  • @BriMcCue21 You should tell someone to hold ya back while you are jumping backwards. As you will know that someone is holding you, you will think that u will not fall down cause the other person is holding you. This will get rid of your fear. If ever this didn't helped, so go to a gym :-)

  • @BriMcCue21 I had the same fear for a very long time! I stopped tumbling for a year then went back and started doing everything by myself! I recommend taking a class at your local gym , the coaches there will help you and show you that you can do it by yourself! Once you do It once it's so much fun!

  • @RandomTeensTalk I had the same problem but I finally overcame my fear last night :) My coach said I could do it and made me stay there until I did it. And guess what? I did. you just have to be confident in yourself. Make sure you have a coach though...i wouldn't try it with yourself. 

  • @RandomTeensTalk if u have a cheesemat lik at a local gym then praatice jumping high up and then roll down its not back extension tho.and do back kick overs to and headstands hope this helps

  • @evab414 Haha, I have some tips for you. At least have a friend, and a gym (of course). Tell your friend to help your back from the side. Then bend backwards. Tell your friend to put her/his hand under your thighs, and then push it over. Then count to three. On three, your friend will push you over, causing you to a jump. When you jump, you're gonna do something like a handstand. Then, push your right foot to the front, and then flip over. Works everytime for me! Hope this helped! ^.^

  • OMG I have been a cheerleader for 5 years and i still cant get my backhandspring. I am really scared i am going to jump and land on my head. I can do a solid handstand, bridge, backwalkover but i cant do a backhandspring. I am scared... Any tips. I want to get it my the end of 2012 :)

  • @MissCookieMonster454 youll never get it without letting go of your fear. no matter what kind of technique you use, if youre still scared youll mess it up somehow. i kept looking to over my shoulder and not looking chin up because i was scared of crashing so it looked like i was doing a retarded cartwheel. lol. then i realized i really had to just let go and throw my arms back and look up. thats when i got it. just get spotted for it until you can let go of the fear of crashing.

  • @JillJillz100 I know how you feel, you are afraid of falling, everyone has been through that, I've been practicing on my couch, being in a squat, and throwing my self back, and trying to finish up in a bridge, when i got confident in doing it, i went out with my friend, found a sand pit, told him just to be stay near me, and to push my legs back when i start throwing my self, done it a few times,didnt practice it in a while, but the fear is gone, if u need any tips, ill help + vid

  • I tried mine today at cheer with a professional gymnast. I was really scared to do it, it looked like it would hurt my wrists really bad. It was so fun and way easier than I expected, I kept doing them and now I'm somewhat close to at least a roundoff handspring! I officially love them! (:

    Heres the biggest tip that no one ever follows. This is my tip. Its simple.

    Do Not Be Afraid. You can practice with jumping and have you arms up and ready to carry your whole body for some seconds. :)

  • see those circles in the background? (those colorful ones) those are what you use to learn back handsprings, then you do it on a trampoline with bungee cords, then you do it on a trampoline, then a floor, you get hurt if you first do it on a floor -_-
