And that's still true at this speed. Actually, I find that I get closer to having a wreck when I'm doing the speed limit because people in their cars don't check their mirrors/blind spots and swerve over at me, but when I'm doing this I don't even give them time to not check their mirrors. Believe it or not, we process so many what-ifs during a ride like this that we never put ourselves in a situation where we wouldn't be able to get out of if something didn't go as planned.

I know people that have ridden like this for 15-20 years, and they have never wrecked, nor caused anyone to wreck. It's all in the reflexes. All the people who say it's suicidal or that natural selection is going to get them, obviously they've never done it. When we do this, even with human reaction time included (which btw, I guarantee a sportbike rider always has quicker-than-average reaction time,) we can avoid people swerving over, junk in the road, etc. much faster than a car can. Reflexes.

@hubermsj It's called lanesplitting and is allowed in some states, California if I remember correctly is one of them. It's due to sportbikes being cooled by air, so if you're stuck in a traffic jam your bike will overheat pretty quickly (really easy to notice, my zx6r went from 63 degrees celsius on the highway to 106 degrees in the city).

Of course it's not fair in the eyes of most car drivers, but that's one of the advantages of having a motorcycle.
