  • hello - a question -

I use a wacom tablet and pen for drawing and animation /- would ithis work for that kind of thing - could i use a tablet pen on this mc frame- - it seems like a perfect tool ...many thanks.

  • @SAMUELFIRMAN - You can use a pen to draw or write on the MotionCOMMAND, but it is not pressure sensitive like the Wacom tablet.

  • Based on the video review, wouldn't the buttons of the monitor be blocked by the frame? And if the double-sided tape is as strong as you claim, wouldn't that be a problem when turning off the monitor? Care to clarify on this situation? Thanks!

  • @merovaine - If the monitor is a TV, it should have a remote you can use. If it's a video monitor, usually when you set it, you never go back to change the picture. So most people just go into their power settings in the computer and set the monitor to turn off after non-use for 15min, 30mins, 1hour..etc... You can also use velcro instead of the double sided tape and it will give you just enough space to gently push the edge of the MotionCOMMAND to hit the on off button.

  • how can we buy that ? is it available in 32"?

  • @TheAspire2930 - Yes please check our online store in our site. MusicComputingDOTcom

  • @musiccomputing thankz....

  • is this available in 22" widescreen?

  • @harness79 - Yes, the 22" is a wide-screen. All MotionCOMMAND products are widescreen except for the 17".

  • It looks like the glass touchscreen panel is covering the control buttons on the monitor. Will that be a problem or is it possible to cut the glass so that the buttons are accessible?

  • @TNRScoPtyLtd If the monitor is a TV, it should have a remote you can use. If it's a video monitor, usually when you set it, you never go back to change the picture. So most people just go into their power settings in the computer and set the monitor to turn off after non-use for 15min, 30mins, 1hour..etc... • I have a 17" Motion command frame, and now i work with mac will it work with the 32" OSX driver?

  • @kmendez13 - Unfortunately no.

  • Would this work with Ubuntu?

  • @steeloavenger - Unfortunately we do not support Ubuntu at this time.

  • Can I use with pen to paint?

  • @Funmichi - yes, but it is not pressure sensitive like a Wacom tablet.

  • Dose the multi touch frame work on games on your computer like World of Warcraft?

  • @SinxObjectiveX - Yes, the MotionCOMMAND will control anything you see on the screen...

  • Looks awesome..the pricing is the main thing holding me back from a 42" screen

  • @akhanhk - We already have the lowest prices in the world. Many people think since they can get a touchscreen on their iphone for about $99 (with a 2 year plan remember), that touchscreen are inexpensive. But it really isn't unfortunately. A 42" touch screen is exponentially larger than the 4.5" screen on your phone. So, they do cost more. But then if you bought a iPhone without a plan, it can cost you hundreds of dollars too! :)

  • I bet you have to press hard for this to do something

  • @maloney670 - Actually you don't need to even make contact to use the MotionCOMMAND touchscreens. They operate using an IR field right above the glass so all you have to do is to break the field for it to work. The glass is just to give your fingers feedback that it has touched something. This also means there are no moving parts and will not wear out like capacitive or resistive touchscreens. .

  • @musiccomputing Yeah but still I don't see the point in getting it. I prefer normal mouse and keyboard, touchscreens are good for phones and tablets, not pc's. Like how would I play CoD on that thing ????? O.o

  • @maloney670 - LOL! - We'll do some testing with the MotionCOMMANDS and CoD and get back to you. That's R&D we're sure to enjoy!

  • is very expensive. for a 32 " screen you have to pay $ 800. with that money I would buy a HD TV 55"

  • @minor25 - Yes, but that's a TV not a multi-touch touchscreen. We already have the lowest prices in the world, so you're not going to find it less expensive anywhere else.

  • what about the buttons?

  • @RifleMorre If the monitor is a TV, it should have a remote you can use.

  • nice

  • very good

  • 2 questions:

    1) How and where can i get these frames? do u have shipping or mailing?

    2) Is it compatible for laptops, notebooks, netbooks. all monitors?

  • @danielOconahap - You can purchase direct from us through our online store: musiccomputingDOTcom. It is not compatible with laptops or netbooks, but it can be used on any video monitor or TV.

  • can this work with mac

  • @supajt - Yes, there are Mac OS X versions of the 32" and larger models. Please check our online store at: musiccomputingDOTcom

  • Hello Question, is it possible to actually draw on the motion Command like a Graphics Tablet? And do you guys deliver overseas?

  • @pickemrollemfickem - Yes, you can draw in various software applications using the MotionCOMMAND, but it is not pressure sensitive like the ones from Wacom. We can ship overseas directly to you and will pay 50% of the shipping cost. Details can be found in our online store at: musiccomputingDOTcom

  • how would you change the settings on the monitor if the MotionCOMMAND FRAME go over it? Also, what if the buttons were touch sensitive? Do you make laptop frames?

  • @Novavon7 - We do not offer versions for laptops currently.

  • @Novavon7 - If the monitor is a TV, it should have a remote you can use. If it's a video monitor, usually when you set it, you never go back to change the picture. So most people just go into their power settings in the computer and set the monitor to turn off after non-use for 15min, 30mins, 1hour..etc... • We do interested on your Products, may you give me an email add to contact?

    Thank you so much

    paul_shi0301@yahoo.com

  • @kyo0328 - Youtube does not allow users to post email or web addresses. But our web site is: musiccomputingDOTcom. You can find a contact page there to get in touch with us.

  • If you pushed harder on the bottom right, it would have pressed the button the monitor would have closed.

  • How do you turn the monitor off, or adjust the settings on the monitor? It looked like it covered up the controls on the monitor.

  • @tromboneboy50 - If the monitor is a TV, it should have a remote you can use.

  • what if you have a webcam?

  • @luckiestorm - The MotionCOMMAND FRAME is independent of your webcam, so they should work fine together...

  • wow

  • This is useful, though the attachment should be better, such as just a curved hook on the top of the device that can just sit on the top of the monitor.

  • What is the name of that DJ application he brought up?

  • @AzureSteel - The DJ application was Deckadance, but you can use any one you like.

  • You should make these for 19", 24", and 27" LCD Displays seeing as how they are the most common sized monitors these days... Who's brilliant idea was it to make these frames for ODD sized monitors? Stupid shit like that is what put's people out of business.

  • @dixierebel1929 - We can make the MotionCOMMAND series touchscreen in any size up to 100". All you have to do is to contact us if you have a specific size requirement. We have customers that do that all the time.

  • how to right click???

  • @fugiwaraX - Just press and hold down and it will pop up the right click menu

  • that is friggin cool

  • If you sell a 27inch frame for Windows (that will work in windows 8) I will instantly buy it.

  • Hi, I have a pretty decent PC with Windows 7, the only old hardware in my PC is my monitor but it's still pretty decent. It's a 27inch LCD dell monitor. The thing is, I want to get my computer ready for windows 8. As I know windows 8 will be heavily touchbased but I dont want to buy a new touchscreen monitor.

I really just want it to play around touching the screen, nothing profesional or anything. My question is, will this work with windows 8?

  • that's awesome. now if only i had money...

  • will this work for apple too?

  • @ZacharyCarverMusic - Yes, we have models which are Mac OS X compatible starting at 32' and higher. You can find more info and prices on our website: musiccomputingDOTcom

  • Honestly you get what you pay for... and the quality isn't that high... I recommend saving of for an actual multi touch monitor and experiencing higher quality..

  • @QuantumEra - Thanks for the comment. However, there are a few things we like to point out. Although some "expensive" touchscreens may have a case that encompasses the touch frame and LCD, they all have a touch frame like the MotionCOMMAND FRAME. Because of this, they all pretty much work and feel the same way. The MotionCOMMAND FRAMEs are very high quality and are being used in some of the biggest companies in the world as well as major universities and museums. Check it out on our site.

  • @musiccomputing Exactly, they have a touch frame "like" the MotionCOMMAND frame but it isn't necessarily the same. I've compared this to my Cintiq and as far as quality and feel of the two, I prefer the Cintiq but as for portability I prefer the MotionCOMMAND. The only downside is the MotionCOMMAND can't work on Macs and in an all-mac studio environment that isn't very helpful. But this is a good product for beginners in multi-touch computing.

  • @QuantumEra - the Cintiq is a pen display, not a touch screen. It is designed for use with a pen to draw. They are two totally different things and you can't get a Cintiq larger than 24". The MotionCommand is available up to 100". You can have up to 32 touches at once with the MotionCommand and it will even recognize hand gestures, the Cintiq cannot. MotionCommand from 32" on up are multiple-touch capable for Mac OS X 10.6 & 10.7. Get a Cintiq if you want to draw...MotionCommand to control.

  • @QuantumEra - When we said all touch screens have a frame like the MotionCommand, we meant large format touch screens, pen displays (that's what Wacom calls the Cintiq). By the nature of what they are designed to do, they use a pressure sensitive film over the LCD. These are totally different technologies for different products. That's why you don't see people using Cintiqs as kiosks and controls for general purpose computing. We sell touch screen controllers, not pen displays.

  • I would LOVE to purchase one of these!!! The only downside is that I own a 25 inch monitor and you do not have a screen of that size :( Does anyone know where I can find a similar product with that size maybe?

  • @xRoundEyex - I bet you have a 24" viewable screen. Just measure the viewable area from corner to corner. If it is, we can get you a 24" MotionCOMMAND FRAME. It's $299.

  • @musiccomputing

You do realize that you can buy a NEW 22" multitouch IPS LED monitor for LESS than $300, right? I love your product idea and features, but you have to lower that price soon!

  • @Shogmaster - Yeah, we saw that deal on Woot.com today too. But normally it's $329.99 from DELL. The MotionCOMMAND FRAME 22" is on sale right now for $199, so if you already have a 22" LCD laying around, it's a good deal. If not, you can buy a new 22" LCD for about $100 so you are still getting it cheaper than the $329.99 DELL price. But you should check out our price for the 32" and larger. We have by far the lowest prices anywhere already.

  • can you connect a laptop to a monitor and then use it? Please reply!!

  • @sukhbirgill12 - If you connect a Laptop to a monitor equipped with a MotionCOMMAND FRAME, you will be able to mirror or extend the desktop of the laptop onto the monitor and use the monitor as a touchscreen.

  • @musiccomputing so it will work right

  • @sukhbirgill12 - Yes...it will work...

  • do smartboards work with this

  • @12jayjoe - this is designed to work with LCD of flatscreen video monitors.

  • hey can you can them for laptop and where u get them from

  • @partymatt19 - Unfortunately they are not designed for laptop use, but you can find out more about them at MusicComputingDOTcom

  • can you use it with a projector? can you hook up the usb cord to the projector to make it a touchscreen projector? please right back at jayjoe120@gmail.com when ever you see this comment please right back

  • @12jayjoe - Yes, we have a model that you can use with a projector called MotionCOMMAND Clearview. You can find more info on them at musiccomputingDOTcom

  • This looks cool but Im thinking I would use 2 sided velcro. 1. You could remove it whenever you want. 2 Your tape does not look like its holding very well. 2:45 then 8:10.

  • @DocPicklez - Yes, lot's of our users us Velcro instead. The VHB tape is pretty permanent...It 'really does not come off easy. We take several takes for the video, so by then the ones on the FRAME was probably pretty dirty and used...so it did not stick as well.

  • are u can do a video on this product whit windows 8 dv1?

  • @Ofek0f3k - yes, when Windows 8 is released...

  • @musiccomputing but the window 8 devilepor preview is out for free so whay no check this on it

  • @Ofek0f3k - We say not yet because we only use and suggest our users use released software. A developer preview is not a final release...it's full of bugs and things can change dramatically when it finally is ready for release. We believe our users are more interested in using our equipment than to be beta testing guinea pigs for Microsoft. So, when Windows 8 is released, we will test it and if applicable, recommend it for use by our customers and do demo videos of it.

  • @@Ofek0f3k - Also, it is impossible for us to support a developer preview OS. And if we can't support our customers, then we're not a good company. So until we can support it...we say "NO" to Windows 8.

  • oh sweet GEEZUS this is amazing

  • Would this work with Windows 8's Metro UI?

  • @ericjraack - Sure...

  • how to right click???

    :)

  • @raj21750 - press and hold down and the right click menu will pop up...

  • @musiccomputing

    oh cool!!!!

    is it available in india-mumbai??

i can't buy it frm online....

is it available in shops in india???

  • @raj21750 - you can purchase it directly from our online store.

  • @musiccomputing

    as i said i can't!!!

when it will be in stores?

    specially india!!

  • @raj21750 - You can order by calling us too. But we do not have a dealer in India at this time...

  • I really want to but one, Im in India, So can I purches it from here???

  • @TheBiresh - Yes, from our online store in our company's web site: MusicComputingDOTcom

  • So it doesnt need an external power source just the usb that plugs into the computer? Do you have a website to purchase these?

  • @njmccormick91 - The Windows version is USB only. The Mac OS X version is USB and a power adapter. You can purchase direct from us through our website...

    musiccomputingDOTcom

  • Alright, i do alot of digital painting. Give me a reason why i should buy this and not a Wacom Cintiq besides from the price.

  • @AdamKerow - Actually, if you are used to using a Wacom tablet, that's the best option for you because it's pressure sensitive and the touch screen is not.

  • If I'm on Photoshop or other drawing programs, can you draw & write with this MotionCOMMAND?

  • @AnukKum - Yes, but you cannot set you hand on the screen while drawing like a graphic tablet input device.

  • so if i got a 22" frame, i could put it onto my 22" tv that i use as my computer screen and it would become a touch screen computer basically? if so... im getting 1 in the next month!

  • @jordangrc1 - Yes, that is correct...

  • can u use it with mac?

  • @Jeoffoh - Yes, the 32", 42", 55" and 65" are Mac OS X compatible. However, our license does not allow us to sell them for music use....only the Windows 7 versions.

  • like flirtyguy10, I also have a 24 inch 16:9 display so I would also be interested in a 24 inch size. But what would be even more awesome is if you could do something that takes pen input like the Wacom cintiqs. So I could basically put this on my screen and turn it into a Cintiq where I could draw with a pressure sensitive screen on the screen.

If you get out a model like that I'd be very interested :)

  • @60spaure - What OS are you using? You can currently use a pen with the MotionCOMMAND. Since they are IR, anything that breaks the sensor field will work. The glass is just something for you to touch and make physical contact with.

  • @musiccomputing Ok cool. Could I lean my hand on the surface and write with the pen or would my hand need to not touch the screen? Also what about pressure sensivity? (the harder I press the harder the drawn strokes would be)

    *Using Windows 7 64-bit

  • @60spaure - you cannot touch the screen with your hands and it is not pressure sensitive for light and heavy strokes.

  • me and many of my friends here have 24" monitors(like benq g2420hd). Too bad this doesn't come in 24" size.

  • @flirtyguy10 - We will be adding new sizes soon. What OS do you use?

  • @musiccomputing windows 7...sorry for the late reply..

  • i want to use this on my laptop any ideas on how to attch it and take it off often? like a clamp or sumthin?

  • @RCcarL0V3R - Sure, if you don't mind putting it on and taking it off then you can certainly use it with your laptopl

  • @musiccomputing actually i might just rip the tape off and add velcro

  • @RCcarL0V3R - Yes, that works great, some of our customers have done that with their MotionCOMMAND Frames...

  • im just wondering if you could put the screen on the desk and not on the screen itself.

  • @justin6532 - Yes, you can lay the MotionCOMMAND Frame flat or slightly angled on a desk and use it like a drawing pad. It does not have to be attached to a LCD or video monitor.

  • @justin6532 You could but how would you know where you are touching. As soon as you touch it it's as if you've single-clicked on the screen. You can't hover your finger on it until you find the right spot and tap.

Tried using an EP121's touch capabilities on an external monitor. Not easy when the original tablet's display is turned off.

  • im just wondering if you could put the screen on the desk and not on the screen itself.

  • @justin6532 - yes...you can put the MotionCOMMAND FRAME on the desk and use it that way if you want. It does not have to be attached to the LCD..

  • What about the monitor buttons that u covered with the frame ???

  • @gordanzzzz i was wondering the same thing. The buttons for my monitor are on the bottom. But for those that aren't what to do.

  • What Was The Dj Software That you Used In This Video? Plz I Wanna Use It

  • @JESUSpin54 - He was using Deckadance...it's a fantastic software but only single touch right now. If you want to use multi-touch, try Emulator.

  • why does it lag? is it your product or is it the computer system that is making it lag?

  • @MentalReserve - the latency for the touchcreen is between 8ms to 16ms, so there is some slight lag.

  • @MentalReserve so when does the new version that does not have this problem come out? Im thinking about getting 3 but not if there is a newer & better version coming out soon

  • @MentalReserve - there is no new version...this is just how this technology works. It's a little give and take. Capacity touch screens are expensive and can only be made in small sizes, but they are very responsive. IR touch screen are less expensive and can be made into large sizes, but they have a slight lag.

  • Can this be used for animation software (Toon Boom) and art software like (photoshop) ?? Also can you get a protective screen cover??

  • @rhythm2007mc - The MotionCOMMAND acts like a mouse, so whatever you see on the screen, you can control. You do not need a protective screen cover because it works on a grid of IR light and the glass you touch is simply glass. So there is nothing to wear out or damage by scratching. If you do break the glass or scratch it, you can replace it with standard tempered glass you can get from any glass shop.

  • @musiccomputing Thats sound m8. Am thinking of getting a 40 inch flatscreen tv or monitor with a tilting hanger. So that I can you it for making Animations with toon boom or similiar software. I also will be getting into doing Digital Animated and Still Matte Paintings. If I can use it for this, it will be great and probly a good money saver. I also do music production and you should suggest to user they can user virtual keyboard etc if they had a tilted monitor. Loads of possiblities for this:)

  • @rhythm2007mc - We do not offer a 40" version, so look at the 32" or 42". The MotionCOMMAND will act like a mouse so anything you see on the screen you can control. There are some basic multi-touch gestures built into Windows 7, but VISTA and XP is only single touch. Although it is pretty responsive at 8ms to 16ms...it is too slow to use as a virtual piano keyboard or drum controller at this time.

  • I don't think it was mentioned, and I don't see it on the web site. How many simultaneous touchpoints can the frame track?

  • @odirex - The 17" and 22" can track 2-touch points. Any size 32" or bigger can track 2, 6 and 32 points. Just select the version you want in our online store.

  • can this touchscreen be used on laptop?

  • @jovelnom - Sure, but you won't be able to close the top because the MotionCOMMAND Frame will be in the way...

  • Damn that is tight! Music Computing is genius for this product. Once again Victor has did it again.

  • Another awesome product from music computing! I'd love to use it to edit video with. Good price and good features. My studio blade is on it's way and I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas just thinking about it! I wanted a multi touch screen but they were tad bit out of my price range at the moment, this alternative to buying a whole new screen is an affordable option for me!

  • This is exactly what I've been looking for. When will these be available?

  • @themuzic - LOL!, we're not sure how you are seeing the video because it's suppose to be hidden! But in any case, they are available now and we are going to announced them tomorrow or Monday. You will be able to order them online through our website.

  • @musiccomputing I'm sneaky that way.....lol. Actually it looks like an email was sent to anyone who subscribes to your channel.

  • @themuzic - Hmmm....we thought we had to actually give someone a link for them to see it. We did that so we can update our site before the actual release, guess it pays to subscribe to people's YouTube channels...

  • @themuzic - We officially released them today. You can buy them via our online store right now...
