  • Jeepster...what a great video! I took the time t oinspect the pcv hose and just as in your video....it is collapsed. (might not be leaking...but it is collapsed). I looked up the part on Rock Auto and all I could find was KCV116. The photos shows the part but the elbow in the picture looks like rubber (just like the collapsed one) where yours looks like the elbow is a beefed up rubber or plastic. What part number did you order from rock? Also, any tips on how to make the pipe installer?

  • @Gudog1 Hey! Glad you liked the video. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I ordered the EV243 for the valve and the KCV116 for the hose. (yeah it is way different than the picture on the site.)

On the tool I made... I made it out of 3/4" PVC pipe. I took the new pcv valve and marked what I needed to cut out of the center of the pvc to make a socket to fit perfect. Then I took a Dremel tool with a grinder bit and ground it out to fit! Hope that helps! Thanks again for watching!

  • Thanks for making this video. I used your information to change the PCV valve in my wife's 2003 Ford Taurus. It had the same tear that you showed in the video. Also the tool you made to remove the PCV valve works like a champ, I probably would not have thought about it. Great video! Thanks again. JR from Houston!

  • @HoustonScreenPrint Glad you were able to use it! Thanks for watching!

  • This is a much better video than jamlinc's. Thank you for this. I couldn't find the PCV valve until this video.

  • @reedjasonf Glad you were able to use it! Thanks for watching!!

  • Hi, I just noticed that the elbow connecting the hose to my engine block is broken off. I've been trying to find the elbow with the correct dimensions (3/8 x 5/8), but I guess it doesn't exist. I'm about to order the hose, when you got your hose did it include the elbow that connects to the block? Thanks

  • @eckert86

on the 2000 model (the one in the video) the pcv valve goes straight in. The only elbow was the rubber one going into the air intake after the throttle body. That hose came pre-fab with the elbow on. I know some models actually have a pcv valve that is in a 90° right into the valve cover.

  • awesome thanks for the video guys.. I have a P0174 code! and I can see that the rubber hose part collapses when the car is on.

  • @PeterObi Glad it helped! That code drove me crazy for three months before I found out this was the problem!
