With the M98B, all shots should be 1-hit shots. The reason being is because a .338 Magnum round IRL is practically the same ballistics as a .50 cal round. The .338 Magnum is a very good round and a perfect alternate to a .50 cal round. They're also cheaper IRL. Moral of the story, this gun is a beast and should be instakill in BF3...

i am not using any sniper rifle at all, i have never really used them, but got all unlocks for recon through pdws, and now that the 2nd dlc is coming out, its rumored to be "all amrican" im hoping for there to be a barret m82 (the 50 cal.) i was pissed at first when they put it in the campaign and then not in the multiplayer, but there is hope yet

Recon is personally my favorite class. The sniper rifles pay off when you deliberately go for marksman bonus. Of course, when i deliberately try, i only accidentally get the kill! (if that makes sense...)

I personally did engineer until i got the ump. Used the ump with recon until i unlocked the mav. Mav until the end. Good KD/R, Good spot assist, fast spot assist, fast spot ribbons, fast spot medals. A lot of kills if you know how to drive it and your also helping your team a hell of a lot.

Sniping is hard you know not only for us but for DICE. You make them to powerful people are going to say its OP. A head shot is a good medium sure its hard to do and at range with a moving target it can be impossible. But when you get that solid shot off on an enemy and you get that kill nothing beats that moment. Its to bad so many people abuse this class and misuse it. Being a snipper is not about getting kills its about giving your guys the heads up and keeping the heat on the enemy. cheers

I just unlocked it and it's a BEAST Sniper I would Recommend it to everyone.. If its hard to get it just use a PDW Weapon to rank up your Recon Class then you got it.. Peace.

i was SO stoked to get this, then i tried shooting 500+ meters. and it was gawd awful accuracy.. it wouldn't shoot down the scopes, it would shoot right of it. i was so annoyed i haven't used it sense, has anyone else had this problem, or fixed this problem?

i prefferd this weapon with a 8x scope, straight pull bolt, and a turned of laser light, i only you the laser in cqb moments.

That's why you aim for the head. They don't do 1 shot kills because that would make it easier to snipe and therefore make it like BC2 (wookie fest).

fuck the makers of battlefield 3. they made sniping in between quick scoping and hard scoping, unlike battlefield 2 where is pro, like a sniper would. graphics are not that great.

he's right this gun is a beast and when i first started using it after unlock i realized i was missing targets because the bullet drop is about half of what the other bolt actions have to deal with and though unlocking it is a bit of a pain it's worth it 100%

best way to unlock this wepond is to use l96 because the bullet drop is nearly the same as m98b so its very easy to snipe across the map [ my longest headshot with l96 was 815 meaters]

I have seventeen Service Stars with this weapon, 1701 kills, It is an extremely excellent weapon, great power, and the minimal bullet drop makes longer range engagements much easier than other Sniper Rifles. Absolutely love this weapon.

It actully carrys a 5 round magasin, the extra bullet is the bullet that stays in the chamber. But yes, it carrys up to 6 bullets, but it have a 5 round magasin. Also, the bullets seem to travel faster then the other snipers, but that might just be me. Good review though, much much better then most. You´ve earned a subscriber.

the m98b is my best weapon of all even though i use assault rifles a lot. then i looked at the m98b i have 12 service stars! im not an aggressive recon all my kills were long range but some were lucky close range kills. my sidearm is the 44 magnum which i only pull out for emergencies or i want to rush in. i soon realize that the 44 magnum is my second best weapon of all. i was also really shocked.

The high stopping power of this gun has saved me soooo many times the best one is I had just spawned in the alleyway on Grand Bazaar and a guy was right in front of me i quickly moved the the gun towards him pulled the trigger hit his theigh and he dropped it was awesome! and it is also a one shot close courters and one pistol shot (using M1911) to kill someone Check my battlelog, the score isn't much to look at but you can tell i know my way around a sniper :P

they need to make this gun less accurate at extremely long ranges. i just played 3 games online and in each one there were snipers killing/pinning me down with this thing from ACROSS the map. BF3 should've made it to where it keeps you with people close to your rank. that way you and your enemies would have access to the same/similar abilities and thereby gameplay would be a LOT more "skill" oriented (much like KZ2) and not about who has unlocked the "better" weapons and attachments.

With the M98B I got 6 headshots at 1000M in a row, without missing once. Any semi-auto sniper, I can't even get a kill :| The other bolt action rifles don't actually seem to make it over 800M
