  • That is a REAL FREEDOM !!

  • Intelligent religion stand with God !

  • His Laugh gives me the "Giggles" Man! Awsome !

  • Una inteligencia que no tenga en cuenta a la estupidez será estúpida.

  • Your god damn right brother!

  • i understand everything hes saying.. all lsd does it teach you to trust yourself, to look to yourself for answers, and to seek out the truth and to not settle for the lies the government gives us. We live in a world where the governments dont want us to be fully aware, dont want us to be fully functioning in consciousness, and dont want us to be satisfied. They want us to be their pencil pushers and to do all the work for them and not to be high. All LSD does is help prepare us for GOD!!!!!!!!

  • I like what he says about not liking followers. Like his view of the molecular age of the individual gods. He doesn't want fans and followers. He wants everyone to become their own Einstein, so to speak. That's what makes him real. Genuine. Not a sell-out. So to speak.

  • @xTheWorldNeedsAHerox

Hell yeah man. It's frustrating when people don't seem to get his very basic, yet profound, message. They can't see past what they assume is ego and delusion. I've always found his perspective spot-on, humble and empowering. Especially after having experienced the psychedelics for myself.

  • Always thought Tim had gone crazy, but this proves otherwise.

  • This guy certainly gets a bad rap for putting himself off as an enlightened man who did nothing wrong. He glorified LSD because he experienced the positive affects of it, which are indescribable and life-changing. He clearly planned out his trips and was in the proper environments for his experimentation, too. All these people criticizing him think he made a bunch of foolish young people take the drug when they weren't in the correct mindset, which is truly ridiculous.

    This man inspires me.

  • @JimSVoit

I agree with you. It gives me a good feeling to see that other people are interpreting him the way I am (and I'll go out on a limb and say we are *correctly* interpreting Leary).

He simply wanted to empower people and have them explore these regions of the mind without asking if it's permissible by their parents, the Church, science, so on and so forth. He never demanded they do it - he only wanted to share the knowledge that it was possible. A beautiful man indeed.

  • My Mother saw you at Hobart College...I wish I had went with her...I'd of beat the living shit out of you !!!!! You sir are a piece of shit!! Doctor?!!! I'd have stomped a mud hole in your ass!!! I hate you!!!!!

  • @VIKING33NY why?

  • I like their research but I prefer the way Ram Dass talked about how how it gave him experience to look for better ways to open the mind such as meditation.

  • @SuzLa1

This is true, but even Ram Dass continued to take psychedelics throughout his life - somewhat regularly (at least once a year, if I recall his statement).

  • Someone should have killed this peice of shit 40 years ago. Plenty of people would still be alive today, most of them teenagers.

  • @falcondriver100 what do you mean?

  • @falcondriver100 The people who died are idiots who abused the drugs that killed them.

  • @TheREALforeverone They probably would have never even tried it unless this jerkoff(who they looked up to)glorified LSD!

  • @falcondriver100 so you are implying people cannot make their own decisions as to what drug they decide to ingest?

  • @falcondriver100

Is that HIS problem? That they couldn't think for themselves? Leary always emphasized that it was very powerful and potentially dangerous. It isn't HIS fault that morons took LSD without ever reading his literature. If they did, then they would of known how to prepare properly.

  • @alliant Ata boy! Good libtards NEVER take resonsibility for thier actions do they? Just ask Obama you ignorant, scumbag lowlife!

  • @falcondriver100

Who said I'm a liberal or have anything to do with Obama? I'm Canadian you moron. I'm talking about psychedelic drugs and whether Tim Leary is somehow fully responsible for millions of people and their drug usage.

  • @alliant Oh that makes sense! All you Canadians are ignorant, lowlife, liberal socialists who think Obama is wonderful.

Teenage kids are STUPID! Get it? They looked up to this asshole as a highly intelligent man & trusted him you moron. His POS is responsible for the misery, ruined lives & deaths of millions. Not a surpise you think he's great.

  • @falcondriver100 I am not a canadian but you got your wits in your ass. He attempted to research and reincarnate an ancient way of life followed by millions and has continuous roots since 3000 BC. By your understanding, all the people who have used psychedelics (ancient hindus, egyptians, mayans, etc) are all complete dumbfucks without exception. Either you are ignorant, which makes you one more of those fags who write 'bieber suckz' after every vid or hopelessly and miserably blinded.

  • @vineshowns its ok brother.. if this dude doesnt understand thats ok.. timothy leary's point is that only those who really understand realize what hes saying, the rest get to laugh at him and think its all a joke.. but by god haha thats funny.. responsible for the death of millions.. haha why dont you try some lsd or some dmt and see how you like it? Every culture in the world uses psychadelics

  • @falcondriver100

    lmao

ALL CANADIANS, man. ALL of em!

  • @falcondriver100

That a boy - blame everyone for ignorance. Keep that Christian plague a-comin'!

  • @sd62t833 uhhh, no.. the original divine, as far as human history goes, was feminine, far before men turned her into a 'he,' thousands of years ago. God was originally the 'mother,' not the father. This as nothing to do with pop culture in the 1900's, and certainly has nothing to with feminism! HA!!!

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer Really now? That was debunked years ago by anthropology. You kinda need to be re-educated it sounds like.

  • it's not spanish... it's portuguese guys...

  • Timothy Leary was awesome!!! A really enlightened person...despite all the slander and persecution, he retained his serenity. I love him

  • I wish this didn't have the spanish text...lol. It's distracting

  • Check out the lords of the revolution!!!! Best leary documetary I ever seen! Finnally a well deserved doc about tim!!!

  • I love it when he laughs.

  • Ron Paul 2012 to end the War on Drugs, Default the Constitution, end the "Federal Reserve" and End the "Patriot" Act!!!! Yes Ending the war on nature is possible this election!!!!!

  • @psillyguava no... just no.

  • what concerns me is his constant smile, it does appear he was more like a politican then a philospher

  • @MrFalconford

god forbid a philosopher should smile. I assure you Socrates had a filthy grin, up until the end.

I think Leary understood the importance of laughter, of smiling, of Intelligent Optimism

  • listen: anybody who thinks leary was some kind of great man really needs to read robert greenfield's bio of leary.leary LIED constantly. he ratted out all his friends to get out of prison. he drove his 1st wife and his daughter to suicide. he stabbed everybody he knew in the back all his life. he was a lowlife evil clown and not deserving of your admiration

  • @popstone1 I don't know if your claims are true, that Tim was a bad person, but from this video, everything he sounds like a really intelligent person. He sounds like a nice guy, but historically the people fighting for good causes haven't always been the nicest of people.

  • @popstone1 And to say that he drove his wife and his daughter to suicide is a bit of an assumption, don't you think? You can't say that just because they commited suicide that he was the cause.

  • @popstone1

    false; thanks for playing

  • he was brilliant but maybe he did too many drugs as he got older he became less and less coherent

  • fuck this shit. i hope i'm not like this.

  • @fageramoosquichconis you're obviously not, so no worries!

  • they didn't send him to a mental hospital?

  • I love most of the things he has to say, but I wish he didn't use the vague word 'intelligence'. Not everyone is capable of intelligence.

  • @Tengent

Well I think that for intelligent people, lol, it isn't a particularly vague word. If you read his books, you see he outlined exactly what he thought intelligence was. Physical intelligence, Emotional intelligence, Rational intelligence, Social intelligence (and then the psychedelic intelligences that refer to "turning on" and "tuning in" - basically how to get yourself high.

  • @Tengent

I did NOT mean to sound like I was saying you're not intelligent haha. I mean, try to take the word in the way in which you understand it. Not only in terms of being well-read, writing well, speaking well, etc.. But he meant a comprehensive kind of intelligence - he thought of consciousness and intelligence as somewhat the same thing. Except consciousness can have a low level of certain intelligence(s). God is the force that drives us towards intelligence.

  • Yeah, because as we all know, God has a gender, which means She or He is able to procreate. Anyone who refers to God as a "he" or "she" is instantly admitting to a pantheistic paradigm.

  • @void212 um pantheistic paradigm? I'm pretty sure montheists going back centuries have used the pronoun he (usually) to refer to "God" (whatever that is). It's not just pantheists.

  • I love the smile, I know how it feels

  • Hail Eris!

  • Diane Linkletter had led a troubled life before any alleged involvement with drugs. In 1965, at the age of 17, she eloped, and her father used his influence to get the marriage annulled

  • This man talks the pure truth when it comes to mankind.

  • @AllThatAwakens He always looks so happy and contented. He shrugs off all the bullshit. The way he acts and the things he says sound exactly like the Buddha in Herman Hesse's Siddhartha. The Buddha doesn't want followers. He doesn't want to be worshiped. He wants you to find your own way. You can only follow people so long until you realism that you're not following your own way.

  • Many inventors and leading technology pioneers talk openly about using LSD and how it helped them to 'breakthrough' with new ideas. I fully believe that LSD gave USA an advantage and helped us beat other countries in scientific research.

I am not saying this because of something I have read, I am saying this based upon what I have been told by these pioneers themselves.

Sadly, most available LSD today is crap, not like the pure high grade Osley acid of the past. I had that once and it was..

  • @geoharmonic So what you are saying is that you were in San Fransisco in the mid 1960's and got some of Stanley Owsley's LSD? Seeing as you cant even spell his name I doubt it. And Timothy Leary encourages dissent which you do not need drugs for. Healthy diet and good sleeping pattern is probably dissent today. The LSD experiment was to create an altered state of consciousness to enable the user to examine their own banal state and grow. Vedic culture has taught the same drug free idea 2000yrs

  • @molloyconz No, not at all, there apparently was a large amount made that survived throughout the years, and in 1985, a friend of a deadhead had some. It was very different then anything else I had tried.

Now of course I don't feel that I need that anymore, but I am certainly glad I got to experience it the best way.

  • Timothy Leary is well-known for being an advocate for LSD, but most people don't realize what a brilliant psychologist he was. He brought intimacy into the equation of psychological healing... He was extremely successful in rehabilitating criminals by putting them in a loving environment, altering their state of mind, & then helped reinvent their identities & helping them to being happy about who they were.

If Bobby Kennedy hadn't been on a witch hunt, his research wouldn't have been demonized.

  • @geoharmonic

  • Intelligence makes you sexier....epic, bravo, both hands down, two thumbs up! I am ecstatic by the positive energy Leary puts out..

  • i fucking love this man, i dont know why my parents never got me into him sooner....everything he says makes soo much scense!

  • Think for yourself,question authority!

  • This is not to say I disagree with everything Tim Leary had to say, but, if I want to, on my knees, pray to God, if I want to meditate in a lotus trance in union with God, if I want to, on my knees intone Divine Sacred mantras to God that were the handiwork of beings far, far more wiser and intelligent then Tim Leary, who is he, to tell me what my relation to the Infinite Divine Intelligence should be? Tim Leary got caught up in his ego after he got kicked out of Harvard (he's human)... wake up!

  • Anton LaVey opposed Tim Leary and yet their philosophy on life, intelligence, pleasure, religion, and "not following" is about the same. I didn't realize this until I started to compare notes and ask questions. Both were "Devil's advocates" and I am not talking about that term in a spiritual sense. I found the stuff that went on in the sixties more than amusing and I'm talking about the things which went beyond the two.The bubble had to burst. Oppression via fear, guilt... can only last so long.

  • i disagree i think Leary has a lot of followers

  • Knowledge is Power. To bad the Sheeple can't comprehend.

  • @Mhjeckel don't use the term sheeple. it betrays your stupidity.

  • Fuck "the American way of life." Evolve. Be free.

  • i love that there is a language i don't understand being shown to me as i hear the words translated, my subconscious is learning, expanding, becoming more and more one with everything and everyone! that is the point of life

  • stupid mexican language ruining Timothy Leary face!!!

    FUCK spanish wetbacks GO WEED

  • THANK YOU LEARY YES IM YELLING SO YOU HEAR ME UP THERE!!!

  • Totally revolutionary!

  • É ISSO AI, TIM...

JÁ PODEMOS DEIXAR DE SER MACACOS...

  • Amazing how much his statements ring true today, he was really a great man :)

  • We need more people like Timothy now more than ever. I feel we're losing momentum.

  • @ShroomDruid Daniel Pinchbeck or Douglas Rushkoff?

  • GOING TO WATCH TOMORROW ON SOME GOOD _____:D

  • 4:44 !!!! =o)

  • his openness makes him a beautiful person. Its interesting how he refers to God as a "she" when he begins speaking at around 3:16

  • @razieloner77 When speaking about God, Leary purposefully, and often, from time to time, changed the word he used to refer to God between he/him-her/she-it. He did this do demonstrate what he felt was a nonsensical tendency among people to ascribe human sexuality to such a being.

  • @BloatedSensations Shouldn't he then have referred to God as "it"?

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx No, not if you knew Leary. He wanted his speech to provoke query.

  • @razieloner77 Not "she"... "SHe".

  • @razieloner77 Personally, I believe God to be a "she" as well. I'm a male (not that I think it really matters) and I strongly believe that there is nothing supporting God's masculinity or anything of that nature. In fact, in some ancient religions and such the main deity was often portrayed as a woman that bestowed the gift of life. Just some food for thought.

  • @AllThatAwakens

    as above so below,

cmon broski, psychedelics preach the end of conceptual dualism. god is truly a he/she, and neither.

  • @alliant Well said.

  • @razieloner77 well if God's a she than nature's a father :) fair is fair. And may I just say God bless Father Nature!

lol of course it's total bullshit both to refer to "God" or nature as a he, she, mother, etc.

  • i agree
