you if i can find this video and the old ones in "HD" somewhere ?

    Thanks :)

  • @djustplc If you want to watch any video in HD. put fmt=18 next to the URL

  • what are those small bars on the pattern below some of the sounds?

  • dude just please get to the point

  • this guy's tuts are good but they're always too drawn out

  • how do i change color on the instruments or the mixer channels?

  • @canavaro100

    @canavaro100

well you are gonna go mixer menu, then look at the very top of the mixer display and click tp open.

after that look for the word " rename" there you can type the name you want and change the color you want.( its the little sqaure box right next to it, click on that and problem solved.

  • They are plugins and generators. You cant change the color yourself

  • @ canavaro100, to change the color of your mixer channels, all you have to do is to rename the channel. as you rename it there is a small box just right after the textbox, click it.

  • actually the best thing is to not rise the EQs at all the best thing is to reduce the other ones instead, so u should never rise freqvensy :)

  • @maxlarsen, why?

  • i dont get the part how he sends all his drum-fx-channels to the drum-master-channel.

i cant choose channels with the out-option.

    can someone help please?

  • You do that if you want to apply the same effects to those channels as a whole, instead of applying the exact same effects to individual channel. It is a good technique bcz it allows all those instruments to play together as one unit, not different pieces. Hope it helps.

  • why does he put all the drums into different channels and then send it to another as a whole? sumone plz

  • @MrKWRradio - So you only have to press one button to mute all of the drums. It can also be used to put an effect on all of the drums at once.

  • very helpful! thanks mans!

  • how do you color channels?

  • i think it was rename you channel and pick a color

  • Yes youre absolutely right, when you want to rename a channel there's little square box where you can pick up the color. Thanks!

  • man you dont sucks to tutorials but you hve to do them abit shorter... 3/5 it was a little bit boring at the last

  • how do u make the drums phat and stand out in the music some more?

  • good with the mountain anlogy

  • cool man, podrias por favor + tutos.

  • hey man nice vid. whats your soundclick again?

  • you ever did a tutorial on mixing with outboard compressors/eq with fl studio?

  • i thought you are to keep every channel in green on each meter when mixing in fl studio

  • hi thankx again for the great vidz,

can any1 help me? ive been working on fuity loops for a while now and ive finally got a couple tracks that i actually like and ive exported a couple 2 mp3 but the quality of sound is just okay nothing speacial, can u send me a video that coul help me as i dont no wot step 2 take next thankx!

  • i dont know that much, but i think its cause you have the digital interface with fl. Unfortunely the only advise i was givin was that CD-R's are cheap, so keep burning and listening on stereos and crappy speakers until you get what you are looking for. Then use that as a "skeleton" for future projects. It worked for me and thats how everyone i have been around did it. its time consuming but so is making music, the more you put in the more you will get out

  • man you are a real cool cat. the information is very useful to newcomers. thanks yo! king jamil.

  • This Helped Thanks !

  • I was always so scared of tackling the mixer, but you break it down so easily that I'm itching to try some things out now! Thanks so much for this great tutorial.

  • hey NFX. awesome tutorials you got there man. I was wondering... is there a way to listen to your songs ? I love your beats, and it would be great to listen to the whole thing. :) I'm a fruity user too, been for 6 years now, but you still manage to teach me some new ways to do the work. but yeh back to the topic... I really would enjoy listening to your songs... maybe on your website ?

  • I just got a M-audio keyboard in i can't get my pitch bend n modulation to work with my fl studio. Can u help me out ? Thanks

  • damn i got the same problem with my maudio keyboard...

    NFX help us!!!

  • the same with me!! please nfx help us!

  • me also!!

  • You always have some good info! Im not a Fruityloops fan, I like hardware, but you go over some interesting concepts which I can apply there. Youre right on with rollin the lows off the hats, and the highs off the kicks! The only thing confusing was the compressor, I think you mentioned it, but its not just a limiter :) Good video!

  • this is the second tutorial of yours that I have seen

In these two tutorials I have learned more than anyone on the net at one time

    thx

    keep them coming

  • How do you collapse the channles that arent being used like the two channles at the bottom in the beginning? thanks.

  • 1. How to create a new output, and put in a mixer? (yours is 'Drums') I only have an option to put my soundcard.

    2. Please make a tutorial about compression..

    3. How to make a Kick and Snare/Clap like there was in 'Busta Rhymes - Get You Some'' (I think its a combination of EQ and Compression - but Im not sure)

    4. I Think U forgot about saying something about panning drums..

Thanx for the tutorials.. Learned a lot about music structure from U.. Hope to learn more

  • NFX as usual... The best FL tutorials world wide

  • Thank You Very Very Much!

  • I saw the video you've made about drum mixing, its great!

i've seen the way that you have routed the drum mix channel into a single mix channel [channel 5 if my memory is with me].

i have an fl studio 8 xxl version, i haven't found the option in the mixer to rout in the way that you did, do you know by any chance what the problem is?

    thanks in advanced! :-D

  • Nice!!!

  • A nice tip when mixing drums is to pan them to the position they appear in the kit, so, the Bass would be panned centre, pan the high rack tom just a touch to the right and the middle tom just a touch to the left...... pan the snare a bit further (than the high tom) to the right and the low floor tom a bit further (than the mid tom)to the left....

This really helps to add width to your drum mix.

  • Props man. I'll keep that in mind.

  • @Steshaa That is a good tip, but it doesn't make sense from a standpoint of realism. When live drums are recorded, each drum usually has its own mic, so if you pan it, theres no reason to pan it in any certain direction.

  • @JDizz617 most people arent aiming for realism, if they were they'd have a drum set and be in a band

  • @Kawabic I understand that. But he's saying that panning drums makes them sound more realistic.

  • Garfler, It's called not being an idiot.

  • Thanks for this man!

i always just used to add any random preset to the drums to make them sound clearer, but I understand much more now.

    Great video though!

  • thanx!! this is really helpful!

  • oh, sto tipo mi asciuga... però è il capo di fruity!!

  • thanks professor. i think mixing is harder n more important than the actual making of the beat. Im subscribing now

  • I recommend Kjaerhus reverb and compressor, find it very powerfull!

  • Very good! Very, very good! It cleared up all the confusion for me & now I understand how to mix & when to add compression to my drums!

  • awesome thanks man. Been trying to self teach myself how to mix music. It's a new hobby of mine and i'm so glad for these wicked tutorials.

  • really helped a lot i used to pump the kicks to 0db -_-

  • i have 5 years making music and i cant mix, thanks for your tuturial

  • gotta give props, these videos are a great resource

  • By far the best tutorials I have ever watched on fruity loops. I'll thank you during my first grammy acceptance speech...I promise.

  • se agradece q compartas tu conocimiento

  • Every time I watch one of these videos I learn something new! thanks again :D

  • Same here!

  • hallo your verry no al .

    thanks from djnicson.intres.

  • great work!!!!! god bless you NFX!

  • idiot.. do something useful in life and then talk... mf

  • @kannadaguy if you don't like him don't watch his videos, you are watching and learning and talk sh!t about him at least say thank you

  • @djsaad44 Agree with you. Kannadaguy wants a record deal but his demo sounds shitty so he's mad. lol jk

  • @kannadaguy

See, this is why nobody likes canada

  • @s1lentGFX He isnt dissing NFX man there was a user 2 years back who put a shitty comment. the comment was directed at that guy...coz right after that kannadaguy praised NFX for this vid ...chk the first page of comments

  • @asapscrapme

    thnx 4 givin meh lrninz

  • Learn to type and spell! Stay in school then people can read your "disses".

  • my friend, i dont really think we get marks on youtube?

  • interesting vid. and tay commented it :O

  • The individual low frequency roll-off (even when it's not audible below like 250HZ) is sage advice. I probably don't remember to do that as much as I should . . . I tend to roll the entire mix off very steeply at like 60HZ, which is lazy and less effective. I never liked the way FL Studio records audio . . . I'll often take an FL Studio mix as a .wav file over to Sonar to record vocals.

  • I do the same thing with FL and Sonar!

  • this is in FL :s

  • If I'm using something like Native Insturments Battery, I'm able to load it into one channel, control multiple parts in the Piano Roll for that channel, but still EQ/chorus/pan/compression to each sound within the actual plugin. But you're right . . . I can't add VST plugins to each part that way, or automate changes.
