  • Superb film.... why.... you didnt try and make it the 1960s.... great record of steam on the mainline... kids, stations and life today... well done ... wish it was one of my films....

  • Ah jaysus who's the lardass?

  • NICE ONE, shame about the lump of lard

  • nice video, I judt heard about this Locomotive recently, keep the videos coming!

  • Very well put together film.

I will be starting to build a 5 inch gauge live steam Tornado later this year

  • That's Vauxhall

  • Nice Video, but why did it need that diesel engine coupled to the rear of the train. 5* vid. Cheers.

  • its for 2 main Reasons ! One for a Brake and other for insurance

  • @Plattythegreat even as early as the 1930s, trains needed to have a generator car to supply power. For modern operation with carriages, it is considered essential to have an electrical supply. Rather than get one of the rare and tempramental generator carriages to go into the formation, they simply slotted the locomotive in. It does also provide good reserves for braking and confirming signalling via the in-cab computer. Same thing happens on the Royal Train and such.

  • Let's face it, the fat t**t was going to get in the way wherever she stood. I'd have given her a good kicking if she'd done that to me! Ignorant cretin.

  • nice one That woman was not nice to you

  • That woman in the beige coat at Franborough.........how annoying!!!! Took a photo while staning in your way, and loads of other peoples I presume, then just wanders off down the paltform and ruins everyone elses shots. Really gets under me skin!

  • Ah i had the same problem with the scotch guardsman there a man with his daughter walks stright in frount of when im filming i was annoyed

  • Great footage and have to comment on the Tripod you use. Smooth panning motion!

  • Well done,

the last bit of footage was really great.

  • Top notch video.

On that day I was walking to Hounslow when I saw all of these people standing on a footbridge....So I whipped out my Ixus...Oooer missus!!! and got a short video. Learnt one thing though. Don't stand right above the steamer you tend not to see alot.

  • great vid m8 5*

  • great vid 5*

  • Great video mate!! 5* and fav!

  • Great video, tks for the posting.

Notice the lardass just waddled off after she took her photo, but despite her very enjoyable.

  • This locomotive is absolutely amazing. The only thing missing is an SP 6-chime whistle on it. Don't get me wrong, its current whistle sounds great.

  • dont you mean whistles, its got 2

  • It does?

  • Yep, a chime whistle behind the left smoke deflector, and it's standard one where the whistle is normally!!

  • Brilliant video

  • This is an absolutely brilliant video. SO well edited and lovely to see such well done footage of other people out to see Tornado. Just a shame that sometimes people can be so selfish when it comes to getting their own shot. But in spite of that a really brilliant video, thank you for sharing!

  • I like the scene setting with the washing on the line, etc. Lucky to get a nice unobstructed view of departure. You should have said something to the fat bird, though.

I also note the graffiti on the 450 at 1:40. I feel that SWT's standards are slipping.

  • Nice video compilation, pity about the gargantuan woman blocking the view 4.12

  • Well done! Though brief I thought the night shot worked well.

  • Who was that fat **w getting in the way? what an ignorant so and so! to top it all she walked off once she had a picture.. selfish bint!

  • An excellently constructed video showing life around 'Tornado' for a day. Well done.

  • How is that possible?? I am still in disbelief on how that actually happened. Thank God for You Tube because moments like these would never get exposure. haha!

  • Superb film. I've now subscribed to your account.

  • used to have Classic Warships on this line, good for a Kettle

  • 5* i think lots of people in the way is going to problem with Tornado but lots of intrest will keep steam going .Though i would have been mad too.have to find remote places with Tornado .

  • Superb video. 5*

  • Nice film, well edited, kept it interesting. As for that woman, a good example of the kind who don't look before pulling out when driving or pushing a supermarket trolly!

  • Cool video dude :)

  • Stupid woman...

    Otherwise, absolutely fantastic!

  • Excellent stuff all things considered! My favourite haunts were all so well populated I didnt even bother to film - I bet there were more shots taken of the back of people's heads than at a Glastonbury Festival. As for the 'lady' in the striped pants - off like a rocket before the train had even passed - you do wonder what she'll do with her pic...let's hope she sees yours. Thanks for posting.

  • Great!!
