Funny to see the players show up in this thread. I first saw TMBG at their Variety Art Theater residency a month after this video was shot. I went on to see TMBG dozens more times, but I'll never forget that first show. The Variety Arts was recently demolished for an ugly glass tower. What a drag. Well, hi to JD and K. Hoffman.
Hi, I'm "JD" Feinberg, the drummer from that version of the band. The keyboardist/clarinetist at the time was Kurt Hoffman. Oops, I see he has already chimed in. Hello, Kurt. How are you?
Linnell is playing the accordian, so who is playing that Piano part?? uh, is it a tape or something? can't complain about a 15 yr old video though, cheers
yes forgive me, all their shows were on tape for a while so that would explain the poor audio, but why even have those other guys there, no bass whatsoever
Great work. It doesn't carry through fully here, but a magical CD track and a great CD -- I think the band's best.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not, but it's from 1992. Dan Miller wasn't born yet.

no way!?!
He's not THAT young is he?
and tmbw is down so I can't find out....

he wasn't in the band until, like, 1999, but i'm pretty sure he was alive

I was born in '93. I'm currently 15 as of 2008.
Dan Miller's around 40. He just recently got married.

I actually think that this is the best I've heard John Linnell's voice, he's got this cool vibrato thing going on.
I love these guys ever so!

this is three days after I was born...that blows my mind. And they're still just as good 15 years later :-)

During the first tour with a full band, Kurt Hoffman played Keyboards and Sax. So that's Kurt on the piano.

it is indeed me! I look like a blur, but can hear all too clearly the piano sound of the Proteus I. How strange.

Not too bad of a performance, but sincerely they could have done better. I love this song.

This is one of my favorite TMBG songs, but this performance is kind of meh.

I think this is because you can only hear the piano, accordion, and snare drum.
