Am I the only one that already noticed the similarities between Dr. Jigoro Kano´s judo origin strory, and the Helio Gracie BJJ Origin Story ?! lolololol...hum....Which came first?! ... Humm let me See ;) Gracie´s didn´t Invent sh*t. They excelled at Ne waza and improved it that´s it. Nothing ground breaking there. Ohhh He also claims that learnt just from watching is older brother teach. WOW ! No need to really spar anymore. Watch BJJ instructionals and it´s enough ;)
Good video, but one comment. Techniques that cut off blood supply to the brain are strangles. A choke is where you cut off the air supply, such as in Hadaka Jime. It's a subtle difference, but an important one.
wow that looks really fun. i'm thinking about trying to join the Sacramento Judo Club if they have openings for new students. i'm going to start working with the California Conservation Corp and the Sacramento Judo Club is really close to the headcourters. i hope that i can afford it because it seems that SJC is the only Judo dojo in Sacramento . I have heard many great things about it. do you have any suggestion for how i can prepare myself before I start?
Come to practice and commit is my main advice. Judo can be scary at first. Once you learn how to fall and figure out that you wont get hurt, you'll be ok. Its tough but great fun when you learn the moves.
Thank you for the comment, The credit here goes mainly to Marek Damm the producer, director...etc. This was a project for his film class and he did a great job.
Marek initiated the project and took care of the whole production process to make it as it is. Michael Murrel, however, wrote the script and cast the team and spent quite time to do voice over. Ted Meissner played a role of a script supervisor and helped to put cuts in the right order. Mitchell Palacio, CCSF Judo Head Coach, should be credited as location manager. CCSF Judo Club members are great fighters (also gold medalists), very friendly and cooperative. Expect here more videos with them.

This man is very articulate. He should also make "movies" beyond Judo. Perhaps a fictional, or documentary about something interesting.
