Its all basic D major chords, D , G & A, and a Em7 somewhere in the chorus.... its a simple structure, but maybe a bit difficult to get the melody woven in...

I see your point & I played it much slower before and increased the tempo for this recording on purpose.

I had the feeling that a slower more rubato playing made it a bit kitschy.
