  • I liked how the winners handled winning in this video. Looked like most of them walked away quickly and let their opponent have a little dignity.

  • Kyokushin is what the individual will make it fight your way inspired by what ever part of kyokushin comes best to you in the given circumstance therefore all qualities of kyokushin can be utilised in combat Kumite or kata

  • what kind of karate is this?

  • @warlordd95

    Kyokushin or Kyokushinkai

  • when exchanging close range chudan tsukis, why aren't there more foot sweeps?

  • great video!

  • sheesh wat wussies

  • this is EXCELLENT^.^!!

  • some thing is which gives u more power and u need to make ur self power full

  • I like the martial arts because you can clearly understand the difference between sparring, fighting, and the martial arts as a sport.

  • The blonde guy at 5:20 looks like the main character of the manga Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru; he's a green belt aswell and uses doumawashi kaiten geri a lot. Now I even think Kohinata Minoru character was based on this fighter.

By the way, if you like Kyokushin and japanese manga, you should check that one.

  • 0:35 what UNGODLY shit did this mofo do?

oh my god I was unimpressed by the lack of kickboxing/muay thai feel that a boxing guard and footwork bring....but this is a gem. I MUST know the name of this move and have an instructional and theory presented. OSS!

  • @sireweezsmucker1 could be a variant of a reverse spinning hook kick

  • @helsinki

Its called a wheel kick. basically a sacrifice spinning crescent

  • @SpikyPeahorn thanks for the reply...... found another sweet video of the kick here watch?v=x5z7xc7sC-k

  • Kyokushin sparring is all about surviving and learning to take a hit. It's not for elf defense its just a test of will.

  • You won't ever see this in Shotokan or Kempo

  • @dakentaijutsu2010 why do you think so? I train shotokan for years and i can fight a kyokushinite same as shotokan fighter no big deal.

  • @bambalia you're right

  • @dakentaijutsu2010

No ofcourse you wouldn't. Since Kyokushin(kai) is the only style of Karate with real Full Contact! ;)

  • @Donnygast I only study Kempo but I seen what Kyokushinkai fighters are capable of

  • @dakentaijutsu2010 I'm studying Wado. But i'm interested in every style :P

  • @Donnygast so am I. Especially Kyokushinkai!

  • @Donnygast shotokan is full contact to... in traditional way please dont talk trash about honored martial arts.

  • @bambalia

Seriously? Oh i'm sorry for that. I really thought Shotokan wasn't full contact :S

  • @Donnygast every ancient martial art is design to kill you're opponent instantly soo now the martial arts that we are using now in this century are modern not traditional anymore just a few are old school for example in Okinawa there you can train very well the traditional Karate.

  • @bambalia

Yeah, in that way i get it. But now Kyokushinkai is the only style with full contact still isn't it?

  • @bambalia I agree. Shotokan is just as affective as any martial art ever!

  • 0:51 was fuckin hilarious.

  • @TheGlock80 Suppose you haven't been there?

  • I like how they're strictly focusing on there body and not the head

  • @Rawrtrigga there's no punching to the face allowed in the tournament. Kicks to the head are ok though. For me it's strange, specially when karate emphasizes "real world" practical fighting techniques. But maybe it's so the competition won't end up looking like a boxing, or muai thai match.

  • thier punches dont look that fast or strong but apparently the result is crippling.

can anyone tell me what they are aiming for like what organs and how they are punching differently from a regular shot to the body?

  • @wowdezare It's a lot different to follow kumite from a video than watch it right next to them where you can hear all the shots and see the actual brutality of the fight.

What you mean by different shots to the body? And ..... Well, SOME of the places they aim are liver, diaphragm, shoulder nerve, collarbone etc. But really they are punching a lot to "everywhere/anywhere", the idea is to during the fight get that one punch or kick where you want it and so knock the guy down.

  • @wowdezare But of course the more you hit where it hurts the most, the better.

  • @wowdezare the emphasis isn't on speed but devastation. That's why they don't strike so fast, but you see a lot of people fall down after one hit. Not sure what the difference is from a boxing punch though.

  • лечо супер

  • This is hardcore, dude!

  • wow 47 secs n 51 secs was the best but i havent finish watching this vid

  • 4:25 to take a spinning side and come out that strong! i wanna learn!!!!!!!!

  • is there weight classes? how does this work? by rank and belt?

  • @davidonspecialk Yep, weight classes. In such as world open tournament, there is a certain rank where you can attend the tournament. But you will be fighting anyone in there.

  • Thanks for sharing..Osu!

  • im training this sport. its rly cool i recommend you to try this.

  • 7:59 is it Lechi Kurbanov?

  • Respect professional fighters.

  • We Have A Karate Tournament In Jan Or Feb & ive never went to tournaments ( soo scared ) :S

  • wow Thank you so much for posting this!! 10 out 10 ! OSU

  • As a kickboxer i very much enjoy watching kyokushin, while some people think it's for pussies it's not. I experienced first hand how many power hides behind those techniques. Very nice vid.

  • @devilben7 no one would say kyokushin is for pussies except ignorant dumb people but i respect your comment OSU !!

  • it's beautiful how much power hides in those kicks that look weak..just beautiful

  • theres no art thats scarier then kyokushin when it comes to body shot..

  • ufc rox

  • They should add MMA gloves so they can hit themselves in the head

  • kyokushin karate is cool, I would like to train in it someday.

  • majority of Karate lineages out there suck....but not this one, Kyokushin fighters are TUFF as fukin NAILS!!!!

  • they dont hit hard

  • Gotta be the ugliest martial art in the world. They look like lumbering oxen. However I wouldnt say that to their faces!

  • Anybody know the Kick technique used it the first match here? That isn't a simple round kick to the head.

  • much to sloppy to be called Karate... zz

  • great...any pt2

  • It seems so artificial without punches to the face - like a dance, rather than a technique of fighting. Very strange.

  • @InContemptofCourt You do realize that bare knuckles to the face would just create a bunch of brain damaged and handicapped practitioners. That would kill the art. The reason it looks like a dance is because every shot has a chance to cripple you. You have to be very selective of your strikes. Also, keep in mind that Kyokushin practitioners are in pursuit of the "godhand", which is the "one punch kill."

  • @steev5 bunch of bullcrap. honestly. Im competing in kyokushin myself but that is a stupid excuse for a stupid rule. Mma gloves are hardly padded at all and it works fine. Why cant we kyokushin fighters use mma gloves?

  • @BlackwallstreetBIH Think about it... First of all, Those gloves still make a big difference. Second it would totally change Kyokushin kumite into something very different, and suppose there's a reason why no one has made such a change? You wanna do MMA? Change your style, and stop bothering us with your stupid concerns.

  • @pastropmal please tell me what was stupid about my "concern" It's not about me wanting to do mma or not. I do train mma also, but the excuse that mma gloves would make a big diffrence is bullcrap. There hardly is any padding at all. The rules are stupid and they give karatekas a false sense of security.

    Thats just my opinion.

  • @BlackwallstreetBIH Stupid about it is that you talk like it's something obvious that would be changed if people were as smart as you, when in fact you just aren't looking outside of the box. I thought you compete in Kyokushin.. Sure it hurts with gloves, hurts a lot. But there is a difference on the way your opponent's knuckles curve under neath your skin.. There is a false sense of security, people who train in Kyokushin, know that. But does it necessarily mean it has to

  • @BlackwallstreetBIH be changed?

  • @BlackwallstreetBIH Kyokushin kumite rules aren't making you ready to protect yourself on the street or something..I mean of course it's part of it, but the whole self defence part is on kihon, iddo and kata. Kumite is just making you tough, testing your skills and capability to push yourself forward even when you're death tired hurt and just wanna stop.

  • @BlackwallstreetBIH Because MMA gloves protects only the fighters hand, but they are hard as rocks, bare knuckles are more safe than MMA gloves.

  • @TheKungfuzen Not true, have you ever even tried sparring with mma gloves? 4 oz gloves are not far from bare knuckle.

  • @kehhvin have heard this called a wheel kick aswell

  • why are there no muscular people?

  • was that dolph lundgren at 0:49

  • DO YOU GUYS KNOW HOW HARD THEY TRAIN?!?!?!? IT'S FRICKIN HELL (in japan anyway) ULTIMATETRUTH330 IS RIGHT. ONE KICK TO THE HEAD FROM THESE GUYS AND YOU'D BE OUT FOR GOOD!!!!!!!! OSU!!!!!!!!!

  • why dont they punch to face?

  • Hi guys, does someone has a link to fighting rules? Thank you so much.

  • lol@ 0:55 that was an epic fall!

  • Lack of punches to head spolils it all, however beautiful and tough it can be. Realy serious shortcoming in Karate. Why not design special Kykoshin helmets and do REAL full contact. OR, why not use light gloves with open fingures just like they do in UFC? You loose almost nothing in a wrist mobility.

  • @valgez Gloves make body punches very very pointless. So do shin protectors.

If you want a sloppy brawl and severe head trauma - by all means go to the UFC.

  • @corvanjer Very very pointless? Why do you think so? BUT in a real fight head punches are very common, and very dangerous, right? So, how can one be prepared to it without practicing head punches? I mean, you need to actually put lots of time into fist fighting to actually become able to effectively "punch and dodge" - if you don't do it - then you miss one of the most basic fighting aspects. "Sloppy Brawl" ? - I cannot comment this :-)))))))

  • @corvanjer Do you realize how unrealistic they look? :-) Would you ever expect to see two good fighters standing this close to each other ? It'd be a matter of a split second before someone punches somebody's face :-) UFC tournaments are MUCH more brutal and realistic than Kyokoshin tournaments.

  • @valgez1 A realistic fight doesn't laste more then 3 seconds. A realistic fight has more then one opponent.

Have you ever been punched in the chest bareknuckled and with a glove? They're completely different.

Kyokushin does actually train head punches - there is just none in tournaments. Gloves do detract ALOT of the power/pain.

Having no head punches actually leads to alot more strategy being involved. ^_^.

  • @corvanjer Training head punches without full contact is as useful as learning fighting from Sony playstation. Having no head punches doesn't mean "strategy" - it means one's inability to do a fist fight. Kyokoshin doesn't have head punches because they have to sacrifice them for the sake of "bareknuckle" fight - which is GOOD, but with quite serious limitations. Fist fight is one of the basic things an accomplished fighter must have, - karatekas do not have it.

  • @valgez1 Kyokushin do practice full contact head shots, the same way boxers, kick-boxers and ufc styled mixed martial artists do - with gloves, they have kickboxing styled tournaments similar to Muay Thai. People just pay more attention to the bare knuckle competitions because they're unusual and Kyokushin practitioners tend to be proud of them because it's something rather unique to the style. Oh and these guys have jobs, pay them to be in the gym and they'd have the fitness.

  • @valgez1 Also alot of top K-1/UFC/MMA are Kyokushin, umad

  • Lechi Kurbanov is really strong as he looks.. OSU !

  • why is everyone feelin these hits 2 seconds afterwards

  • @Meteorman312 When you get hit in the gut, it takes a second for the pain to really kick in. It hurts when you get hit and quickly intensifies to the point that you want to quit.

  • @HexSpa i knew that just looked funnier than usual probably because of the lac of gloves

  • this pathetic... what kind of world tournament has yellow belts fighting. some of them fail to raise hands properly. some of them are just fat. japs invited some white to kick groins

  • @aidziulis they are not yellow belts theyare just there to distinct which fighter is who

  • Osu!!! From Algeria !

  • seriously guys? this video is 8 minutes of pleasure. amazing fighting.

  • Osu.

  • i don't understand, the head isn't a legal target for punches, but is it for kicks?

  • @cstellmach I know right? Did you see how easily that guy got his eyebrow split open? Imagine getting a toenail to the eye?

  • @CatNipSmoker Imagine getting one of those punches in the eye.

  • @cstellmach

yep in kyokushin and other karate's as well you can hit the head with a kick but can't punch it...

  • @kaissarMCR I've competed in several places and as my experience goes kyokushin is the only one. what are the others?

  • Comment removed

  • I see comments about whether kyukushin rules. I'm a kyokoshin myself, in the gym, but out on the canvas I prefer K-1 rules. The thing for me is the hard training and the fact that it's easier to go from kyokushin to real rules then the other way around.

  • this is childs play wats so kool bout this

  • @nathan15494 yes this is so because they really don't want people to be regularly maimed or killed.

How many bare knuckle fights have you been in?

  • ufc/mma would woop these dudes ass

  • @nathan15494 Lol, you're an idiot.

  • @corvanjer

you have no clue put vitor belfort vs one of these guys

these dudes just arent n the same conditition ufc

has more stamina this looks like something my 2 8

    year old cousins would do

  • @nathan15494 Yeah I know...That GSP guy heard he's shit and has no stamina..And like he doesn't do Kyokushin. /facepalm.

  • @nathan15494 :D:D:DD:D you really think those people have no stamina ? have you ever seen kyokushin karatekas practcie ??? just shut up

  • @SpeedGST Have you ever fought in one of these tourney's? I doubt it or else you would know how tough it is and how beat up you get when you do. I guarantee most of these guys could knock your ass out without much effort.

  • @ultimatetruth330 I think he was just trying to piss everyone off

  • @SpeedGST if you ever see in real life a black belt kyokushin fighter fighting you will shit in your pants !!!

believe me man i had a friend who did kyokushin he knocked eveyone out with one punch who wanted to fight him.but i expect such comments from ignorant people.

  • @SpeedGST MMA isn’t acually the greatest fighters. Many of them can’t hit or kick propery because they come from judo and jujitsu etc... it’s a lot groundfighting in MMA.

  • @UncoolShrimp My friend is in the Ultimate Fighter show (this season) he has green hair. He does MMA. I helped train him when he was a kid (10 yrs older than him). He's very good. I did this Kyokushin tournament myself in 99 got to the finals for NY but lost. Glaube Feitosa won

  • @Devilbat74 what is your real name? I wish to confirm u did indeed fight glaube feitosa i will check the records on kyokushin4life forums. Sorry id like to believe you but alot of fakes out there pls provide proof.

  • @KyokushinTruth No I meant Glaube won the entire tournament that day. I lost to another Brazilian on his team in the finals.

  • @Devilbat74 ......yes and what is your full real name, if you participated in the tournament your name will be on record i wish to check it.

  • @KyokushinTruth Scott Mclean.

Can you also check if there's a recording of the tournament? I never could find one. 1999 NYC.

  • @Devilbat74 according to the records feitosa never faught in NYC in 1999....the only tournament he fought that year was the 7th world open which was not in NYC.....iunno man id like to believe u but the evidence points elsewhere.

  • @KyokushinTruth dude it was the qualifiers for the 7th world open. Everyone knows the world opens take place in Japan back then

  • @Devilbat74 ya i know that, there is also no record of you participating in it. I am calling BS on you.

  • @Devilbat74 there is no record of any qualifiers in NYC for the 7th world open nor is you're name in any of the records i think you are lying unless you can provide some real proof.

  • @KyokushinTruth lol just because you cant find it on the net doesn't mean it didn't happen. Glaube won the even that night and Fransisco Filho already qualified before but he was there as well but for demonstrations (brick breaking or whatever). I have no reason to lie about it continuously serves me no purpose. Im sure someone recorded the event though possible the NYC school. The event took place in the Citicorp building

  • @Devilbat74 of course u have reason to lie, people lie about being in tournaments all the time. Also i found the list of fighters participating in both the qualifiers and finals of the 7th world open and your name is not on the list now i know for sure you did not participate. You are lying.

  • @Devilbat74 Actually its a well known fact that only the america's cup championship takes place in NYC in fact the world open qualifiers for 1999 took place in brazil and tokyo japan so you are definitely not telling the truth, facts can be checked at K4Lforums.

  • @Hirobloodbrother Ok maybe it was that then might explain why Filho wasn't fighting that night but was there. But Glaube indeed won that night and the president of Kyokushin was there as well as Soshu Shiguru Oyama who was an invited guest.

  • @Devilbat74 glaube feitosa was not there, nor was filho present at the America's cup. Ur tripping over your own lies i suggest you quit while u are ahead

  • @Hirobloodbrother Ok call the nyc school then and ask them Im not lying they were there.

  • @Devilbat74 what's the number? what school i will call glaube feitosa was not there neither was filho you are def making stuff up

  • @Hirobloodbrother 265 Madison Ave # 5 New York, NY 10016-0971

    (212) 947-3334

Strange that you are a Kyokushin expert but had to ask me the # for one of their flagship schools...

  • @Devilbat74 Also i recorded the phone call if you continue to persist with your lies i will upload it to youtube and expose you.

  • @Hirobloodbrother Youre not supposed to record calls without the person's permission. Also I'm not lying. You seem to think 1999 was like yesterday. The guy said they didnt even record things properly then. Also Jean Rivere was there too. And Tekken 3 was one of the sponsors. There were posters against the walls.

  • @Devilbat74 i Told him i was recording the call he also said hes never heard of scott mcclean and you did not compete at the tournament this is your final warning before i post the video of the call confirming that nobody named scott mcclean ever fought there in 1999 and they did keep records.

  • @Hirobloodbrother But I asked them if they kept records like a recording and he said no. Can you please send me the call?

  • @Hirobloodbrother Also I just called them and they said it was American Open at Hunter College at Park Ave and Glaube did indeed fight. The guy that answered the phone said he himself also competed. He asked for my name

  • @Devilbat74 strange that when i called the number they said they never heard of you and that there is no record of you fighting there. Not only this you changed your story 4 times already. You are a liar whos desperately trying to claw his way out of the hole he dug.

  • @Hirobloodbrother Why would they know who I am there were dozens of fighters and that was 12 years ago lol. The guy I spoke to asked for my name and even said he didnt remember me. Not like I remembered him either anyway (he said he competed then too). Also I asked him if they kept records like video footage and stuff and he said no.

  • the punches dont look full force?

  • @aethefox7 They are. These guys don't rely on kicks only, even though they are mainly the reasons for knock outs. So they hit really hard.

  • about the only rule is no punches to the face

  • this is an awesome tourney. no gloves, physical contact, actual punches and kicks...nice!

  • so whats the rules? are there no face punches allowed?

  • @shaffer8183 No face punches, no strikes to the back, no pushing or grabbing, no straight kicks to knees... Those are pretty much it.

  • what a great video!

  • 0:33

  • @Nathanroqs That one was sick :-D O_o

  • Comment removed

  • 4:03 on the number 45, is that brown belt?

  • Comment removed

  • @jjtc100 Looks like it, Can't be sure.

  • @pastropmal thanks

  • 0:53 shhhhh.....

  • Kazama style.. LOL

  • Kazama style

  • haha those little girl punches to the chest knock these fags out hahahaha bitches and that is karate people that say they could beat boxers lol

  • @lewism628 unlike boxing these "fags" aint wearing gloves so it hurts alot more, plz, next time u comment on a martial art i would think before showing everyone just how retarded u are

  • @lewism628 hahaha watch a boxer receive one of those kicks in the ribs youll see how knocked out he is..

  • @lewism628 Lol, you're a dumbass. There's Karate fighters doing successfully in both kickboxing and MMA as well and their strikes are definitely just as strong as top kickboxers and boxers. They don't easily go down because unlike boxers, they have very tough bodies as well as knuckles.

  • @lewism628 Don't think any punch to the chest is gonna drop one of these guys.

  • 0:35 is fucking sick

  • lol it's funny when somebody gets hit... then they're standing for a few seconds and then they fall XD

  • I saw 2-3 guys in the vid who participated in the Kyokushin vs K-1 Challenge :)

BTW why Kyokushin practitioners need to do the hand motion when they knocked someone out?? (eg: 0:23)

  • @fasy16 It's more of a calming technique to show the ref they aren't going to chase their opponent to the ground than anything else, just saying "yes, I'm backing off, no need for you to get involved"

  • @psychedashell It's actually to show the referee that you could attact the opponent now if it was legal.
