I've seen a lot of comments on how unlikable Carrie can be. But I think the show was wise to have an imperfect main character. It's more realistic. I remember something John Travolta said about his character in "Saturday Night Fever," Tony, who could sometimes be cruel. Travolta felt the character didn't have to be likable, but watchable.

@qualityfemale yeah, you're right. Aidan is just BORING. He's a 3 kids and a house and a suburbs type of guy and Carrie is a cosmopolitan gal who never wants to slow down. They NEVER would have survived as a couple. Big was waaay more interesting albeit mentally fucked up.

Carrie leaves Aidan for Mr. Big--a man afraid of commitment that's not really good for her but she thinks she can change(or as it happens by the end of the show, 'magically' changes for her). Unfortunately, a lot of us women fall for that crap & miss out on the great guys--the Aidans of the world. :P
