we have to read this in English and we watched the video in French...My teacher always tells me to stop looking out the window and watch to try to figure out what's going on...She hasn't figured out that I'm fluent in French...I'll see how long it takes her!
HAD to watch this in Eng/Lit yester. The end of the movie-not this vid- was cheesy AND depressing. me and my frends almost cried in class. I WAS LIKE OMG NO! it was sad.
You're right the ending is cheesy and depressing; but it is inherent in the whole plot:-- poor Cyrano could not have ended up in any other way..I guess that's why you almost cried.
I think the definition of "cheesy" is something so overused that its soppy and predictable. But at the time of the writing, it was still pretty original. By today's standards, yes, its cheesy, but it was the one of the originals that later plays copied.
But yes, tremendously great movie. Depressing, makes you feel extremely gloomy in the end, but its a perfect ending nevertheless.
Aw, really nice...I can't seem to get over this play/movie, we read/watched it in class and I got really attached to it...probably because I got to read his part. Tomorrow we finish the film. I'm afriad I might cry in class xD I cried at the end of the book, so...sheesh, I sound like a wimp huh? Oh well, nice vid.(:
Very well put together. :]

CYRANO
Sept cent soixante-trois flambeaux de cire blanche ;
Nos troupes ont battu, dit-on, Jean l'Autrichien ;

Ne fait pas un remords, mais une gךne obscure ;
